Howdy!

Hello Ms. V! Glad you're back. Things were getting weird here without you. :rotfl2:

Talked with my sister tonight. She said the insurance guy finally came. They are getting a WHOPPING check for the damages, it's pretty much a GUT the whole house deal. They also cut her a check on the spot for removing the trees, limbs and debris. :thumbsup2 She said that she hired a family friend of my mom and dad's to do the contracting. He's using her DH as labor (he's laid off from his full time job for the winter anyway) and that will save money. In return, he's doing the work for a steal. She said maybe the tree was her Xmas miracle! LOL. The damage all around them is scary though. The live across the street from an 80 yr. old apple orchard and it's LEVELED. So sad. I spent many a fall day there with my dear grandparents.

She said the contractor said it will take about 4 weeks (hopefully) and they should be able to live there for most of the time once they get a new roof on the house and get it dried out!

She's in good spirits. She told me to thank you all again. I don't know if I've mentioned it, but my sis is a CNA (like Rachel) and she works with Alzheimer's patients almost exclusively. She has the biggest heart and the most amazing work ethic. (I got none of that...LOL) They work 2 or 3 jobs ALL THE TIME to afford that house. I am so glad the insurance company is trying help her out. They were struggling so badly that my gifts to her children were the only ones they were getting since all their money is going to the house. So, you can imagine it meant alot to her to hear that you all wanted to help.

So, thanks again. You guys are amazing. She promised to let me know if there was anything I could do. For now, she said she's just glad that she is still nursing Nate and that he sleeps through the night!!! There's a girl with her priorities straight, eh? :rotfl:

Mel

:confused3 If she doesn't share soon.......then we must "assume" pregnancy!

! :lmao:

O.K.... lets analyze this... Jen was supposed to have ALREADY had her "Surgery" because of her "issues" ... BUT it was "Postponed".. I forget the new date....

Soooo the new question may be WHY... postponed :rolleyes1

Otherwise... we are back to Engaged/complicated/engaged/married

Howdy!

Hello Ms. V! Glad you're back. Things were getting weird here without you.

Hmmmm is that directed at.... me :eek:

Wow............miss a few hours and Jen gets pregnant??

I'll have to add that to the poem............

:lmao:

OMG, was it ever! Not so bad today, but yesterday was just insane. :sad2:

SO much for the bad econmony huh? She said they had over 400 priority seating last night and another 500 tonight :faint:

:confused3 If she doesn't share soon.......then we must "assume" pregnancy!

She has already denied this:rolleyes1

Glad things are working out Mel. Please let me know if she needs anything anyway! :goodvibes

Off to bath Jimmy and get him into bed. Be back in a little while. Hopefully everyone won't ditch me like they did last night:rolleyes1

Okay, Gramma's handling Operation Clean Leo, so I'll give you a quick recap of our weekend at The World...

* Leo was NOT good. As in getting-a-whole-lot-of-coal-for-Xmas not good. :mad: He was mouthy and smart-aleky and a real PITA yesterday. I was PMSing and sick of holiday crowds. We made for a winning combination, no? :rolleyes:

* We got started late yesterday and arrived at AKL around 10:30am... it was a frekaing madhouse! Crazy - I've never seen a hotel lobby so packed with people. We did check in quickly, though, and our room was ready, so we checked it out quick.

I am officially in LOVE with AKV!! The only reason we were there was because I'd booked last night with points and I darned well wasn't going to lose them. I'm glad we went if only for a little sampling of AKV. T, here's your new home!

I do have a few sort-of complaints about the room: for two people staying one night, we were fine, but more than either of those and it would have been tight - the other side of the armoire is filled with an ironing board and the bottom section of the dresser holds the Pack-n-Play, so there's precious little room for clothes, let alone suitcases. And all those pillows? Great decoratively, but they take up a LOT of floor space when it comes time to actually sleep, lol! Otherwise, I thought it was a great space and it felt very roomy. Oh, and here was our Standard view:

3108193781_92c530071e.jpg

We also took a walk across the Lodge to look out the windows on the other side, where we found Kidani taking shape nicely!

3108215175_93e96db85e.jpg

* After checking out our room, we drove over to DTD to meet LL for lunch, She and her DH were in town for his work's holiday party and they were doing some shopping. OMG, I drove around and around and around and around looking for an empty parking space! Finally found one after throwing a tantrum on the phone with LL. Sorry again hun! :hug: We had a lovely lunch at WPE and it was good to sit down and catch up a bit, though Leo was still not behaving well. At all.

* Leo somehow managed to turn himself around after a forced rest period in the room and we took a bus to DHS to see the Osborn Lights. And One Man's Dream, which Leo strangely loves. :confused3 The lights were just what I needed to turn my frown into a smile, despite the mass of humanity jockeying for position on New York Street, or whatever it's called. this didn't hurt, either:
3108271111_cbe6d67b6c.jpg

That's called a "snowball" which, near as I can tell, is a $10 Long Island Iced Tea with a Holiday glow cube. :rolleyes:

The lights were fantastic, as usual!
3108259079_04c349f76d.jpg

* Today was MK and, despite a late-ish start, it was HEAPS better than yesterday! Leo's mood was improved and the crowds didn't seem so bad. We arrived around 9:30 and left around 2 and did:
Buzz
Pooh
Pan
Barnstormer x 2
Jungle Cruise
Pirates
lunch at CHH
People Mover
snacks at Main St. Bakery

We hit the road for home... only to get stuck in a traffic jam jsut outside WDW. We covered a mile in 45 minutes. :headache: :headache: :headache: It finally cleared and we got home around 4:30pm.

