Team Focker Watch, Part 12. Have we jumped the shark yet?

Wow! I can't believe you guys are still here!!!!!! :goodvibes Way to keep it goin' fellow Fockers! :thumbsup2

I am pretty sure I am getting/am sick as I don't think it is normal to wake up and then fall down immediately after getting out of bed from dizziness. It hasn't improved much over the day either. I feel fine if lying down or sitting in a still position but if I move my head up down or sideways I feel like I am going to pass out. On top of that I woke up with a bloody nose. No other signs of illness though, weird huh?

I'm hoping that the dizziness is gone by the morning or getting to and from class tomorrow is going to be interesting.

Oh Lessa be careful:hug::hug:

:lmao: Glad it's still on! I need to unpack my Focker lanyard for our upcoming trip  I'll be watching you. hehehe

Lessa, are you feeling any better? That doesn't sound good.

Today I have made a list of two things that I want to get done, not that need to get done, today. Don't want to exert myself too much! :rotfl2: Other than that not much. My sister is working since she has a group coming in Wednesday. She'll be the only one there so she should be able to get a lot done. My BIL is staying home with Reid, so I'm sure they will go to the park and lunch since Reid loves to eat out. He was upset that we were having pizza at home last night, but he got over it when we heard the pizza guy was coming to the house. :rotfl2:My BIL opened the door and he's, Hi, pizza guy! :lmao:

Morning, all...

What a night. :sad2: D couldn't decide if he should go stay at a hotel close to his airport last night, because of the weather. Finally decided to stay here and just get up extra early, because the snow wasn't starting 'til later, so it probably wouldn't be that bad when he left in the middle of the night. Fine. They wanted to take off at 7:00, which means D's supposed to be there at 5:30.

We went to bed around 10:00, then, and his alarm went off at 2:30. It's an iPod dock alarm, and yet it just beeped. He said, "What the...?" and tried to turn on the light to see why - no power. Of course, with our well and pump system, no power = no water. And then he looked out the window - a good 4 inches of snow on the ground already. :headache:

So, at 2:30 he was up snowblowing so that he could leave and shower at the hangar (they have a super nice locker room that hardly anyone ever uses. :rotfl:) I was picturing the kids up at 6:30 as they usually are on a weekend/holiday - with no power, fighting all morning long.

So, about 3:10 he came in and grabbed his stuff and left. I tried to go back to sleep, but the adrenaline was going, so I couldn't fall asleep. I was tossing and turning at right around 4:00 when I heard the hum of electricity coming back on. That part was good, and I called D to let him know I was good with that - and he'd gotten about 10 miles so far. :sad2: I was still worried about him driving, so I asked him to text me when he got to work. I STILL couldn't fall back asleep, so I was fully awake just before 5:00 when I got the text (which is good - the highway must have been pretty OK - he should have had time to shower and "be ready" by 5:30. :thumbsup2 I thought then that I might be able to sleep, since I knew he was OK - but the neighbor's plow guy came. :rotfl:

Anyway, it was probably close to 6:00 before I finally really slept again. The boys didn't get up until almost 8:00, and thankfully they just came right downstairs. I did finally get up at 9:00. I feel a nap in my future. I mean, technically I probably slept from 10:30 - 2:30 and then again from 6-9, so that's 7 hours, it's just... :lmao:

When I took the dog out, there's probably another good 2-3 inches on top of where D did the snowblowing, and the front walk therefore is at least 6 inches deep. The city plow guys have apparently come by twice, because I had the pile at the top of the driveway when I took the dog, then watched them come by again just about 15 minutes ago. But, it's still snowing, so I am not rushing to get back out there. However, it's heavy, wet stuff and supposedly we'll get back above freezing today, so I need to get it out before it starts to melt and will be too heavy to go through the blower. :headache:

The boys and I had talked of still trying to ski this afternoon, but frankly, now, we'd have to leave in an hour, I still need to snowblow, they've not had breakfast, and I can't imagine the side steep roads up to the ski hills will be very nice. Plus, we often go on Sunday afternoons because they run good "end of the weekend" deals, but since today's Monday and a holiday, all the resorts are doing "holiday pricing" which isn't worth it to me. If we had all gone all day, it would have been OK, but yeah...

