First, Hi Sarabeth! :wave2:

Ok, my visit to the eye dr was cut WAY short! We all got in the car (Gus, me and Gma) and started out. It was snowing really hard but I was sure that by the time I hit the main roads about 4 miles down that they'd have plowed/salted SOMETHING....No. We got about 8 miles out from home and I said to my MIL as I slid up behind someone at a light, "THIS IS INSANE. Why I am doing this? We're going to get hit!"

Were you even CLOSE to the Dr's Office ??
I'm Soooo Sorry Mel. If I was closer... I would take you.
Snow... I can usually manipulate...it's that Blasted Ice that we get around here.. that makes it tough.
However.. in 1994 Preggers with Joshua.. I had JUST STARTED a new job in November... and we had an Ice storm Every week in January. I HAD to go into work.. But was scared if I had an accident.. that I would lose the baby... Still I made it. Not many cars on the road.. and those were driven by men. I even had a couple of guys staring at me at a stop light..Looking like "What's a Woman doing driving in this stuff"
Me and my little Plymouth Colt E Sedan... stick shift... 5 Speed.
LOVED that car :lovestruc

When Sara gets her school work finished.. I'll let her come back and say Hi ..... Unless she slips and does it... Hmmmm is her light on ???

Oh, dear. Can I tell you how hard it is to have our Wii in my closet and not get it out and use it? I could be playing tennis as I type! :lmao:
Same here with the Wii Fit especially as I could do with losing some weight for the cameras next week  :rotfl2:

Had another email from Bob. He's doing great.
I looked at his photos on FB but couldn't comment as he's not my friend but I loved what he said about the guy in the Mickey top :rotfl2:

Have you looked online?
I like to try them on first!

I sent this to Jim...he loved it!:goodvibes
It's so true though isn't it :rotfl2:

Jimmy took his science project in for the Science Fair today and he was so proud of himself.:goodvibes I took a picture of him with it, so I will post that tonight too.
Awwww it's lovely when they're proud :goodvibes

And everyone, except Jo would agree with you one this ::yes::
And????? :rotfl2:

I Like Snow :upsidedow
Me too :thumbsup2

Yes Sarabeth... You like snow.. to get out of School .
Katt I thought it was you logged in wrong again :rotfl2:

I know you love me loads :rotfl2:

Jo - I sent the link to my home email, will try to read it over the long weekend.
Thanks and Hiya :wave2:

Finally good new about Namath's ears, the left ear is healed !!!! and the right ear is now 90%, we don't have to go back until 12/11!
Fantastic :thumbsup2

 I just spent the whole morning building some huge lego car with (actually, for) A and when my friend came to get her daughter, he broke it into pieces. :headache: He was sad, but I give up. Dad can fix it when he gets home. :sad2:
Oh no

See... I put two quotes together....:goodvibes
Well done :thumbsup2

It took us almost an hour to go 8 miles down and 8 miles back! Crazy. I'm waiting to see what the roads look like in an hour so I can pick up SD at school. He can ride the bus if he needs to though....
Yikes, why haven't they cleared the roads?????

Jess had to have a shot today, it's to protect against Cervical Cancer and her year group are the first to be given it. Anway I definitely now know that she is my DD as when she was walking out of the nurses room she fainted on the floor :rotfl2: Bless her

Our friend has gone home and her sono showed the baby is perfectly healthy. :yay: She had a flag on her downs test, so they were doing a special scan to see if there were any markers, but the baby looks completely healthy. :cloud9:

:yay: :yay:

We're going to my brother and SIL's house on Thanksgiving. I'm going to walk in, eat, and leave as soon as possible. I'm not a fan. :rolleyes1 The kids are staying in Austin with my mom until Saturday morning. So, K and I get Friday alone. We'll probably do some shopping and Christmas decorations prep for when the kids get home Saturday. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: So you are going to Eat and run... I would probably do that If I was to have to visit my SIL and her Hubby.. I affectionatly call them "The Duke and Duchess of Alexandria.". and their daughter "The Princess of Alexandria."

YUP... LOADED... he owns the "Oldest House in Georgia" called the "Alexandria"
Been in the family since the Beginning of time I think.. Thomas Jefferson Slept there... Whoopty Doo

OOOHHH a night with no kids...
What's that Like... It's been 14 1/2 years since I experienced that... unless you count trips to the hospital for surgery...
Is sad when you start looking for SOMETHING they can cut on just to get "Time Off" :rotfl2:

OOOH I am so torn on THAT SHOT.
I protects against the Sexually Transmitted Cancers.
Sara is supposed to get that next year or she can not go to Middle School. It's Mandatory. THAT SHOT should not be MANDATORY.

On the one hand.... I HOPE She waits till she gets married
But can I count on the Guy waiting ?? or her?? :guilty:
I'm training her right.. but Sometimes emotions run high, and common sense goes right out the window.
I'm seriously thinking about fighting that shot.

Jess Fainted... was she that traumatized ??

It's mandatory???? That's ridiculous!!! I don't think of it like you said. Just because she has the jab doesn't mean she'll have unprotected sex, because really the last thing on her mind will be that she's protected against cervical cancer, it'll be more that she'll get pregnant or get an STD. But I suppose that that's up to us to instill in them that they need protection at all times, I hate that in only a few years she might be thinking of doing stuff with boys  but then I did :rotfl2: admittedly only with David :rotfl2:

Jess Fainted... was she that traumatized ??
Nope it's a family trait :rotfl2:

Is it a one time shot or will she need to be re-shot every X years?

I haven't put much thought into it yet, but if it's one shot, I would say go ahead.

S'Late Jess has to have 3 shots one today, one in January and one in March and that's it. The US may be different!

That doesn't sound too bad....and then she is protected for life?

It's a Series here... Not sure what the span is.. Kind of one of those things that I'll LOOK AT the weeks leading up to Vaccination day. She has a series of shots due... it's just THAT ONE.. that gripes me.

And since she has been posting here today.. I'll stop there. We have discussed the shot. And What is protects against.. right now she is :scared1:
But sadly I KNOW that will change. :sad1: If the world lasts that long.

Are you sure... I just went to the "Guardasil" site and that was listed as a POSSIBLE Side effect.

From Their Site:

What are the side effects of GARDASIL?
It's no surprise that you want to know more about the safety of GARDASIL before being vaccinated. The safety of a vaccine is an important part of its story.

As with all vaccines, there may be some side effects with GARDASIL. GARDASIL has been shown to be generally well tolerated in women and girls as young as 9 years of age. The most commonly reported side effects include:

Pain, swelling, itching, and redness at the injection site
Fever
Nausea
Dizziness
Vomiting
Fainting
Fainting can occur after vaccination, most commonly among adolescents and young adults. Although fainting episodes are uncommon, patients should be observed for 15 minutes after they receive HPV vaccine.

Allergic reactions that may include difficulty breathing, wheezing (bronchospasm), hives, and rash have been reported. Some of these reactions have been severe. Additional side effects reported include swollen glands (neck, armpit, or groin), Guillain-Barré syndrome, headache, joint pain, aching muscles, unusual tiredness or weakness, and generally feeling unwell.

If you or your child has any unusual or severe symptoms after receiving GARDASIL, contact your doctor or healthcare professional right away. For a more complete list of side effects, ask your doctor or healthcare professional.

The safety of the vaccine is something that is being followed on an ongoing basis.

For more information on GARDASIL, talk to your doctor or healthcare professional.

I'm not doing it. It only protects against a certain few strains and now some doctors are coming out against it.
I think it's another things that each family has to decide for themselves. But, I wanted to say we won't be getting it before I have to take Aiden to the dentist. :)

Luckily... since your girls are home schooled... they are not forced to do it.
I am wondering if I can cite religious reasons ??

I had some pain after my first series of those shots (I'm 24, was 23 when I got it). FWIW, getting the vaccine was not a decion I took lightly I weighed thr pros and cons for 7 months. I eventually decided that it made sense for ME to get it, but I agree it's a decision that each family makes for themselves. (Of course, I was different than a parent in that I have control over my choices in that department, not in a good way or bad way, but I know what I've been up to).

You had pre-marital sex?
Of course not :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

That doesn't sound too bad....and then she is protected for life?
As far as I know!

Are you sure... I just went to the "Guardasil" site and that was listed as a POSSIBLE Side effect.
They probably list those reactions to most vaccines, I'll keep an eye on her though :thumbsup2

I'm chatting loads with my Moms Panelists and they are just the nicest people, they're so funny too I can't wait to meet them :goodvibes