All in all, not a terrible time - I've just plain had enough WDW for a while. I'm tired of crowds and I'm tired of obnoxious people and I'm beyond tired of expensive crappy food that takes monumental effort to find, order and eat. So much so that I'm blowing a whole year's worth of points on a 1 bedroom for our next vacation; we'll be eating most meals in-room. Take that Mouse! pirate:

That's a great view for standard... I'd suffer with that anytime.

Somehow... I expect a change on the whole 1 bedroom thing.. come March.. you be thinking clearer... She didn't mean it Mickey... :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Sorry it was not a great get away... maybe Leo was being a stinky butt because of his Pink eye issue ??

Thank you Janet. I'll let her know you're standing by!

Thanks Katt, that is very generous. She's refusing any help yet, on the grounds that she might REALLY need it later. The offer is so sweet though and I just feel so lucky to know you! (all of you!) Thank you again.

I thought everyone would be busy getting holiday stuff done! Well, I'll have lots to read tomorrow. :surfweb:

We're home, we're exhausted. Before I post pics and tell about the weekend, I'd like to get an idea of who watches So You Think You Can Dance besides V and Kat. What a cool weekend. Now, I'm going to kiss on the boys and relax.

See you all tomorrow. :goodvibes

I'm not pregnant. But, very funny. You all must think you can trick me into saying.

Heh heh.

Jen is stubborn.

I'll only say, sometimes things change.

And I think we should arrange a Focker meet.

Me!!! :wave:

QUICK EVERY BODY LOG OFF BEFORE JANET GETS BACK !!

I am going to bed... did not sleep well last night as I did not take a "Lortab" for my shoulder pain. :headache: But I took one about an hour ago.. and I'm fading fast.

Come January I will go see the surgeon. I THINK I have a "Rotator Cuff" Issue. I had one with my right shoulder.. but with a "labral tear" and missing cartliidge.. and it did not matter. It was just one more pain.
Both Shoulders are messed up so sleeping has to be drug induced.

Hope I can get this over with quick I have Tampa Florida and Orlando Florida Plans for April. :banana: :banana:

Well, you see.........generally goats don't nurse more than 3-4 months (even if you keep them together and don't send the boys to the auction :eek: but Noodles kept her babies right with her and let them nurse for over 9 months. She still keeps them close and calls for them if they get to far away....and today tried to butt Bear away from them!
So she won the "Mother Goat of the Year" Award!

Yea, no. But I'm glad you're home and had fun! :goodvibes

Shocking! :eek:

A fabulous idea! At the wedding pavilion and we should dress appropriately? :cool1:

Reid has a hernia and will have to have surgery. Luckily the surgeon can see them tomorrow and hopefully do the surgery with in a week. Apparently this is common in boys and will be done out patient. The pediatrician made it sound like no big deal so I hope he's right!

OMG! :lovestruc Thanks for posting those, V! I'm so in love, and I cant' freakin' stay there until 2010!

Can you believe I figured out a way to have enough points for August AND 5 nights in a Studio at AKL next December? :worship: Then I got shot down when I told Andy - he took the last 2 weeks of December this year and can't do it again next year. D'Oh! :headache:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just skimmed over the last few pages....
And basically go that Jen's getting married or she's pregnant or she's moving to Florida. :confused3
So I went and took my Coding Test today. 5 hours and 30 minutes of stress and I was finished. I find out in 2 weeks if I passed - I have a feeling I didn't, so if I don't bring it up again, you'll know why. :laughing:
Got the lights up on the house today and decorated the yard, etc. Tomorrow I should be able to get the inside done as well and then we'll be all ready for Santa. :santa:
Oh carp! I have to get my ornament out tomorrow. Let me just say, I completely forgot to wrap it in pretty paper, and I forgot a gift tag and basically I suck, but it's a really cute ornament and I hope that makes up for my lack of festiveness (is that even a word???). :blush:
I've known many kiddos who have had it done. I'm sure he'll be fine. But poor baby. :hug:
A fabulous idea! At the wedding pavilion and we should dress appropriately? :cool1:
I'm thinking the same thing! :thumbsup2 :banana:
It is very common, Angela. My nephew had one as well and they did the outpatient surgery and all was well in a few days! I'm sure everything will go smoothly for Reid. Sending lots of pixie dust his way! :wizard:
The hernia surgery is what Mr Diz just had. His was too big for laproscopic surgery. He has been in a lot of pain and told me it was a lot worse than he thought. He is going back to work on Monday, but is still in pain today.
If they do it laproscopic, it is supposed to be a quick recovery.
Mel so glad everything is working out with the damage to the house !! Thanks God for insurance !!
