Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Mean mother! :rotfl:Next she'll be asking for a car.
:rotfl2: They can't drive here till they're 17 (maybe 18 by the time she's old enough) so that gives me time to save :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

I just booked a trip to see my aunt, cousin, etc and my friend who was here for my birthday. They live about 30 minutes apart, so I'll be with Karen a few days and then go to my aunt's. And my aunt said she'll pay for my ticket, so that means an upgrade to First Class for me. :woohoo: That I'll pay for not her, but I can afford it since she's buying the actual ticket. :teeth:
Sounds fantastic, where do they live?

What a mess. So an hour on the phone with them this morning, then when KC left for work I called several places. We're using our minutes this month!
I'm not sure how the US taxes work but that sounds horrid :hug::hug::hug:

;)

TAZ got a couple of great gifts from her youngest for MD.
That’s wonderful!!

CE said D got a new miter saw. Her Gran was not doing so well with the feeding tube.
:hug:

ROSIE is hoping for a Disney visit in Oct.
Come on Rosie, I’ll be arriving on Oct. 19th!

Z is still searching for DVC. She said ‘Leap Year’ and ‘Ironman 2’ were good movies.
I’d like to see I2 but may not have the time.

JANET was getting things ready for the O/N trip at the zoo for the boys. They loved it. She also did some smooshing with the principal about Jim getting a job. She had a crazy Monday.
I hope the chatting with the principal works.

JO won a picnic basket. She had a bunch of 12 year olds stay over on Saturday. She posted a pic of the b-day cakes at post #1067.
Neat cakes.

KAT and KC are joining a gym. Her interview went a bit south due to the store hours. She still hasn’t heard from the census bureau. They are having some tax issues due to a friend messing them up when her mom passed.
Can you get any more drama squeezed into your life?? :rolleyes:

ANGELA said Mitch will be home for Reid’s B-day at Chef Mickey’s.
:hug::hug:

T is listening to mocking birds.
I love listening to the birds out in the country.

Happy belated Mother’s Day to all of you!

My weekend in Ohio went well. However, my return home did not. I’m too tired and frustrated to explain. I’m sure everything will work its’ way out.

I work the next couple of nights. I’ll get back here after that.

Sounds fantastic, where do they live?
North Carolina

I'm glad you had a nice visit, but so sorry that things aren't going well at home. :hug:

A friend and I were going shopping today, but yesterday she wasn't feeling well, so I don't know if we are or not. Which is fine because I don't really need anything. And that has stopped me when? :rolleyes1

Morning... a quick scan tells me hugs are needed by some Focker Friends :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I'm sorry guys; sending you all good vibes for a better day.

After a day back to the grind, I'm ready for another vacation. :rolleyes: It's not like anything really crazy was going on; I'm just so tired of trying to juggle umpteen things at once. But our WDW weekend was great; beautiful weather and Leo had a fantastic Bday. I'll be reporting on it in my PTR soon! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure how the US taxes work
Don't feel bad...no one really knows how our taxes work! :confused3

CE---what's going on with your grandma now? Not tolerating the Tube feeding??

Well, I'm finally off today---I had to work every day this past week as the director was on vacay---confirms my decision to stay part time! But I did make some extra $$ for the trip! Which is coming up soon---can't read my ticker from here. Off today and tons of stuff on the list....and Daran is either in LAX or DFW----he was stuck somewhere in between as of midnite last nite. Hope he made it to DFW......probably should try to figure that out but can't call him during meeting times.

Oh---remember all my problems with my washer?? Well, it picks this week to officially DIE.:sad2:

Frigidaire Affinity front loader:
Cost= $800
Repairs to date= $300 (2.5 years)
Needed repairs now=$200

So.......I went to Lowes and bought a $360 regular washer which will be delivered tomorrow. And the state of VA will give me $75 if they haul away this piece of crap for "recycling."

Just LOVED spending that before my trips........but they did have 12 month free financing, and I was having trouble deciphering the wiring diagram for the control board.....yes, I tried!

So, Z----what's the weather down there?? Will fly to FLL on Sat. It's freezing here---we have frost. Seriously.

My washer is a 16yo Kitchen Aid that has only had a few minor problems, one Mitch was able to fix himself. The repairman did say those were so much easier to repair than the high tech ones because they have fewer parts, so you made a good choice. :thumbsup2 My sister's MIL has a front loader and says because of the weather here, she has to be careful of mold around the front door, and it isn't even in the garage. :rolleyes:

Yep---mine's in the garage...and even with the A/C in there and our moderate temps, I still have to bleach it out and leave the door open every 2 weeks. Otherwise, our towels smell like a locker room. Plus, our bra hooks keep tearing the rubber seal ($100 each). I had a 20+ year old Hotpoint before this and it was still working when I got this one.