I need to get the kids their breakfast, so I'm off for now. I'm sure I'll be back - hope you all have a nice day. :grouphug:

Pork Pies are NOT nasty !! I really miss them !!Yummy!!!!Need some picked onions and some Branston . Oh my my mouth is watering !!!!
:rotfl2: You need a visit to the UK Rosie, do you still have any family here?

:thumbsup2 Yep---you realize with a country only 250 years old, that we have limited castles here! So we get excited about the real and fake ones! ;)
:rotfl2:

So what were they and did you get them done? :rotfl2:

So, at 2:30 he was up snowblowing so that he could leave and shower at the hangar (they have a super nice locker room that hardly anyone ever uses. :rotfl:)
What did the neighbours think of that? :rotfl2: Hope your electricity stays on and you all stay safe

Played golf today :yay: I just did 9 holes and because of the weather we were on temporary greens (the flag is on a piece of grass infront of the real green to protect it in bad weather) which normally means your score goes up but I did 9 holes in level par today :cheer2: I'm meant to be 6 over and I was 0 over :thumbsup2 Maybe I need to have some time off every so often to play well :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

We also bought the paint for our bedroom so we have no excuses now, we're doing the wall behind the bed chocolate chip (dark chocolate) and the other walls a whisper of chocolate chip (creamy colour with a hint of chocolate) so I'll be OK if I get hungry at night :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Nope. :guilty: It is starting to get better. Hopefully a good sleep tonight will cure me.

How are you feeling today?

Today I have made a list of two things that I want to get done, not that need to get done, today. Don't want to exert myself too much!
IT;s a holiday, you need to rest;)

:My BIL opened the door and he's, Hi, pizza guy! :lmao:

How cute:goodvibes

So, at 2:30 he was up snowblowing

Your neighbors must have loved that:rolleyes1

I called D to let him know I was good with that - and he'd gotten about 10 miles so far.

Oh no, I didn't realize you expected to get that much. Do you think the kids will be off tomorrow?

but the neighbor's plow guy came.

Payback for snowblowing at 2:30:lmao:

That sounds really nice. Pictures when it is donepopcorn::

+++++++++++++++++++++

Good afternoon all. Hope you are all having a lovely day. This morning Jimmy and I got up and went to his school for the MLK day of service. We made a craft to be given to a nursing home. Really cute. They made pouches that the seniors can put in their walkers or wheelchairs to carry tissues, or their eye glasses, or other small things they need but can't carry in their hands becasue they have to hold on the walker. Jimmy was quite proud of himself.:goodvibes

Then we ran to Target to return the Spongebob Connect Four that my Brother and SIL gave him for Christmas (he already has it) and he picked out 2 power rangers to replace it.

Now we are home and just hanging out. Jim is at his mothers taking down her Christmas decorations, so he won't be home until dinner time. I am going to walk Tinkerbell and throw in some luandry.

BBL:flower3::grouphug:

It's raining. And I'm crabby. No Disneyland today. That is all. :headache:

Hope you all are enjoying your day. :)

CE: A nap sounds perfect right about now. :goodvibes

Janet: That craft sounds really cute. :thumbsup2

Lessa: Sounds like it might be vertigo? I'd still see a doctor.

Angela: That's cute that Reid like to eat out. Maddie did, too when she was little. Evan, not so much.

You should see all the improvements they've made in the last 5 years. You wouldn't recognize the place. It's fantastic! :goodvibes

Jim and I were just talking about trying to plan another trip out there. Not sure when though, we are really trying to be grown ups and pay some things off, etc before we plan anymore big trips, etc. If we do I want to go longer than 5 days (which was the length of our last trip) and do more things that we never got to do.

It's raining. And I'm crabby. No Disneyland today. That is all. :headache:

Just put a poncho on:confused3

Janet: That craft sounds really cute. :thumbsup2

It was really easy too! Something you could probably do with the Brownies. Let me know I will send you the instructions!

Maddie did, too when she was little. Evan, not so much.

Jimmy did when he was littler, then didin't, know is back to liking it again:confused3

What did the neighbours think of that? :rotfl2: Hope your electricity stays on and you all stay safe

I haven't talked to the ones on that side of the house today. :rolleyes1

Congrats! :)

Oh no, I didn't realize you expected to get that much. Do you think the kids will be off tomorrow?

No, it's stopped, and our town/area is very well prepared and good at snow removal. ;) I can't imagine why they'd cancel.

Payback for snowblowing at 2:30:lmao:

Other side. ;)

What did you decide to do?

We're just here - Woody's at the neighbor's, playing, and Buzz did the construction of the hat (but not the decorating - still, it's much better to have some of it done.)

Jimmy was quite proud of himself.:goodvibes

Very nice! And the zoo looks lovely.

CE: A nap sounds perfect right about now. :goodvibes

I know, and I've not gotten one yet.

*******************************************************
Ugh. So, I went to go snowblow, but called D first to see how things were, and he'd not even left yet. Poor guy. (He's gone now, but... so glad all that drama this morning led to a departure at 11:00.)

Anyway, I was nearly done snowblowing - just had the walk to run up and down - and it quit working. It's something with the auger - the engine goes, but the auger won't turn, and if I try to run it, the engine quits. I called Deb's DH to see if he had any thoughts - we've still got the warranty, even though the guy was just here before Christmas - but I didn't want to call and set that up if there might be something ridiculously easy, and by then D was gone and I couldn't get hold of him to ask.

Deb's DH was at an eye doctor's appointment with DD5 up north of my house, so on the way home (and we're pretty on the way) he's going to come look. If he doesn't see anything, I'll call for service. He's handy. :thumbsup2 Our one neighbor has a snowblower and is a great guy, but he's always calling D for mechanical help, so I kind of figured he wouldn't be able to help with this. :rotfl2: I needed a mechanical type guy for this...

So, he should be showing up any minute, so I can't take a nap. :( :rotfl: I've been just doing silly stuff - like helping with Buzz's hat, did the dishes, a little computering (though not much), worked a bit on a classroom project for Woody's teacher... and can't believe it's already after 2:00.

CE Sorry about your interrupted sleep!!

That sounds so pretty. Our room still needs painting too.

They made pouches that the seniors can put in their walkers or wheelchairs to carry tissues, or their eye glasses, or other small things they need but can't carry in their hands becasue they have to hold on the walker. Jimmy was quite proud of himself.:goodvibes

I hope he got a nap in sometime.

As I was cleaning the shower doors and one came off the track. :headache: Of course I can't figure out how to get it back on. Luckily I'm not having company before Mitch gets back to fix it, but this is what frustrates me. Something that should be no big deal ends up being one.

I did clean out the linen closet which took almost an hour. I knew it was needed, but didn't realize how badly. ;)

Has anyone read Knit Two the sequel to The Friday Night Knitting Club? It's ok, but I really liked the first one and this one is not living up to it. I'm finished with all my library books and have some that are to be delivered but are not here yet.

Just put a poncho on:confused3
A what? I doubt a poncho will save us.... it's STORM WATCH 2010, here. :rotfl2:

It was really easy too! Something you could probably do with the Brownies. Let me know I will send you the instructions!
Yes, please! :thumbsup2

She does want me to take her tanning later sooooo maybe that's why:rotfl2:Has anyone else heard or seen ,how tanning clears up acne !! Steph's skin is clear for the first time in years !!!:cloud9::banana:
I'd heard of that before. I know the dermatologist has a blue light that they use to also clear up acne. It's actually the heat that's clearing the acne and bacteria that's causing the acne.

*************************************************************
Jeeze, we've got a nice storm brewing here. Not good for the burn areas, though. I hope the hills hold up!

Just chillaxin', doing some internet searching for Brownie field trips and my usual :laundy: I know, exciting, right?:rotfl2:
