Hello ladies, we are back. Got back last night around midnight. It was great but we have decided we do need to branch out on the next family trip. Nana was also sick for a day and a half and felt like she missed a lot of her trip because of it. I think it was the last straggles of that nasty stomach thing that went around WDW.
Mom and I decided we do not get enough grown up time while at WDW and would like some. We are going to go back for a weekend to explore Epcot during the Food and Wine Festival and I am trying to get one of my friends to join us. I also know a few of you are planning a trip during FW and would love to meet up one night if possible.
Everyone remind me next year to take an extra day driving home. I did this last year and said I would take it and didn't. It is horrid driving back in two days. So next family trip I need to be reminded how bad it was to drive home.
I did take a lot of pictures but none of the pirate room. When I first got to the room the camera was not with me and then we trashed the room up with all of our stuff and I would not take pictures of it like that. I refused to have mousekeeping for 3 of our days because the room was such a mess. No one should have to clean up around all our stuff.
The CM's were as always very good. I as always had several moments of extra pixie dust. One of the big ones was at Imageworks. Bug and I had a photo taken there last trip. I forgot to pick it up and could never get a hold of anyone when I called. I decided on a long shot to check and see if they still had it. The manager told me it would have only been saved for 90 days. I told him that was fine I just wanted to check, just in case. He then told me to have a photo retaken for free. I told him that was not necessary and that we would be leaving soon and the same thing would happen this time as last. I thanked him again and was ready to leave when he asked if I had 5 minutes to spare. He then took us over to the wall told me to pick a pose from the bottom two rows. He took the photo and went straight back to process it for us. When he handed it to me he had not only printed the 8x10 but also a puzzle for Bug. He gave them both to me for free and sent us on our way. It was way more than I ever expected and it just made my night.
The cake we ordered for Bug's birthday was just like I ordered. The made sure everything was orange. Even the leaves on the flowers were orange. I also do not know if they have the Mickey sprinkles separated by color or if someone had to do this by hand, but all Mickey head sprinkles were orange. It was a great cake and the staff at WCC made Bugs birthday celebration very special. Walter was wonderful with Bug and even made sure he got a stick pony for the parade. Bug had a great time and gave Walter a big piece of birthday cake.
T-Rex is awesome and I feel a must do for any trip. We were seated quickly. The service is great and the Cotton Candy Apple drink is yummy. We all loved it and did not find it dinosaurs to be near as scary as the animals at Rain Forest.
The Pirate Cruise from Yacht Club is by far the best deal at WDW. My son had a blast and got many free items. He thought Captain Stinky Feet was a real pirate and wanted to go on it again. The loot at the end was in a little metal treasure chest. He also got a plastic sword and eye patch. All this was placed in a black cloth bag for him to keep. Before they left the dock each child was transformed into a pirate with a pirate bandanna. The cloth bag is not real sturdy but it will do for play at home.
All in all it was a great trip. We are just ready for a different kind of trip next time. A lot less hectic pace is in store for us next trip.
