Well will chat tomorrow

OOPs almost forgot Kat is the freezer fixed yet!!!!???

Well it's been a looooong day.

They came with a fridge at about 1130am. When the super walked in with this thing I nearly lost it. It was smaller than the last one and obviously OLDER and very used, complete with stickers all over it and it was DIRTY inside. The freezer door doesn't stay open by itself. I mean hello dorm fridge! Also it has a CONSTANT hum, meaning the compressor is broken and needs to stay on all the time to cool things. It's older than me.

We ran out and told him that this is not ok. He told us he doesn't have anything else. Sow e called the office again and now we are getting a new fridge but we are getting a rent increase of $18 a month because of it.

Mr. all talk about not paying an increase until repairs are done fizzled out.

Let's all giggle at the fridge they tried to pass of on us....

So we will hopefully be getting the new one by Friday, which ruins some plans for Friday if they end up coming late, but it'll be new and we can actually keep things cool so I'll get over it.

Then we took a much needed nap and then the laundry. Somewhere in there I made mushroom mashed potatoes and heated up leftover ribs.

Now I plan to take a shower, read a bit and SLEEP.

I have a load to do tomorrow too.

Have a great night everyone!

Am I first? :banana:

So, the stress of quitting and all that could only mean one thing, right? Add on a day to our trip! Like Mel said, now we have tea booked and the schedule is much more relaxed. :cloud9:

It felt so good to get up and do the things I needed to do for my family this morning instead of having to get my lesson plans together and pack my lunch. I have time to sit and chat with the kids and give extra hugs and listen to their stories. :lovestruc Nothing is worth missing all that. :cutie:

Be back later... Cause I can! :yay:

Yup. :thumbsup2

This is really strange for me. Dawn has turned into MEL for this trip. She's even posting on TFW first. Crazy! World spinning out of control! :rotfl2:

Just wanted to pass along that TE's busy working, but her ear surgery seems to be working! She's hearing well out of it, telling the kiddos to turn stuff down! I know she won't mind me passing that along, since she's a busy momma. :thumbsup2

Well, the morning started out as a real bummer but I'm over it. Gotta do some laundry and get the boys dressers organized. A trip to consignment is definitely on the agenda if it stops pouring outside. I am in the market for a new pair of running shoes. Anyone have any recommendations? I don't RUN, RUN (much like I don't hike, hike :lmao::lmao: ) I like something lightweight-ish and the mesh/light materials are ok. What should I look at? I have had a pair of Avia's for 8 years that I LOVE but they're so beat. Gotta get new ones.

Alrighty, gotta finish the coffee and start the day. No rest for the (sorta) wicked. LOL Have a GREAT day, Fockers!!!

B has new tennis shoes she loves that are meshy & super comfy. They're Adidas. I know we got them at Academy.

What is it with men?????
I still don't know, but raising a boy from birth has shown me this: it's biological and there's not a damn thing we can do about it, lol! :headache:

And why does the US have to be so far from the UK?
Right?! What we need is a TUNNEL! :rotfl:

Not much going on here, yesterday I played a golf comp and didn't play that great, can't win them all huh
Why not?! ;)
Today I've had Jess off ill, she feels faint and sick and slept for quite a bit. I can't believe that after only 1.5 weeks at school she is off already.
I sent him to school anyway, but Leo's not feeling so hot, either. I swear, each start of school brings a new bunch of germs in. Bleeeh!

Hi there girls!
Hi Jen! :wave:
She had done her research about all of her students and the first day of school there was someone in the class to start helping TInk with her fine motor skills and helping her catch up with Letter and number writing and identification. :thumbsup2 Tink attended 2.5 years of PreK, yet she still is struggling. :confused:
That's great that she gets some extra help! I understand - Leo doesn't qualify for anything, but he still struggles with things here and there. He was tying his shoelaces long before the other kids, but to this day can't ride a bike. He was multiplying numbers before he had a clue what multiplying was, but rounding to the nearest hundred is making us both crazazy! :confused3

Sending you good thoughts Rosie! :hug:

Are they freaking INSANE?!?! That sucker's from the Eisenhower administration! And I'm just betting... they get away with this crap because it's NYC, right? Ugh. :sad2:

So, the stress of quitting and all that could only mean one thing, right? Add on a day to our trip!
LOL, love it! :thumbsup2

Thanks Mel - what great news! :yay:
I am in the market for a new pair of running shoes. Anyone have any recommendations?
Me, I do! FYI, my definition of "run" is a lot like my definition of "hike." ;) I mostly walk at a brisk pace, and sprint for 30-45 second blasts. I was talked into Asics last time I bought, and they're the best I've ever had! I think mine are either Nimbus or Cumulus, but they're last year's model, so who knows what that is now. But they have a gazillion styles for a gazillion foot conditions, so you'd need to find your right one, anyway. I seldom follow the replace after 350-500 miles rule... and I need to start. The moment I switched to new skeaks, my knee and back pain went away. :thumbsup2

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning! Homework still sucketh, but I think we're getting somewhere. :thumbsup2 I found a nifty little website that had rounding exercises, sort of like speed drills. I had Leo do that for 5 minutes last night, and it helped a lot! The kid just needs repetition.
Which brings me to this - do your kids review homework the next day in class? They don't here. What good is homework, if you never go over the answers and how to get them?! I swear, for the amount of teaching I'm doing at home to make up for what Leo misses in school, I should just homeschool and be done with it.
Anyway, the ex continues to act like a butthead, but that's nothing new and I should just stop letting it bother me, right?!
My schooling is interesting... I'm taking a Reflective Learning class and our first assignment was to find our dominant intelligence, per the Multiple Intelligences theory. No surprises for me (does anyone doubt that I'm heavily weighted to verbal/linguistic and waaaay low on logical/mathematical?!) Here's the quiz and details if anyone's interested - it's interesting to do for kids, too! Leo, near as I can tell, comes out heavily Naturalistic and Spatial. Interesting. http://projects.coe.uga.edu/epltt/index.php?title=Multiple_Intelligences_and_Learning_Styles
Hi all! Hugs to all who who need them:hug:
Dawn -Glad you enjoyed your morning :goodvibes
Mel - I don't run:eek: But I wear Reeboks and love them
V - Can you give me the name of the website you found for Leo? Jim is always looking for new things for his kids (yes even at 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, they still need alot of the basics). Also, as I have offered to others Jim is always willing to help with Math if you run into a problem we can do it by phone, or if you have skype we can do that too:thumbsup2
++Also, I agree homework should be check and reviewed. This "new" stuff they put in for NCLB, however, does not allow for review. It frustrates Jim to no end, so I can just imagine how the kids feel. It is so scripted at this point the teacher guides basically say on Day 1 you will teach pages 1 -4; Day 2 pages - 5-8, etc...then after so many days/weeks they should be given a test/benchmark. So, if a kid is really sturggling the cirriculuum deson't allow for review:headache:
Rosie - Good luck today
Kat - Sorry, but :rotfl2: at the fridge. Hope it gets straightened out soon!
Morning all! Crayz morning at work. It's like feast or famine around here. Nothing much to do, or 1000 things all due at the same time:headache: Someday I would just like a happy medium.
I think I forgot to mention to you all, but I got a promotion:cool1: It's really just a title change from Probation Officer 4 to Probation Officer V...but it is more money:yay::yay::yay: Not a ton, but more is always good!
Not much else happeing. Today was another good start to the day for Jimmy so here is hoping that it is as good a day as it was yesterday.:thumbsup2
V - Can you give me the name of the website you found for Leo?
Absolutely! I found it by Googling, so maybe I can replicate it and find it here, instead of waiting till later...
GEEZ, has it been the week from hell for us Fockers, or what?! :grouphug: all around!
Seems like it has been.
*My aunt is in the hospital with a blood clot in her leg, infectious colitis, and pancreatitis. Good times for her.
Hope she is OK.
*I just balanced my checking account... Yes, Luckily I practice Fuzzy Banking
I practice fuzzier banking, I don't even try and balance the checkbook anymore. I just go online and see what is in there and yell at Jim for using the card without telling me. :lmao:
Yay, glad the kids are enjoying school and here the average class size is 30!!!!
When I was in schoole the average was about 35 per class. There was over 800 in my graduating class. :scared1:
I saw one of my other drs yesterday and evidently I have a significant tear in my knee. That has me just a little scared. I have to see the regular orthoped and see what he says. I am starting to dread the thought of surgery. :scared1:
Not much going on here. My kids are driving me crazy and the grandkids are getting into all kinds of mischief. It is going to be a long year. :rotfl2:
Have a good night all.
Morning all. We had a second day of getting our homework done with no tears:thumbsup2 I am hoping that this means that we are getting into the routine.
We have Cub Scouts tonight and then tomorrow is the Scout campout. The boys will be gone from about 5pm tomorrow until 10:00am Sunday, when we will meet at the soccer field. I think I am just going to rent a movie, get some chinese food and just veg:thumbsup2 ANy good recommendations for a movie to rent. I was just seeing commercials for Letters to Juliet. Anyone see that?
Hope everyone has a great Friday! BBL
Still under construction here !!! :scared1:Where to park is a nightmare !!:eek:Thank goodness I had moved my car as when I got back from dropping of the girls my driveway was blocked by 2 huge trucks !!! Not to much complaining though the road was in BAD need of resurfacing !!I've been here 30+ years and it has never been done !!!V will know what pothole city means !!!!:scared1:
Jo don;t count me out yet !! Phil 's family live in Long Island sooo there is a possibility I can hitch a ride with him !!Of course it would mean 8 hours of being picked on:lmao::lmao::lmao:
Yes ma'am, I sure do! Town of Tonawanda wasn't bad, but I lived in the city for a while, in Allentown. Potholes there could easily sink my Hyundai, lol!
T! I missed your quote, but WOOO HOOOTY on 5 weeks!!! :cool1:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Morning! We finally got some relief with homework last night! :faint: It took a few days, but Leo's finally got rounding down, and last night was making bad phrases into good sentences... it's somewhat alarming how quickly he understood that and got the answers. Looks like I might have a mini-me on my hands; poor kid. :rolleyes:

It just hit me that it's mid-September - cooler temps will be here soon! :woohoo: If, by "soon", I mean within 2 months. ;) But the end is in sight, at least.

I was looking at things to do besides looking at rocks on our SW vacay, and got sucked into horseback riding at Monument Valley and Bryce Canyon. I MISS riding! I'm thinking about doing some Fuzzy Math to find an extra $25 to get at least one lesson in a month as soon as temps drop some. I need my equine therapy! :cloud9:

Bah... What a week. :sad2:

We had a close family friend's aunt die this week. It's sad. I know she was old, but when I think about the holidays I think about Auntie puttering around my friend's house making cookies. :guilty:

Then Kirt's great aunt died last night. She had stage four cancer that they just discovered in the last month. It had gotten to her brain and she had a stroke at dinner, went to sleep at the hospital and never woke up. :guilty: She has an adult son with brain damage that now the family has to figure out who will care for him.

Anyway, I also hurt my back and got the tummy flu. Good times... :headache: :sad2:

Whatever... next week will be better and then the week after, we're in DISNEY!!! :woohoo:

Morning all. We had a second day of getting our homework done with no tears:thumbsup2 I am hoping that this means that we are getting into the routine.

I am beginning to think Crystal is the only one without homework. For the week she had to make a monster project and do 1 page in the math take home book. I am hoping after the open house next week the pace will pick up. I know she's in 1st grade but seriously this is preschool stuff. It should get more interesting later. She is being taught Italian. The only Italian I know is spaghetti, lasagna, pizza and veal parmigiana. I'm not going to be a lot of help. :lmao:
I think I am just going to rent a movie, get some chinese food and just veg:thumbsup2 ANy good recommendations for a movie to rent. I was just seeing commercials for Letters to Juliet. Anyone see that?
I saw that in the movies and absolutely loved it. I am actually thinking of getting it myself now that I have a DVD player.

Yes ma'am, I sure do! Town of Tonawanda wasn't bad, but I lived in the city for a while, in Allentown. Potholes there could easily sink my Hyundai, lol!

In PA? I agree we get some car eating potholes in this state. I gave up getting alignments because as soon as I left the shop I would need another one. :rotfl2:

Morning everyone>

I'm glad it's Friday. I have had drama with the kids all week and need a break. I am seriously thinking of day tripping down the shore tomorrow for the beach, just to sit and relax. I want to go to Cape May Lighthouse Park for the migratory birds and some pics. I may wait one more week though for a little more autumn foliage, and I want to get some pics at sunset beach. My project for the winter is to print some of my pics and hang them around the house.

I'm apple picking with my son on sunday and then we have Anthonys birthday party. I can't believe he'll be 3. His birth was a funny experience. My daughter came into my bedroom and told me her back was really hurting. 5 minutes later it was really hurting again. I looked at her like she was crazy and told her to call the dr because she was in labor. She didn't believe me and called a friend. Yeah mom's an idiot the friends know all. She called the dr who sent her to the hospital, she was already at 3cm. The next morning I went up to the hospital and figured I would go to the cafeteria and wait and study for my first exam. I stopped by my daughter's room to tell her I was there. The nurse/midwife said, "You're not going anywhere mom. Grab a leg, you're a stirrup." She did that with his mom also. I got to be there when Anthony was born and it was such great experience. He didn't breathe right away and I was able to keep her calm so I got to really participate.

Oh well I'm off to rent my ECV for my trip, call the dr to start setting up surgery and putting the deposit down on my next Disney trip. :yay:

Have a good day.
