Hi Girls! princess: And Guys!! :cool2: I have about 2 pages to catch up on..I skimmed a little...

Mo: Thats great news about Bonnie!!

Jo! You are going to have a great time!! Will you have time to ride Test Track? :lmao:

Mel! Good for you for being liquored up! :thumbsup2 You deserve it woman!!! :lmao:

Jen..:hug: for You and Jon...Wow! You`ve been through a lotta carp in the last week!! I hope he gets better soon!

Katt,,Did you ever make it to Wally World?

Jodi!!! Share the potato cassorole dish thingy you made for bible study!! does it involve cheese? :cloud9: I hope Meg feels better...:hug:

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will go back and catch up on more!

I got out of work early tonite because we closed at 9!! :banana: and it was time and a half for the holiday!! I`d like to say Disney money. but Steve is saying ABSOLUTLY NOT!! to the trip I have on hold for June. he does not want to go back to that "place" :sad2: Sams 16th Birthday falls during the trip also. and thought it would be a great thing to do for him.. I have until the 14th to book it. I might just put the 200 deposit down anyway..:rolleyes1 hes the type that will whine and complain about the trip..then he picks the resturants he wants to try the week before we leave!!! :headache: after all the ADRs are made! :sad2: I`m hoping Sea World will help. can we do that in a day? :confused3

Katt. what happens when you use the GAC card? We`ve never used it for Sam before. But I`m thinking of getting it in June. since it will be our first trip when school is out of session..I`m a little worried about the crowd level...

:rotfl2: In golf you can play a stableford competition where you earn points on each hole, for a net par you get 2 points, bogie 1 point, birdie 3 points. So if you play to your handicap you would score 36 points for 18 holes. Make sense? :rotfl2:

Actually, yes. But then, I've played a lot of golf in my day. I have no hopes for those who haven't. ;)

:idea: I may order pizza tonight to celebrate Veteran's Day as I am a Navy vet popcorn:: It will be better than the frozen entree I was going to fix because my DW is visiting her Mom in NC. :rolleyes1

Thanks so much. You should definitely have treated yourself.

No one took pictures at Mitch's program. :headache: I knew I should have gone but just watching the celebrations on the news makes me teary.;) I can't remember if I mentioned that he's supposed to go to Afghanistan for 18 months in March 2010. :scared: Of course a lot can happen before then but it's still an unpleasant thought. Although I knew he was in the military from the beginning, so there's nothing I can say. Not that I would anyway. :)

Oh, Angela. My BFF, Dr. Belle, you know? Her brother has been back and forth from Afghanistan and Iraq tons. He's a fairly high ranking officer, and in the "secret" bits, so he's usually not in much danger, but I hate it for them all. He's the closest I had to a brother growing up. Many hugs to Mitch for his service and you for being the spouse. :hug:

We made it through the appointment. The dentist pulled me aside before to talk to me. I felt like I was in trouble. :guilty: They only did one tooth of the two, because he was getting antsy. But he did a good job and didn't need the shot. I was proud. Now we go back in two weels and I know he can do it

I'm so glad it went well.

I went inside after about 2 hours of that and there was a tear (liquid not rip) at the outer corner of my bad eye and it was RED. :eek: :eek: :eek:
I immediately called Dr. Seigle and he said not to worry! He said that's normal, the stitches were probably irritated. As long as it's not continuing (it's not) and there's no change in vision. Everything seems ok....

Unfortunately, now all night I will be PARANOID that I hurt myself! :confused:

Ack! Take care of yourself!

i was supposed to go to cpr class today, but woke up this am nauseated, then started vomiting right before i took the kids to the bus stop!! :scared:

Feel better. :hug:

I couldn't even go shopping because when I checked my bank account I saw that I had $50 less than what I was supposed to have.

Oh, how annoying. I hope it works out.

No school for at least another day or two.

:faint: Tired!!!!

:hug:

I'm here but I'm sort of liquored up!

Woohoo!

So, who has the link for the FF picture site? I lost it....

