Dinner at The Wave:

smoky tomato soup with mini grilled cheese- with a bigger sandwich, this could have been an entree by itself. :thumbsup2

Today's Sustainable Fish - with corn and edamame stew served with cilantro chutney

So much better than it sounds. The fish of the day was chard which I've had before but not lately. Very good and filling. And if there was cilantro chutney on it, I couldn't taste it. I love cilantro!

I love that places are doing dessert like this. I just need a touch of chocolate, or something, and this fit the bill. Jaime and I each got one and shared.

I had such a good time with Jo an Jen today! Jo really is excited but trying to control herself. Why silly? I'd be jumping up and down if I was picked so I'm living through her! She's got a full itinerary of amazing things planned so I hope she posts it all. Jen is cute and fun and you'd think we all had known each other forever. :goodvibes

Lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe. I had never been here but I love it. Maybe it's the atmosphere or the company or both, but I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for the Food porn and the update on Jo and Jen Angela. I did have to laugh at the 3 of you though. You in long sleeves and long pants and Jo and Jen in short sleeves, and Jo in shorts (I can't tell what kind of pants Jen was wearing!) :lmao:

Mmmm... I just had a nice long nap. :cloud9: It's so cold (to us) here, so it felt good to snuggle up in my bed. :lovestruc

Here's some hugs to everyone who needs them...
:hug: :hug: :hug: :grouphug:

Jodi- I can already see so much better! I told her that day that I couldn't see very well and she told me it takes time to get used to. :headache:

Angela- It sounds so fun! I wish I could meet some friends. :rolleyes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, mom's gone home and last night was really fun, but SO COLD! Not how cold I was in Florida, but not so fun. B dances again at Schlitterbahn's Christmas festival Sunday, so I'm hoping it's not as cold. I tried to get pics last night, but it was so dark, they didn't come out so well. :confused3 I'll post what I can soon.
I think our weekend will be filled with grocery shopping and cleaning. This week's been so busy, we're really behind. :scared:
What's everyone else got planned? popcorn::
Just a quick post to say hello and good afternoon and to send some hugs!
V. & Katt - I'm sorry to hear of your losses! :hug: :hug: :hug:
For those of you who are under the weather, I hope y'all feel better soon! :hug: :hug: :hug:
Angela - Thanks for the pics! I wish I were down there! June feels a long time away at the moment.
The overnight field trip for DD9 went great :thumbsup2 , but I'm still short of sleep. I distinctly remember at least 4 trains and at least 2 escorts to the rest rooms (a 15 yard walk outside :cold: ) between lights out and wake-up.
I'm the only one left in the office, so I'm shutting down and heading for home. :wave:
Hello Gals
"Chris" Showed up for his money... or actually for me to pay the bills..
He was .. just not himself. I guess he realized the "Fat Lady had sung". We went to the bank and he signed all my papers.. they are "Notarized"
As soon as he signed.. I handed him two checks 1 for each bill made out to them.
He had a two hour drive here to get this. I doubt I hear from him again for money. I BELIEVE THIS DID IT.
. I found out today I lost an Uncle. Mom's Brother died ON Mom's Birthday. Funeral is Sunday and Visitation is Saturday evening.
It's a 5 hour drive and I'll be making it alone. Sarabeth has a Party Saturday and Her Dance Debut Sunday Morning. I may drive back home Saturday Night. NOT Sure right now.
There is only one left now out of that family. 13 kids.. all are gone but the baby. I have not been "Home" Since I buried Terry Next to Mom 6 years ago last month. My Aunt Delorus Looks and Sounds like Mom. I am NOT going to hold up well.
Off to Pack. I'll check back in later.
:grouphug: :grouphug:
I'm so sorry Katt. :hug: It's not a good week I guess - my uncle passed away yesterday morning, too. :sad1:
:grouphug: :grouphug:
Oh Jo is there !! :banana: Loved the up to date pix !!:love: Of course Jo is in shorts in hot to her !! Did she give many details of her weeks plans ???popcorn::
Angela! Where's your cunning Focker skillz?! :eek:
Why didn't you grab her detailed schedule, scan it with your pocket scanner and post it for us to "ooh" and "aaah" over? ;) :goodvibes
Hiya, S'late! :)
Howdy!
Welcome Back Slate!:goodvibes
Hi there!
Hi everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone's heard from Jo yet?
As a matter of fact, NO! :mad: I told her to call when she arrived and if we were still in the world, I would come over to meet her. She is soooooo on Santa's naughty list. :laughing:
Welcome back, Slate! How was the World???
Thanks! The 1st week in Dec is definitely not a slow time.
I can't believe I missed Jo, Jen, and Angela at the GF by just 1 day. :sad1:
I did meet 2 DISers. One was wearing a Focker lanyard, but doesn't post here. :confused3
The other I saw her door at AKV, then met her in person at the bag check at Epcot. Her name is something like tinkerbell 766. She hangs on the creative boards.
Hi Ladies
Hi S'late... I see you made it back :wave:
I am packed up .. and we ran out and had supper at Applebees.
I feel Yucky... not sure if it is the anxiety of going back home or thinking of the drive.. or if I am actually getting sick.
Katt- :hug:
Mary- I forgot to say that I'm glad I'm not the only one who's husband gets goofy when in hospital situations. :sad2: :lmao:
Hey guys, it's cold outside!!!!!!
Katt - I really hope that your friends can get back up on their feet eventually. They had better appreciate how lucky they are to know you guys!
My condolences on your uncle. Please take care of yourself. You've been through a lot this week.
Rosie - How you feeling? Let us know how the investgation went.
Jodi - Sounds like you made out OK at the auction. Janet gave you some good advice. Get that nap tomorrow!
Angela - OH BOY! Now I'm hungry again. All that food looked wonderful!
Ed - Cool on the seats for one of my favorite Rednecks.
Mel - :hug: You can't be sick with NotBob coming home, dang it!!
MizDiz - Glad your hubby is on the mend!
Kat - I bet you are tickled about that hole being fixed finally! Great pictures of NYC. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!"
Slate - My DH loves the pretzel rods.:sad1:
Yep it didn't get much above 20 deg. today. It was beautiful though. We still have some of the white stuff around. I'm having trouble dodgeing the pot holes now. They haven't graded our gravel roads in a while. Ah country living!!!:sad2:
Doug is still struggling with a chest cold. He is off work this weekend. I don't expect much out of him though. I'm sure he'll just veg in the recliner for most of it.
I thought that I was getting the flu. I was very achy last night and this morning. I seem to be alright now. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I have to work tomorrow night also so no plans for me this weekend. I think my main goal will be to stay warm and sick free.
Have a good Saturday everybody!
The tracks are pretty close to the zoo. In fact, two rail lines cross not too far southwest of the zoo. You can see it on this Map to Zoo Atlanta (click here).
Mary- I'm glad to hear that Mr. Diz was able to stay in good spirits despite the surgery. I hope he has an easy and speedy recovery. :goodvibes
I'll try to pop in again in a bit. I need to check on the kids. The little one is in bed asleep :cloud9: , but the two older ones are still awake. :happytv: Mrs. T is out for :coffee: with a friend. 'Til then TTNF! :wave:
Hi everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone's heard from Jo yet? Isn't Angela supposed to have lunch with her today?
I'm so sorry Katt. :hug: It's not a good week I guess - my uncle passed away yesterday morning, too. :sad1:
Oh, V, hugs to you, too. I'm sorry. :hug:
I'm going scrapbooking tonight. I just hope I can stay awake long enough to get something done. Then, we've got the school's pancake breakfast and secret holiday shop tomorrow morning. Since I'm the PTO treasurer, I have to be there with cash boxes at 7:30am. I'm tired just thinking about it. :headache:
Sounds like some great deals, and you are just too busy, woman. ;) Take it easy if you need a break - headaches suck.
Awww... I'm glad you had a great time!
What's everyone else got planned? popcorn::
The boys have their first basketball practice, but it's not until late afternoon. I hope we can get them haircuts in the morning, because I need to get the photo for the Christmas cards this weekend. D & I have the parent playgroup dinner tomorrow night, too. :thumbsup2 Nothing on Sunday right now...
Just a quick post to say hello and good afternoon and to send some hugs!
Hi, Mr. T! Glad the trip went well!
Hope you both feel better and have a good day!
D's home, so...
See you all later!
Hey all. Back from Kohl's. Got a couple of things but nothing too exciting. I wanted to get Jimmy some thermal socks to wear tomorrow, but they didn't have any so I got him some spiderman slipper socks. We'll see if they fit into his sneakers. I also got him a turtle neck to wear under his sweatshirt. It is supposed to be cold tomorrow.
Picked up a pari of cuff links and a tie tack for the FIL and a sweat shirt for myself.
I also got Jimmy some new school pants (on sale for $9.00) becasue somebody decided to have a growth spurt and he looked like forrest gump going to school today:sad2:
We are going to Hershey Park tomorrow, but I will check in with you all in the am since we won't leave until about 10:30 or so. It opens at Noon and is open until 10pm, although I don't think we will stay that long.
Katt, if I don't see you before you leave have a safe trip:hug:
Have a good night everyone!:goodvibes