I'll do a review on this new one when I get it! It's just a GE top loader.....got $100 off of it cause it was a floor model with a few bumps on it but it's going in the garage anyway!

Hi, all!

I read all day yesterday, but don't think I ever posted. :hug:s all around.

Angela, I understand what you mean about almost wishing you didn't have to go through the leaving again. :hug: Oh, and we loved Sherlock Holmes. :)

Kristal, I'm sorry you had a bad end to the weekend.

Kat, hope the tax thing gets sorted. Sigh.

TE, sorry about the washer, but it sounds like you might have a better solution! About my Nan - shock or something shut down her bowels, so everything that they'd given her over 3 days was just sitting in her stomach, and she starting having vomiting and reflux issues. They attached a pump and sucked it all back out (nice, huh?) but yesterday the doctor thought he heard "rumblings" so they were going to try again with very small amounts of food through the tube. We'll see.

Jo, great cakes! :) Hope your golf goes well today. :goodvibes

Hi, V! I'm glad Leo had a great birthday! :thumbsup2

Hi, T - still running crazy, I see...

Hi, Z! We just watched the first IronMan on Saturday. We hardly ever actually go to the theatre, but we'll see about seeing IM2.

Rosie, hope you had a good night!

I'm sorry - I've slept since I read a lot of this. Um... Janet, glad that Jimmy enjoyed the zoo!

Hi, Taz and anyone I may have forgotten. :wave2:

*******************************************************
Yesterday turned out to be relatively calm. Deb's DH called D early in the morning and asked for help moving all Deb's mom's furniture out (the new buyer comes in at the end of the month.) They finally came around to our house with the new desk at around 2:30. They decided, too, to take our old one for their DD8's room, so that's good. It's gone from my house! :thumbsup2 ;)

Then, John came back to help D with some bathroom stuff, since D helped him all day. I took the boys to karate (they have a baseball game tonight) and then came home and threw together a taco dinner (sorry, T - ground beef was fast) and fed John, too.

D's decided he needs to go to the office today a little, but we spent an hour and a half messing with our iTunes sharing - we each have our own account and a library on our own laptops, but we are supposed to be able to share... Having a hard time getting D to get songs from me, though I can get his. :confused3

Anyway, he needs to go quickly because he needs to be back to take the boys to the game. I hadn't thought I'd ever miss a game for tennis, but the "better" team put me in the line-up tonight, and I'm scared that if I don't play, they won't ask me again. :rolleyes: Since D's here, it can work, so I decided to go play. He encouraged me, which was nice. I'm a little nervous, though - not only is it my first time playing "up" a level, we're playing outside on the clay courts. I am not used to them, and am traditionally worse on them. :scared:

Hopefully, the other team will feel the same way. :rotfl2:

And it's going to be chilly.

Oh, well.

So, I need to get up off my duff and do something. I got some of the office put back together, but not all of it. (It looks great - the desk, I mean.) I want to do my little workout plan, and I need to get cookies for the match and pick up some organizational stuff at Target, for the new desk. And it's 10:30, nearly. Sigh. Gotta move.

Hope you're all having a great Tuesday! :grouphug:

Morning all.
I have been reading and running the past couple of days so :hug: to those who need them. I'm fighting a cold so not feeling that great. I have T-ball, baseball, dance, watching the kids and my DIL is going to start college so that adds one more to the mix, and all the other running I do. I have been trying to organize my pics from my trip, all 2500 of them, and my computer froze while uploading yesterday so now I have to figure out what 100+ didn't make it.
I hope you all have a good day.

When you both have iTunes open, can you just play his songs or can you actually copy them to your music? I downloaded some new CD's on mine but not Mitch's, so I need to figure out the best way for him to get that music. It's mostly music he likes anyway. ;)

I’d like to see I2 but may not have the time.

I need to teach you all about torrents. Its how I get all my movies/tv and what not for free. We cancelled cable because its cheaper to download things. LOL.

yea the drama follows me, huh? I hope you are doing ok and that Doug didn't have a bad time while you were gone! Don't work too hard!

A friend and I were going shopping today, but yesterday she wasn't feeling well, so I don't know if we are or not. Which is fine because I don't really need anything. And that has stopped me when? :rolleyes1

Taxes are settled until we get the paperwork from the insurance company so its a small reprieve.

Do you have a network set up with all the computers on it? We have it set up that way and then we can both use whatever music. I am actually going to be combining all of our 2 musics together sometime soon, to one drive, so its easier to find. Its going to be a large project esp once I reopen the library in itunes but we need to do it.

Morning all.

Jeez thats a full day! feel better!

HI! To anyone else I misses.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So finally last night the crew leader from the census called. I have yet to call back because I decided today is a day for me. I will work my butt of starting tomorrow, I'm just tired and mellow today. I feel like I need to finish getting the house in order then I can get to working. Mostly i think aunt flo is coming and she makes me sluggish.
We went to the gym yesterday and got all our paperwork straightened out. We are planning on heading there tonight when KC gets off work to ride some bikes for a while. Its a really nice gym, very clean and every station has a tv.
OH! I updated mt almost dead TR!!!!
And thats about all I got for today. Have a good one!
Thanks for the info. Our ressie is for 9 people so I'm sure adding one more shouldn't be an issue, but who knows? T, I did read your TR, but obviously have forgotten! ;) This is terrible to say, but I wish he wasn't coming home. I know he needs a little break, but it was so bad when he left last time, I don't want to go through that again. And my family will be here when he leaves. :rolleyes:
:hug:
This morning I did water aerobics and actually enjoyed it. I hope that means I'll be motivated to go back. :thumbsup2
Cool!
Finally watched The Blind Side last night. Mitch will love it because of all the Ole Miss references. Especially Kathy Bates.
She was funny. I thought iwas good, but not as great as everyone seemed to think:confused:
OMG Janet, so what do the Moms that don't work do???? And your BBQ sounds fun :rotfl2:
Um, nothing....see below:headache:
Hope you're all having a great Tuesday! :grouphug:
You too and good luck tonight!
ISo finally last night the crew leader from the census called.
About time!
Hey all. Crazy busy here. Took Jimmy to before school care (he wanted to go even thought I told him I would take him:confused3) and then headed over to the school to drop off the cupcakes and get the last minute book fair stuff ready.
However, the girl who is the "chairperson" informed us via text that she would not be here ALL week.:eek::mad:. I'm sorry, but if you are going to take on the responsibility to need to make arrangements or step down. CE, I am now the chairperson for the next book fair:rolleyes:
We sold lots of books today and becasue it is the BOGO sale the kids were able to get lots of things for their money. Jimmy got 8 books for $38. Not bas considering a few a hardback, etc. He is now into the Diary of a Wimpy Kids books, so he got two of those:thumbsup2
Now we are home, homework is done and Jimmy is watching TV and chilling out. We are having leftovers for dinner, so we are just waiting for Jim to get home to have dinner.
Tomorrow I have to be in work at 8:00 for a training, whihc means I can leave at 4:00, which will be good because it is Family Night at the book fair and I have to go work that and I am taking another day off on Thursday so I can close the book fair and make sure the teachers get their allotments.
Will check back later all. Hope you all had a good day!:goodvibes:hug:
Yay at last!
That's ridiculous and I hope you have enough days off!
Today was bad and good. I put so much pressure on myself and didn't do well in the morning but in the afternoon I was partnered with another lady and we won :thumbsup2 Our prize was a nice Nike polo :thumbsup2 I then also won about $50 for prizes run through the winter, I went up to receive prizes more than anyone else :smooth: :rotfl2:
So, Z----what's the weather down there?? Will fly to FLL on Sat. It's freezing here---we have frost. Seriously.
It is HOT!!!!!! Lots of beach weather. You'll have fabulous weather. :thumbsup2
Janet/CE: Iron Man 2 may be a little loud for Jimmy, just in case. There's more fighting in it too and I think maybe 1 or 2 bad words...but still awesome.
I posted the other day, but I don't see my post :(
Anyway, just a quick check-in from me.
I've been playing PM tag with some lady to book a room and I've given her a "Yes, go ahead" and my information 3 different times and then she sends me a PM telling me that the resort didn't have anymore 2BR's....ugh. So I'm at my last resort request. If she doesn't book this 2BR I'm just gonna book the BC and call it a day because I am through with all this. :headache:
In other news I made some lovely scrapbook pages. :) I'm gonna see if I'm not too lazy to scan them to share. :goodvibes
TTFN!
Hope you feel better. You're busy as usual - good luck with the pictures.
Goodness. :hug: Hopefully it's figured out though.
Thanks, I guess things are looking up today. :thumbsup2
When you both have iTunes open, can you just play his songs or can you actually copy them to your music? I downloaded some new CD's on mine but not Mitch's, so I need to figure out the best way for him to get that music. It's mostly music he likes anyway. ;)
Well, this is the deal. For a long time, we've been able to "see" each other's libraries and play the songs. And, we're both "authorized" on the other's laptop. We used to get around the download issue by just sharing the library folder over our network and grabbing stuff through Windows sharing - but iTunes is supposed to be easier now to actually get the music by setting up "home sharing" under the "advanced" tab. Both computers are supposed to have to be signed in under the same user name THERE (not in the iTunes store area...)
If we're both signed in as either of us, I can grab his music and download songs into my laptop, so they'll be there even when his computer isn't, but he can't seem to get my library to do anything but play... I don't know why - we're both running the same iTunes and Windows. And, I'm having trouble doing it the old way by network sharing through Windows, for no apparent reason. :confused:
Oh, well.
Do you have a network set up with all the computers on it? We have it set up that way and then we can both use whatever music. I am actually going to be combining all of our 2 musics together sometime soon, to one drive, so its easier to find. Its going to be a large project esp once I reopen the library in itunes but we need to do it.
Yep, see above. The issue comes when I want music on my hard drive (or phone or whatever) that is on his, and he's in, oh, Turkey. ;)
And thats about all I got for today. Have a good one!
Glad you finally heard something - hope you had a great day!
She was funny. I thought iwas good, but not as great as everyone seemed to think:confused:
Somehow, this surprises me not at all. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
You too and good luck tonight!
Thanks! We lost, but it was fun and pretty close - and for me, "playing up" - well - I was really happy. :thumbsup2
However, the girl who is the "chairperson" informed us via text that she would not be here ALL week.:eek::mad:. I'm sorry, but if you are going to take on the responsibility to need to make arrangements or step down. CE, I am now the chairperson for the next book fair:rolleyes:
That does stink. I may be absent for the Nov. one if we get to take our anniversary trip - but I will make sure everything is set and we have coverage. Sigh.
Today was bad and good. I put so much pressure on myself and didn't do well in the morning but in the afternoon I was partnered with another lady and we won :thumbsup2 Our prize was a nice Nike polo :thumbsup2 I then also won about $50 for prizes run through the winter, I went up to receive prizes more than anyone else :smooth: :rotfl2:
Congratulations! Way to go, Jo!!! :cool1:
Janet/CE: Iron Man 2 may be a little loud for Jimmy, just in case. There's more fighting in it too and I think maybe 1 or 2 bad words...but still awesome.
We hadn't seen the first one before we watched it with the boys the other night. There were a few things that made me wince in it, but it's mostly OK. The womanizing aspect in the beginning, especially, was iffy for them, and there was language, but they know that they aren't to say those things... :confused3
I've been playing PM tag with some lady to book a room and I've given her a "Yes, go ahead" and my information 3 different times and then she sends me a PM telling me that the resort didn't have anymore 2BR's....ugh. So I'm at my last resort request. If she doesn't book this 2BR I'm just gonna book the BC and call it a day because I am through with all this. :headache:
I don't blame you - ugh. Good luck!
**************************************************
Well, as I said, we lost, but it was pretty close. Playing outside went better than I'd feared, and I wasn't cold, which was good. For my first foray into the better team, I'm not too disappointed, though I would have liked to have won. And, the captain was happy with my performance, so they may ask me again. ;)
I got to the boys' game in time to watch them putting equipment away :rolleyes: but that's OK. Got them to bed, made D & I a nice tofu stir fry, and am just vegging.
We were going to do laundry, since D's got to go tomorrow, but just as we were walking out the door to our various games, the septic tank alarm started going off. I called the service, and they reassured me that if we didn't seem to have sewage seeping up through the lawn or basement, that it's more of a "warning" than something dire, so they're coming out first thing in the morning rather than tonight. However, we don't want to push it too much and flood it with laundry and have a mess. Hopefully, it just needs a good sucking. :rotfl2:
D doesn't have to leave until 9:00 in the morning, so hopefully he will even be here when they get here and can hear what's happening.
And, lastly, my grandmother was nearly sent back to the nursing home today, but was having some blood seepage around the tube site, so they're just keeping her one more day. So, I guess that means they think she's tolerating the feedings, so that's good. :thumbsup2
Hope you all have a great night - what's left of it - and a happy morning, Jo! :goodvibes
I went up to receive prizes more than anyone else :smooth: :rotfl2:
Yay Jo! :yay:
It is HOT!!!!!!
That it is - summer has arrived! :beach:
I've been playing PM tag with some lady to book a room and I've given her a "Yes, go ahead" and my information 3 different times and then she sends me a PM telling me that the resort didn't have anymore 2BR's....ugh. So I'm at my last resort request. If she doesn't book this 2BR I'm just gonna book the BC and call it a day because I am through with all this. :headache:
UGH. what a PITA. :headache: Hope something comes through easily and economically for you Z! :wizard:
Well, as I said, we lost, but it was pretty close. Playing outside went better than I'd feared, and I wasn't cold, which was good. For my first foray into the better team, I'm not too disappointed, though I would have liked to have won. And, the captain was happy with my performance, so they may ask me again. ;)
Sounds great CE - win or lose! :thumbsup2
::yes:: We had an Employee Appreciation day last week and the activities, etc. didn't really matter - it was just nice to feel appreciated! :goodvibes
Hi, V! :wave2:
Ugh, frustrated. Still no sign of the septic people. I need to leave in about 2 hours to sub into a tennis class, so I need to call for an estimated time, I think. I still hope it's just a pump-out issue, which wouldn't take too long, but...