I'll send it.

Missed Supper.. nearly no breakfast.. and a bowl of soup and a Yogurt to eat. And I think I forgot to drink much of anything today.. My mouth feels like it has cotton in it. I may have only drank a quart of liquid.. just forgot about it till now.

Katt, please take care of yourself. Please? :hug:

Hello everyone! Just popping in to say HI!!! I am really trying to pop in, I have a super hard time keeping up with the thread. To be honest, I can barely keep up with my own life. I am a lost cause lately.

I know the feeling.

****************
I need a separate post.

hi jen. yeah, i always worry about packing. but, we don't really plan our trips. we tried it before and it didn't work well with the kids. they do better if the plans are very loose!

I'm starting to strongly detest the planning process. We were gonna get the DxDP for 2 nights and DDP for 2, but I can't find enough TS places to use up the credits. I know, I should have booked earlier, but 1. we didn't know how many were going and 2. I'm just tired of planning it all out. :crazy:

OK, nearly everyone is gone, but I need to share this with my peeps.

We got a call from D's mom tonight, and it was just before we were trying to get the boys in bed, so we both kind of groaned, but I said, "Oh, she's probably calling to say 'Happy Anniversary'" and D agreed, so he answered.

It couldn't have been further away.

D's cousin - our age, 36 - has been killed in northern CA. He may have just been murdered, or part of a murder-suicide - and sadly right now we don't know if he would be the murderer or the victim.

It is SO unbelievable. He is not violent, a super lefty liberal, so the gun thing is bizarre, if it was him. Happy, still getting new friends on Facebook (to the point where he has two new friends as of about 2 hours ago, which is just creepy, though I'm sure they don't know), just made a lot of money on Apple stock... The only info we have right now is coming off a newspaper, which basically is saying the police think it was him, but they are "waiting on gunshot residue" to be sure. The neighbors and even the girl's (other victim's) sister say that they had not an ounce of scary relationship issues, no one can believe it, so we're trying hard not to, you know?

I don't even know where to go with this.

We weren't super close to him, at all, but we were oddly just discussing him last night, as he had a lot of fun at our wedding. This happened either sometime over the weekend or yesterday, but they just released the ID's today to the media, and we just found out, obviously.

D is hurting. He doesn't know what to believe and then he's still sad, no matter what.

Everyone send the good thoughts, OK? Even if the cousin is the bad guy? Thanks.

CE...I"m so sorry honey. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time.

CE- I am sooo sorry! OM Goodness. This is such a tragedy for your family. Wow. Please keep us posted. I am sure they will figure out better what on earth happened. Did he have a family?

Wonder if T has heard about it on the news.

:crazy:
How on earth does one do this? I too think I'd be tired of planning.

CE- I am sooo sorry! OM Goodness. This is such a tragedy for your family. Wow. Please keep us posted. I am sure they will figure out better what on earth happened. Did he have a family?

Well, and this is how "well" we knew him - apparently there's a small daughter that we weren't aware of until today. Not with the other victim.

His dad was D's mom's brother, and he (D's uncle) died really horribly young about 4 years ago of a totally random liver disease (not alcohol related...) We saw the cousin at our wedding and then again at his sister's wedding a couple of years ago, but that was about it. But this doesn't sound at all like the guy we thought we knew, especially as D did feel closer to him as a kid. And we really like his sister, whom we know a bit better. Between her dad and this, I am really worried for her, too.

Apparently this other victim was his on again, off again girlfriend, but again, in the article we have, her sister - unlike most of these situations - says that they were not fighting or in a scary relationship, no idea this could happen, unbelievable, etc. It wasn't one where the girl's family says, "Oh, we knew he was trouble, tried to get her to leave," etc. (Which is totally valid in situations of that type. I know I'm hoping against hope, here, that since they didn't think it, it didn't really happen that way.)

Wonder if T has heard about it on the news.

Should be the wrong part of the state. Plus, I've been doing some looking, and can't find it on anything but this one newspaper article. No TV stations, etc...

I really got behind here, didn't I?

Mel - Any update on the adults only trip? Glad to hear your eye is mending well. :thumbsup2 to SD for choosing a drug-free life.

Dawn - Feelin' any better yet? Never feel guilty for living your life the way you want. We all work hard. If you want to go to WDW for your fun time, you do it! April/May will be beautiful too!

Angela - Good shot of you and Kat. Night Ranger sure brings back a lot of memories.

JV - Feet and ankles still OK? Don't feel bad about keeping up - I can't either.

G-Luv - Poor Jon! I hope he gets better soon. Any news on the bully front?

Mo - Prayers to you and your second mom, Bonnie. Sounds like she is bouncing back. How's Murph?

Jo - How could anyone not like a golfin' momma Focker with a British accent?
And congrats on your cup and gifts!

Kat - Glad you're back! Sounds like you had a great time at F&W. Sorry you are still not feelin' good.

T - OMG! I could never get ahold of BFF, Rockie, when she was a troop leader. I even helped her with one of her meetings when I visited her. Nuts!

TE - I would like you to know I got 55% on your quiz. I did not cheat. I am 'barely in Dixie'. Ya know'd it ain't in how ya' talk though. It's what's in that there heart o' yurs!

Z - Good catch on the $50 charge.

Slate - :hug:

CE - Happy Anniversary and sorry about D's cousin.

Janet - Are you going to show us pics of the new funiture and paint job?

Rosie - Prayers to the family of your consumer.

Jodi - I'm further north than you too. (See TE above.) Can I come to California with you?

Rachel - Get well soon!

Howdy-do to the Tiggers and Brack!!

00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

It's been cold and rainy here in central dullsville. I was able to get my home cleaned this past Sat. It was raining and Doug was at work. We had a B-day party on Sunday for one of his great nieces.

I'm still waiting on a contract through my e-mail from the owner of the cabin we're renting at Christmas. I'm trying to decide if the Biltmore mansion is worth the price tag of $68/person. We will be 2 hrs away from it also. Anyone been there?

I'll try to do a better job of keeping up.
Have a good day all!!!!

Biltmore is absolutely beautiful! I visited it in the spring though when all the flowers were in bloom. The house is to die for though. :lovestruc

My Bible study group is having a pitch-in brunch and I've already made my hash brown casserole.

I love hash brown casserole. :thumbsup2 Hope DD is better.

Popping in! Jon's still lousy...but no vomiting in a few hours.

I hope he's on the mend. :)

I'm here but I'm sort of liquored up! LOL. Bob decided that he was traumatized by my attempted EYE damage and that I needed to sit on the couch with a "blankie" and wine and NOT MOVE. Or Else.

Not a bad way to spend the evening. :goodvibes

However, I do like the idea of raising your kids to treat others kindly and that you should measure your life's success by your happiness. More people should do that!
exactly! :thumbsup2

Been a VERY LONG DAY... I woke up at 2:30 am.. fell back to sleep at 5:00 only to have to get up at 6:00:sad1:

I hate when I do that! :headache: I have finally resorted to Tylenol PM. :thumbsup2

Angela- Looks like we get to have a mini meet with JO!!!:banana:

I can't wait! :cool1:

Oh, Angela. :hug:

Mitch is in a pharmacy unit so he should be fairly safe, but of course, who knows. Yesterday all the ladies at work were going gaga over him in his uniform. :rotfl2:He's like, whatever. But they wanted him to put his beret on so they could take pictures. And he wasn't even wearing his good uniform just his ACU's. Thanks to Dr. Belle's brother too! It's scary no matter where they are over there.

D's cousin - our age, 36 - has been killed in northern CA. He may have just been murdered, or part of a murder-suicide - and sadly right now we don't know if he would be the murderer or the victim.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin, CE. :hug: I hope the police find out what happens to ease all of you. If he did it, your cousin isn't a bad guy, something happened to cause him to do a bad thing.

I'm trying to decide if the Biltmore mansion is worth the price tag of $68/person. We will be 2 hrs away from it also. Anyone been there?

I've never been but I so want to! My sister went however, and really enjoyed it. Can you get any discounts through AAA or The Entertainment Book maybe?

Katt,,Did you ever make it to Wally World?

THAT WOULD BE NO.. and can't today either... except to gram some milk and maybe icecream.

I`d like to say Disney money. but Steve is saying ABSOLUTLY NOT!! to the trip I have on hold for June. he does not want to go back to that "place" :sad2:

:scared1: THAT PLACE... On no he didn't !! Somehow .. "Paying hommage to the Rat sound like a good thing :sad2:

Sams 16th Birthday falls during the trip also. and thought it would be a great thing to do for him.. :confused3
I'm hoping for that Sea World in a day too. You asked that a few days ago... Guess us Fockers are Fickle...nothing but Disney:laughing: We are planning for Tampa Busch Gardens , Sea World and Aquatica The week of April 12

Katt. what happens when you use the GAC card? We`ve never used it for Sam before. But I`m thinking of getting it in June. since it will be our first trip when school is out of session..I`m a little worried about the crowd level...

Nothing HAPPENS... You go to City Hall in MK( or any of the Park Cust. Serv. Windows) Tell them you need one , and why... and my experience is they just hand it over.. We use the FP's and the GAC interchangably. Trying Not to abuse it.
Show it to a CM either at the entrance to the ride or at a Handicapped accessable ramp sign. The CM's have always been accomodating, and we are ALWAYS there at Peak seasons:scared: . It allows Joshua to not just be a Normal Kid.. but be a Preferred Kid.. for 1 week out of the year... and sometimes 2:rolleyes1 :yay: .

Katt, please take care of yourself. Please? :hug:

I'll put that on my list... Lets see if I get to that entry. :sad2: I am the worst for putting things off. And the whole water drinking thing( or any liquid drinking thing) I just forget. Unless I am eating I am not USUALLY Drinking. Now that would go out the window with "Sweet Tea" THE ONLY WAY to PROPERLY drink Iced Tea:snooty: ("Especially for us 100% Southern:rolleyes1 " ) However.. I drink it unsweet most of the time now.. using my "Equally-Sweet" Concoction. I could drink a Gallon of THAT A DAY.

:crazy:

I am with you... Infact I do not "PLAN" my trips..:rolleyes1 (other than when we are going ) Unless there is an ADR involved.. then I only plan the Meal.
and sometimes that is a :faint:

D's cousin - our age, 36 - has been killed in northern CA. He may have just been murdered, or part of a murder-suicide - and sadly right now we don't know if he would be the murderer or the victim.

D is hurting. He doesn't know what to believe and then he's still sad, no matter what.

I can not make my mind understand how anybody can get so angry as to kill someone... unless my life of the life of my kids is threatened.. then YES MA'AM.. I WILL SHOOT.

I also will NEVER understand HOW a person loses all hope and commit suicide. Is it ever really THAT BAD ?? I know you do not know all the details... at this point it does not matter which way he died.. it was a rough ending.
I am soooo Sorry Guys...

CE - Happy Anniversary and sorry about D's cousin.

Thanks on both counts. :goodvibes

I'm trying to decide if the Biltmore mansion is worth the price tag of $68/person. We will be 2 hrs away from it also. Anyone been there?

Biltmore is absolutely beautiful! I visited it in the spring though when all the flowers were in bloom. The house is to die for though. :lovestruc

I've never been, but I've seen their Christmas decoration show on either HGTV or The Travel Channel - and it looks absolutely heavenly at that time, from what I can tell. It's pretty pricey, though.

I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin, CE. :hug: I hope the police find out what happens to ease all of you. If he did it, your cousin isn't a bad guy, something happened to cause him to do a bad thing.

Thanks. :hug:

I am soooo Sorry Guys...

Thank you.

********************************************
Well, we were up pretty late - all this kind of put a damper on any anniversary, um, celebrations. ;)

D fell asleep on the couch, which was probably a good thing. I don't know if he slept much once he went up to bed.

He was trying to figure out getting out to CA, maybe tomorrow through Sunday. He's supposed to fly to Europe on Monday, and he doesn't seem to be wanting to ask someone else to go.

And of course there are no arrangments - from all my CSI type show watching, I'm fairly sure that the family won't have the body for a while. :guilty:

And, it's somewhat awkward. The cousin's mom & dad had been divorced forever, and the kids lived with the dad, who was D's actual blood relative, if you follow. So for a long time, they were indeed very connected to the rest of D's family - it wasn't like they lived with the ex-wife and never saw their dad's family. (There were 5 siblings in D's mom's family, and they all live in CA except D's mom...)

But when D's uncle died about 4 years ago, with things like the sister's wedding and stuff, D's "side" of the family has been a little left out because the uncle isn't with us, if you KWIM. Just in that the arrangements were of course made in a large part by the mom, who was an ex-in-law.

So even if D does go to CA, the arrangements would all be made by the "ex-aunt" whom he's seen once in 25 years or so. The other blood-related aunts who live out there will be around, of course, but they won't be in charge.

It's all just a mess. I'm sorry I'm rambling. :grouphug:

At any rate, I was looking forward to a quiet day, but if D is bustling around trying to figure out if and how he would go out, I don't know what the day will turn out to be like.

Thanks for letting me get that all out. :grouphug:

It was a good night!

YES! I would like the recipe for the hasbrown thingy too!

If Stebe doesn't want to go, go without Stebe.....:rotfl: I know, I know. I'm evil.

We were there in June last year and except for our experience at DHS for late EMH that one night, it was fine!

Everyone send the good thoughts, OK? Even if the cousin is the bad guy? Thanks.

Oh, CE! That is so hard. :hug: I hope things clear up and you can get some answers...

Mel - Any update on the adults only trip? Glad to hear your eye is mending well. :thumbsup2 to SD for choosing a drug-free life.

No. I'm on hold for now. I REALLY can't decide whether to go to WDW or Vegas for our alone trip. That's bad....right!?

SD is doing great and he is making plans with a friend for the weekend. Apparently, there was some issue with drinking at this friend's house a couple of months ago. SD wasn't involved and he let his friend know that he was Pissed!!! He said, "Mom, I don't want him to do that stuff when I'm there!"
The kid in question has the WORST parents. From outside I'm sure everyone thinks they're GREAT parents! Unfortunately, we know the ugly truth. That huge house and new cars etc. are masking completely checked-out parenting! They tell their kids on Friday, "We aren't going to be around this weekend. Find somewhere to GO." I wish I were lying. So sad. :sad2:
The only reason I haven't shut this down completely is that he's SD's BEST friend and he thinks that it's better for his friend to have a good influence. MY son, always worrying about how other people feel!!!

So, you may ask yourself, why am I letting this continue? Well, probably because I really worry about what kind of kid he'd be if SD WASNT his best friend. He'd have nothing!

*******************
Getting Gus off to school. He has Future Problem Solvers today. That's a group of talented/gifted 5th grade kids that they hand-pick from around the district to work on a "Future Problem". They are working on the 2040 Olympics and the fact that they are allowing "Modified Athletes" to compete. These athletes compete against other modified athletes and are allowed to use performance enhancements, surgerys etc. to make themselves faster or better. They also have the "regular athletes" still in their own category. The kids have to work out what type of issues would arise from this scenario. And brainstorm solutions! It's pretty cool!

Bob is working from home! I plan on laying on the couch all day!

Hope you guys are doing great!

Has anyone seen Janet!? Where is she!?

MEL:banana:

Oh, CE! That is so hard. :hug: I hope things clear up and you can get some answers...

You've got a good one there, Mel. :goodvibes

The kids have to work out what type of issues would arise from this scenario. And brainstorm solutions! It's pretty cool!

That does sound cool!

