We're at starbucks whilst tink is at pinkalicious performing arts camp. Ds and I are both knitting. People keep stopping him and asking about his project. It's probably unusual seeing an 8 year old knit at a coffee shop.

Hi Fockers! It's been awhile but I've been on The Dis more and more these past few days trying to research things for our trip. I hope to stick around a little more.

School has been good and keeping me busy...along with the kiddos. We have been having a good summer so far.

Our trip is less than 2 months away and while I can't wait for it, I'm nervous at the same time. How the heck is this going to work with just 1 of me and 2 of them? We go places here by ourseles all the time, but I think I need to test this out at a local amusment park to see how things go. Maybe that'll help?

Tonight we are going to the local park. They are showing a movie (Goonies) It is supposed to be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Hot this weekend we are thinking of heading to the shor tomorrow, just for the day. othing definite yet. THen on Sunday the inlaws are invading for dinner.

so of course my dryer dies......sparks and all.....up in a blaze of glory....

remember my washer died 2 days before my cruise.....WHY didn't I replace the dryer too?? Oh yeah---another $350...

Off to either Daran's mom's house to dry clothes or the laundrymat--kinda a pain either way.

Goood morning all. Just another quick pop in. I have to go get dressed and ready to head out. We have decided to hang around the city for the day. We are heading down to the historic area (Betsy Ross, Liberty Bell, Indepdence Hall etc) and then head to the zoo for the Sunset Safari from 4pm to 8pm. SHould be fun!

Tomorrow I will do the and the cleaning and the cooking. Jims parents are coming for dinner.

It's a lazy day here for us. I have drug sheets to finish up since they are due next week and some other homework to do. Lindsey has been on the computer all morning and it is driving me nuts! She would spend all day on it if I didn't make her get off to go play outside.

Our trip to Disney is in September (9/11-19 and staying at POP) and I was going to surprise the kids with it but decided to tell them. Once things started showing up in the mail they got suspicious. I think we'll do fine, just a little worried. I'm more worried about how 3 will fit in one seat on some rides, but Lindsey is my little dare devil and may be OK with sitting in front of me and DR.

I liked DR's new language !!! Very interesting !!

Just home from the Graduation Party !!My bosses son graduated and Phil and I were the only ones from work she invited !! Phil however quit to be MR MOM!! So I was the only one !! Judy and kids and her ex or maybe not ex went !!The party was down by the Lake and she had the pavillion closest to the Lake !We all enjoyed the peacefulness of the water and the lightning bouncing off the water Waaaaay out !!Carol had enuff food for the 6th Division and I did my best to help her reduce leftovers
Phil and his 3 daughters , remember Bree who was soooo sick a few months ago she is a DOLL. taking her first steps and the best little thing !!In true Phil form he picked on me unmercifully much to everyone's amusement Samantha has dubbed him her HEROSo we had a great time !!!!

Where is everyone?

I have a question for all my focker friends.
Alpha, my oldest wants a futon to replace his bed. I like the thought of giving him more room but I am afraid that he will outgrow it in just a couple of years. What do you all think? Have your children ever had non-traditional beds?

FWIW we are needing to buy a new bed anyway. Tau is still in his toddler bed and so we were looking at getting Alpha a new bed and give Tau his old one. So whether we buy a futon or a regular bed we still need to buy something.

Rise and shine

Sat, June 19

We have adjusted to French time----meaning that we go to bed after midnight and get up after 9 am! We decided that Papa Joe must be on French time all the time!

Breakfast at the Hilton (free!)---chocolate crossaints --I love these--probably a good thing I can't find them in Marion or that would be another 10 pounds!

They also have great yogurt in tiny glass jars which was really good! They like things in little glass jars--tiny jellies, etc---and we decided stuff tastes better in little glass jars than in plastic!


I wanted to do a tour....bus, boat, didn't matter....
Family did NOT want a tour---they wanted to see things on their own.

See....they are not happy....but notice they ARE on the boat!

I won......we did a boat tour on the Seine.........

Turns out, the family was probably right on this one....it was a little cold...even with blankets....and whilst the tour WAS in 7 different languages, by the time it got around to English, you were past whatever you were supposed to see.

One thing that was pretty cool was the bridges---built a LONG time ago by....people long ago.....(hmm...Romans, old French people?? can't remember!)---anyway, they are really pretty and decorative!

We need bridges like these!

After we get off the boat....we need to find a potty before we get on the train to Versaille.

Now, since this is PARIS, they have very sophisticated porta-potties ----
they are fully mechanical and sanitized after each use! This one was free, but we learned you better have some spare euros in your pocket or you could be up that creek!

Then we jump onto the train to Versaille!

Good morning all. We had a lovely day yesterday. The Phillies and the city have created 20 Phillie Phanatic Statues and placed them throughout the city. The Cub Scouts put out a challenge to see how many each scout could get. Jimmy has accepted his mission

So we headed to the historic area where 5 of them are located. Then we headed to the zoo where they were having their "Sunset Safari" Members stay in the zoo from 4 - 8pm and get to see the night feedings of the animals and walk around the zoo. After the zoo we took the kids for ice cream. Got home about 9:00ish. Got Jimmy bathed and into bed, and then we porch hopped with the neighbors until about 1:00am. We all slept in this morning

Was going to post some pictures, but photobucket is taking forever. As soon as they are uploaded I will post them!

Today is laundry, grocery shopping, and Jim's parents and sister coming over for dinner. I am roasting a chicken and making mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce (not making canned), dinner rolls, carrots, asparagus, and fresh strawberry shorcake for dessert
