OK need some advice....
Stay with me, this is semi soap opera....
Back story. I dated Joe (first serious BF). We broke up. I started dating Mike, a semi mutual friend. Mike sister, Christine, started dating Joe. Still with me? Mike and I break up, Joe & Christine stay together. Eventually the 2 of them get married. I was invited to their wedding. I was just with KC when I went to the wedding and brought him. Times were tight. I was also not invited to too many weddings in the past, didn't really know etiquette. We bought them a gift (a nice frame set) and it was the only gift there, everything else was envelopes.
Fast fwd to our wedding about 2 years later. I invite them. I had only spoken to Joe a handful of times but we were always good friends. P.S. Christine and I were close at some point too, even after me and her brother breaking it off. They declined to come (the only no we got btw) and I didn;t hear anything for a looooong time.
Why do I care? Because i have 5 boxes of stuff at Joe's parent's house (where we lived) stored since I moved out of there. When I got this apartment I got some of the stuff (furniture and my cat had been there too) but the boxes weren't reachable(in a crawl space blocked off). I was told to come back in the summer and we'd be all set. I know they still have the stuff.
It's been 4 years since I tried to get this stuff. I had to email Mike to beg him to have Joe call me, nothing. I got 2 emails the whole time, telling why the time isn't good for me to go. Last I heard his dad wasn't well, so I feel bad pestering them. Mike has since "Unfriended" me on facebook & myspace.
I think this whole thing stems back to Christine not thinking I did enough for their wedding and on top of that being an ex.
Your thoughts?????
I just found her on facebook and sent a friend request just to see what happens.
The stuff is really meaningful to me, old photos and yearbooks- things I can't do without, otherwise i'd have given up a while ago. I am ready to get this stuff whenever is good for them, but they never get back to me.