Thanks for sharing. Be assured of not only our thoughts but our prayers as well.

Thank you very much.

Kristel- Thanks. I needed to hear that. :goodvibes

CE- I am so sorry for what you and D are going through right now. No matter if he was responsible or not, it's still a loss for your family. :hug: I hope you can get some answers soon. :hug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for me, I'm slowly improving each day. We'll see how today goes. I have an appointment at 2 today for a new GYN who specializes in hormone replacement and balancing them. So, I'm excited. I've heard really good things about her. :yay:
C's in my bed watching t.v. with a tummy ache. I hope it's nothing. :sad2:
I can't remember if I mentioned that he's supposed to go to Afghanistan for 18 months in March 2010.
Oh Angela hopefully the conflict will be over by then. If he's away for such a long time does he get to come back for visits?
You don'tthink Sneezing, trampolining and muddy walks are interesting????:lmao:
I don't think that's very "Disney" :rotfl2:
Write that you're friends with us! That'll be impressive.
True :rotfl2: and I'm glad the dentist went OK!
:rotfl2: and add Hoovering and stableford competition golf. ;)
:rotfl2:
I went inside after about 2 hours of that and there was a tear (liquid not rip) at the outer corner of my bad eye and it was RED.
How's your eye this morning?
glad you get to golf today. what do you do in the winter?? do you get golf withdraw?
We play all year, except maybe a couple of days when it's too wet or very occasionally snow!
i was supposed to go to cpr class today, but woke up this am nauseated, then started vomiting right before i took the kids to the bus stop!!
Oh Rachel, hope you're better today :hug:
And don't forget that it was you that placed the call to Disney Dining to set it all up even though it wasn't considered a grand gathering. ;)
They told me to phone GG :snooty: :rotfl2:
My total with tip came out to $10, but when I see my bank account today I see they charged me $50!!!
OMG hope they sort it for you!
Popping in! Jon's still lousy...but no vomiting in a few hours.
Yeah, hope he gets fully better quickly :hug:
And I think I forgot to drink much of anything today.. My mouth feels like it has cotton in it. I may have only drank a quart of liquid.. just forgot about it till now.
You sound worse than me, fill up a big bottle with water/juice/whatever and make sure it's drunk by the end of the day!
Angela- Looks like we get to have a mini meet with JO!!!:banana:
Wooohooooo!
I am Worried that I will forget things and not remember where to go and what to do in WDW. Anyone else get these fears before a trip?
Don't worry Jen the most important thing is you have fun :goodvibes
Jo! You are going to have a great time!! Will you have time to ride Test Track? :lmao:
I'd better :rotfl2: The photo shoot this year is at Epcot, should I suggest they do mine whilst riding TT? :rotfl2:
D's cousin - our age, 36 - has been killed in northern CA. He may have just been murdered, or part of a murder-suicide - and sadly right now we don't know if he would be the murderer or the victim.
OH CE how terrible and even worse that you don't really know what's happened, I hope you find out soon :hug:
Angela- Looks like we get to have a mini meet with JO!!!:banana:
I am Worried that I will forget things and not remember where to go and what to do in WDW. Anyone else get these fears before a trip?
Just mucked up Kristels post, hit paste instead of copy and it disappeared, anyway the cabin sounds lovely!
I can't wait! :cool1:
Me too :goodvibes
Well, we were up pretty late - all this kind of put a damper on any anniversary, um, celebrations. ;)
I'm sorry CE because it's horrid what's happening but that sentance did make me laugh :rotfl2:
So, you may ask yourself, why am I letting this continue? Well, probably because I really worry about what kind of kid he'd be if SD WASNT his best friend. He'd have nothing!
SD sounds as though he's got a good head on his shoulders but kids will change friends as they get older!
Has anyone seen Janet!? Where is she!?
Not for a day or two :confused: Janet where are you??????????
I went shopping today and bought a pair of jeans and a white T-Shirt, yep that's all :rotfl2: I so need some capris but could I find any? Nope, I'll need to look online I think :sad2:
