The Asst manager from the store where I work called me a few hours ago and told me not to come in. the weather is too bad and they werent going to be busy enough. strange for a liquor store on new years eve,,,but good for me!!!

However, all of this did NOT stop us from looking at new cars on the way home. I also talked Bob into taking me to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch.
We looked at Subaru Forrester, Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda CRV (I'm a Honda girl, I'm driving a Pilot now and it's my 8th Honda!!) and the Saturn Vue. They are all 4wd or AWD. Bob just got a call back on the Forrester. He said they'll do 1000 down and $389 a month. I don't know... I hate the "do it NOW and make your choice or LOSE the deal" thingy. Makes me feel pressured. And I have to still make 2 payments on the Pilot. The 1K is in savings, but I hate to take any out with things the way they are right now. It's so nerve wracking! Bob said, "You have about an hour to decide."

Does this mean that they WON'T make us the same deal in a month? That is strange!

We looked at Santa Fes too.......but Daran couldn't fit into it......ditto for the mazda cx9.........and the Forrester only had 2 rows........but I'm LOVING my Explorer!
It has this SYNC thing along with the nav.....and when you get in the car......it takes control of your cellphone and you just have to say "Call Abby" and it does!
(It's kinda freaking BA out---she thinks it's like IRobot where the robots take control......she jumps when it locks the doors and says "Destination??"

Well, just got caught up on my emails and saw the news

Anywho, went to the Dr today and got bad news and really bad news.

Bad news, my good foot needs a round of cortisone shots, really bad news, my bad foot needs surgery, will schedule for after my next WDW trip which is 39 days away! (no commando touring this trip)

So I was really feeling sorry for myself driving home and started thinking what a crappy year and good riddance blah blah blah, but then I my thoughts turned to maybe it wasn't so bad.

Ok first witchy poo at work, but when I needed to vent the Fockers were there, then there was Mom's heart scare, again the Fockers were there in numbers, add in Bonnie's stroke, Namath's deafness, my feet and fibro and there was always the constant of the Focker's support. Even though I have been a bit of a prodigal Focker lately, you guys were there checking up on me.

And of course there was Fockerfest, I danced with Kate's #2, danced with Janet in front of the buffet, CE lifting my shirt up in Epcot, and riding TT with Jo's family.

Boy, what a great year it was. What a great year it was to be a Focker.

So after all this, I just want to thank all of you for being you and for always being here for me, even if I'm not always here.

So here's wishing all of you a HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

BTW--remember my mom's foot surgery last year for bunions?? Well, they are STILL messed up and she has only been able to wear sandals for 11 months now. She went to an orthopedic dr who said he could fix the messed up surgery but it would be 1 year of disability.

Egads! I unlocked super hula hoop yesterday too! I must look like a riot doing it! ANdy and Maddie were busting up watching me! I think I'll post pics of us tonight.
I also rocked the step aerobics! The advanced one is so fun - it really gets your groove on.

Ooh, have you done the step boxing? I was really getting into it and DH come out of the bedroom and says you have got to do something else; it sounds like a herd of elephants running through the house.

Well, I was craving Mexican for dinner, so DH just left to pick up some food from our favorite Mexican dive. Have you ever realized that the really good Mexican food comes from restaurants that look like they're about to be condemned?? And they absolutely must have fringe on the curtains and Mexican blankets on the walls, right? Anyway, I can't wait for my enchiladas suprema to arrive!!!

OMG! So true! There was a place on the way to the beach (where a marine died two days ago; crashed his plane instead of ejecting and letting the plane hit a neighborhood...good man) anyhow, they made fried ice cream in a shell. Not that sprinkled on graham cracker crap from Chi Chi's. But somehow ice cream in a shell that was deep fried then drizzled with choc, sprinkled with cinnamon, and topped with whipped cream. OMG!!! It was soooo gud. For the past 19 years I have been searching for anything similar.

Did you call the Subaru guy back yet? I had an Outback....they are great cars and will last forever!! and your saving $300 a month on a car payment! I`ve never heard of anyone having a $600 payment before I met you!

The Drs appt. was not good/not bad. The needle thing hurts and makes me all blurry and sore but it wasn't unexpected. He DID warn me last time that it may go on for a while. I am just not mentally prepared when he whips out that needle! I don't know HOW to prepare for that!!!

I know, that's a ton of money for a car but they did roll some of the last car we turned in early (lease) into it. New Car info below...

Mo. I am so sorry about the feet. It is so exhausting to have chronic issues. They just beat you down over time, huh? We are always here for you though and I just know that I couldn't have managed half as well without the Fockers! They are ALL amazing.

Well, we went down there at 4:30 pm. Bob is STILL there working on the "deal." He's not happy. Not at all. However, we did get the lease for $400 per mo. That probably sounds like alot but it's actually $70 cheaper a a month than the CR-V they quoted me at Honda. AND it's $235 dollars cheaper than my Pilot. They didn't want any cash at all to close the deal (which probably accounted for some of the higher than $375 per month quote) and they had it all gassed up.

I don't know WHAT is taking so long but here are the details:

2009 Subaru Forester AWD
Infinity Sound System w/ 6 CD
Heated Leather Seats
Pearl White paint
light gray interior

It's super cute, drives great and gets over 24 mpg. I only get about 15 mpg in the Pilot. The picture I posted is the actual color. It's pretty. I didn't really want to buy a car today, and I have to still make payments on the Pilot till March but the deal is done and now I don't have to worry about what I am going to drive when I come home from FL.
