My dog is in the dog house....no pun intended. He took himself on a little adventure to my bathroom and got into the trashcan.

Max does this all the time. I've taken to putting the trash can up on the back of the toliet tank so that he can't get to it. I try to keep the door shut, but DH isn't good about that.

Oh and I'm doing a "GO AWAY RAIN" dance for you! We're supposed to have showers on Thursday and Friday. The good news is it'll keep locals away and you'll have an empty park.

Thanks for the "Go Away Rain Dance" T! We appreciate it. As for the cookie sales, I have no idea how the other girls in our troop are doing. Hopefully they're selling some. Last year we made a decent amount of money, but almost half of it was in booth sales. Just FYI, I will ship just about anywhere too, so let me know by Wednesday if anyone needs some cookies.

Well the Cookie rally was ... interesting. Thousands of Girl Scouts, 80 degree weather, 5 little girls under my supervision and NO ALCOHOL. And I'm bushed! Honestly though, my girls had fun, so it was worth it.

I've never gone to our Cookie Rally. The training was bad enough! I didn't stay for the actual training this year though. After listening to a woman read me the manual last year, I decided I have better things to do with my time this year. I went to the meeting, grabbed my materials and left!

Does anyone notice anything different about me??

YAY!!!! Jen's siggie and PM-ability are back! Good luck with ROFR. We heard back pretty quickly from ours and it wasn't a problem at all.

14??!!! It was HOT today - 80 degrees. We were right near LAX and watching the planes go by made me sad for Disney.

D was in Palm Springs overnight Friday, said it was hot... Sigh.

Honestly though, my girls had fun, so it was worth it.

WE have water, I repeat, we have water. Brown, muddy water. Now I have to clean the friggin banos again. I just had to go be all Susie Homemaker this morning and clean the banos when I just as well could have put it off another week. Friggin frackin!

I'm glad it was back, but I'm sorry. I hate recleaning. It's like how my boys always spill milk or OJ 10 minutes after I mop. Always.

Nice! It's truly snowing hard here. Somehow I missed that this was coming until D asked me to check weather yesterday for skiing. I think we'll let today's snow come down, and ski on good new stuff tomorrow since there's no school.

We were sitting around watching Dexter on demand last night, and we were between episodes, so I checked my e-mail.

My first boyfriend, whom I've remained friends with (D knows and likes him, it's fine - and yes, he just friended me on FB this week ) had just sent me an e-mail that his 18 year old nephew had died in a car accident yesterday morning. I remember him being so excited to become an uncle - his sister is much older and so we were juniors in h.s. My mom taught me and 1st bf, but also the nephew. He was an only child. I can't imagine what his mom is feeling. So, I called my mom, figuring the small-town grapevine would have worked, but she hadn't heard, so I made my mom cry, too. It's just sad.

I looked it up in their local paper and news this morning, and there's not much info - single car accident.

Anyway, on to something happier...

We have no plans for today - snow removal and play, probably, but will likely ski tomorrow.

I think Mrs. T may have run the cookie rally for her service unit one year. I know she's been troop cookie mom at least once and SU cookie mom one year. Our dining room looked like a GS cookie warehouse, proximity was way too tempting. With her starting work this year, she's pretty overwhelmed and will not be re-upping as SU director next year.

Thanks Jo! I did. My brother met up with a friend to go a cigar bar, definitely not my thing. I've got extremely mild asthma, but cigar smoke is one thing that tend to get me hacking and coughing. So, I ended up hanging with my cousins and some his relatives. It was also nice to catch up with his mom, with whom I got a chance to reminisce. I may need to e-mail her some photos to identify relatives that I was too young to know.

Only caught up about a page pack, so I hope everyone is doing well! Happy Sunday and Good Morning!

Well, I hung out with my brother for a couple hours last night. It was nice to just discuss families and catch-up over a quiet dinner. It's the first time we've really had a chance to hang out since mom passed away. We did talk about her a bit, and there were definitely some painful moments. But, I think we are starting to refocus on the happy memories rather than her passing, the sickness and the last few months of her life. After dinner, I went over to my cousin's and my brother headed out to meet his friend.

I think visiting with the family here has also helped. We always travelled to this part of Florida when I was growing up. So, the geography has some good feelings associated with it. We'd travel down here winter break and summer break for quite a few years, with a side trip to WDW during the drive up or back. We would meet up with the cousin whose getting married and his family on those occasions. Our parents would hang out, and we'd play or swim.

I also spent some time catching up with his brother and his new wife; I had missed his wedding because of what was going on with my mom. They seem to be a great couple. They've already added me on FB, so we'll be able to stay in touch better.

Looking back on this post, it's not quite the quick update that I had originally intended. It took a while to think it through and type - not a single smilie in the update portion, how thoroughly uncharacteristic of me. I'm guessing I just needed to work through it all. Thank you for being here for me. (feeling a bit more normal now)

All of the CC's went out of business here in December. I didn't think they had any good deals until the very end. It's amazing what people will buy just because things are 20% off, though. They kept their discount at 20% off for a while and I thought I could find things at WalMart for cheaper on regular price. The last week, I got a real good deal on a DVR for my bedroom, though. I hope the sales are better for you. People were getting really good prices on TVs, but we were not looking for that.
