Here's a suggestion for those whose kids mostly get gift cards and cash but still want a full looking tree.

What I/we do is stick the gift card or cash in a box we already have at home and then wrap that. It could be a DVD box, CD, shoe box, whatever you have handy. That way they still have a present to open and the tree looks full. Also to throw Alek and Erich off of guessing what is in the boxes I also put in pennies and marbles to disguise what could actually be inside.

What a great idea. Putting this one away for future use!

So there was just a showdown in our kitchen. Mom went into the fridge and started getting angry because a bottle of coke she bought a few days ago was no longer there. I didn't drink it and Erich says he didn't drink it and nobody else has been in the house since she bought it. I gently suggested that perhaps she drank it already and forgot. Well she blew a gasket and is now mad at me for calling her senile (not my wording, hers).

Met him through a friend at Chili's. As soon as I saw him...I liked him!

Jon likes him well enough. But, he's not a HUGE fan of me being in a relationship. He has told me repeatedly that he doesn't want me getting married. (remember...he's only ever had me in his life) This will be hard for Jon.

The motha likes him. Although they haven't spent TONS of time together since we live in different cities. She fell in love with him when he danced with my niece at a concert at the aquarium in Abq. He danced with that little girl all night long...twirled her around the gardens. Made me love him even more.

I know you are sick of hearing it, but I didn't get a chance to say anything yet!

I've been working on my cards this afternoon. I keep meaning to get them out, but then something else comes up. I got DD4 to take some Advil this afternoon, so she's feeling better. It's really amazing what that will do. She's up and playing and wants to put some clothes on! Of course, her fever will probably go up again when the meds wear off. I'm still hoping that it will break overnight and that she'll be able to go to her party at school tomorrow.

I'm sorry you have been having such a rough time. for your family including your furbaby!

Mel - Did you do the Redo? Sorry about those darn needles.

Hi and well wishes for everyone else.

I'm at work until 4 AM and I only had 4 hours sleep. I'll be draggin' booty by 11 PM. I'll probably be driving home in an ice storm - YAY! The weather service keeps pushing the storm back. I love my Indiana home but I could do without the extreme cold and ice. I can't imagine living futher up north!

Doug's tumor has shrunk again. The Doc says about 3 more doses of the chemo then we will discuss gamma knife for the tiny bit that is left. He has been doing great. Much better than I expected.

I'm meeting my brother for lunch tomorrow. He has some papers I need to sign to close our father's estate. Then it is done. Except for the IRS. I sent in some extra money to help cover what I would owe. I hope it was enough. I'll have to go to someone this year to deal with all of it. Yuk! I'm afraid I'll miss something if I attempt to figure it out by myself.

And I didn't get a chance to look at my mail today. I'm sure there are some Focker cards!

Jo If Judy was to save all the notes fron Steph along these lines ,we could paper the house !! Steph is the middlechild , by 30secs and Samantha does tend to remind her . There is definately something to the middle child theory !! Usually the only one whocares ( according to her is her Stepdad !! I guess noevilstepfather here !!
As for the colrs for the Bridesmaid I like burgandy!!I agree peach is not my color either . Seroiusly though I think it should be LIME GREEN!! Another question how many Groomsmen can you rustle up to go with the 200 bridesmaids !!

NOPE.. My "Focker Ornament" has not come yet

White Pines ARE VERY SOFT.. and glass ornaments are about all they will support.
That's the kind of tree I ALWAYS when out into the woods with Dad to get when I was growing up.

Okay...

Don't throw things...but Tera hasn't met him yet. T and I have been on and off. During our most serious time...Tera didn't live here. And both she and I have had lots going on, as you know. She will finally meet him this holiday.

T understands Jon and I have been just "us" for many years. He understands that Jon AND I will have some adjustments. It will be rocky...but T is an awesome man...and is great with kids! We will be fine. But, I'm expecting a bumpy road.

The wedding date has not been set yet. Next fall...at the earliest...as we would like to get the house settled and get Jon and all of us used to our new family first.

As for the house...we already have 2 different plans drawn up. We will be deciding on a house WITH Jon after the holiday. After we tell everyone about the wedding. The house should take approximately 4 months to build. I can absolutely post plans once we decide on a house. It will be a one-story, 4 bedrooms, with a casita. Split plan.

It's hard to explain what made me "go for it". He and I have been best friends for 2 years. After a separation, I just knew. He's been bugging me (for lack of a better term) for a while to just jump. It's a long story...but I didn't want to hold him back. Children are a thing he wanted...and I can't give him that. And marriage was not something I wanted either. We've come to an agreement, of sorts. To just live and let live. I'm still very nervous about the whole thing...not because I think it's wrong...but because it's such a change.

Jen said she would answer our questions, but if she's not here, let's start planning! One thing, Jen. Send an invitation to the President. We got a nice congratulatory note that I framed and hung next to our invitation. Also cameras for the tables. We would have missed so much if we had not had those. And my mother was kind and had them all developed whilst we were on our honeymoon so we could see them when we got back. Where are you honeymooning? I recommend Aruba!

He was supposed to be out of town for Thanksgiving and he ended up surprising me by coming back the day after the holiday. He set up a very romantic evening, and we began talking, and I think we sort of decided together. No ring. I want to pick my own ring.

The new home will be here in Clovis. Near my old work, in a new housing development.

And...T...I'd love your help planning. Except there will be nothing to plan. I don't want a big thing. Tera and I will be going to Vegas to scope a spot...and that will be it. There will be no big fuss. There will be no big party. It will be just Jon, Troy, and I. Loved ones are welcome...but this isn't about the wedding. It's about joining our family.

I'm not exactly your typical "wife". You know me and my different beliefs.

This is not about the piece of paper...it's more about a symbolic thing for me.

Ah...and I will be keeping my last name. I fought for a long time to get Jon away from his biological donor...and I had Jon's name changed so that his last name was the same as mine. So, I will not take his name after fighting that hard.

Well... if you want nice, I would recommend starting at the Bellagio - very pretty wedding chapel.
If you want different they do a lovely, romantic, intimate gondola wedding at the Venetian.
If you want fun - I recommend Drive-Thru chapel with Elvis!

Have fun, girl! Just make sure we have a bachelorette party!

You guys are hilarious! Planning Jen's wedding without her!

So, DH and his Dad are on their way to look at the car. I hope it's driveable because if it's not, that just adds to our many logistical problems. They have a second car, but it's still at the old house up three hours north of here!

MIL is out of traction now and neurologist came in while DH was there. He said she's doing well, but they're going to do more CT scans and an MRI to make sure of everything. They're also doing an abdominal CT because she's still complaining of belly pain (due to the seatbelt). I'm just wondering how fast the car was going that rear-ended them!

DD4 just got sick again about an hour ago. I have no idea what I'm going to do tomorrow. I just keep hoping she'll have a miraculous recovery today and someone will volunteer to sit for her tomorrow morning! The other option is to ask DH to work from home for a few hours. But he was home yesterday and is out again today. I'm not sure if his supervisor would be okay with that. I just wish one of my Focker friends lived across the street!

His name is T. He is the one I've dated on and off for a few years, but I refused to settle down. He talked me into it. He is a literacy specialist for the schools. He used to be a teacher, but has been with sped now for a few years. He's in his early 30s. He's sweet, kind, and amazingly smart.

Thank you for the congratulations, but it's really not necessary. This is going to take me some time to get used to. I'm not really a marriage type of gal. But, when you keep returning to the same place because it feels right, maybe it's time to take a chance.

I had planned on wrapping the kids presents tomorrow since it was the last day of school before vacation. but we have a whopper of a snow storm coming tomorrow and they cancelled school. I`ll have to figure something out. my little sister Sarah is coming tomorrow from Springfield. for the weekend. not the one with the kids who wants to move here..Sarah is a couple years younger,23 I think. no kids, very pretty. We have a christmas party Friday nite with a bunch of our friends. We each buy a game and exchange those, and drink and party. it should be fun!! I forgot to add about the christmas cards!!!
The kids seem to be kinda confused about me getting them! its funny. They keep looking at the pictures and asking, "whos that? and whos that?" Ben said he wishes he got to meet these people! I`ve gotten alot more from you guys and Scotts and DMs than from people I know. I told Sam that "maybe I need to get out more!" and I only sent all my cards out to everyone from here and the other 2 places. I didnt even do them for our friends and family yet!!!

OMG I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hasn't sent out my cards. I'm sending them out first thing tomorrow. I freaking need stamps and little things keep popping up that has prevented me from buying them and sending them out! So I'm sorry to whoever gets them late. I have loved receiving everyone's cards though.

I feel so behind on everything this year. I haven't put up the tree or decorations and honestly I still don't feel like it. We really don't have anything to put under it anyway. I have yet to buy a gift for my mom and bro and I have no clue what to get them. I didn't really want anything for Christmas so didn't ask for anything, so in reality there's no presents to put under a tree, which I guess is why I have no desire to put one up. I feel like just buying one of those fiber optic ones and putting it on the coffee table.

And now the BF and I are fighting. I know it's stupid little things, but it just doesn't feel like Christmas to me this year. Oh well.

Tomorrow is our Holiday party at work and also a friend of mine's birthday so gonna go out and have fun. It's so nice to have a day on the weekend off.
