I'm the same way - thankfully we don't exchange gifts with the adults on my side of the family, but I do buy for Andy's side. It's only his sister, her husband and his nephew, but I'm always stuck when it comes to BIL. His sister is easy, she's a Tink lover, so I usually get her something Tinker.

Jodi! I did not realize your girls are the same age as Maddie & Evan! Are they coming with you in January?

We don't exchange with any adults other than my brother and SIL. And our parents of course. Otherwise, it's just buy for the kids. Unfortunately, my brother isn't too much into Disney. I'll have to beg my SIL for ideas.

My girls aren't coming with in January. We're actually going to my DH's company year end party in San Diego. Last year we went to San Juan, Puerto Rico. It's an adults-only company-paid weekend! We just decided to add on a day and drive up to DLR!

Will Evan be in kindergarten next year then? My DD4 thinks she should be there now! Maddie is in first grade, right? My DD7 is one of the youngest in her second grade class. We thought about holding her back, but she was reading chapter books before kindergarten, so we thought that was a bad idea!

I'll buy some cookies off of you T. I love the Tagalongs, soooo good. When is cookie season anyways?

So, DH texted me at about 3:00pm to tell me that a guy he used to work with died this weekend and the funeral was tonight at 6pm. I never met the guy but he was only 36 years old. I guess he found some kind of growth or tumor on his neck and had surgery to remove it. Then, a few days later, he died. Very strange. But, DH ended up going to the funeral directly from work. He's on his way home now. I don't know if he had a wife or kids or anything, but it really makes you think, doesn't it?

We're back and now I'm sick! I was kinda sick down there but since there is no sick in disney I pretended everything was fine until I got home!

We had a GREAT time, did TONS of stuff...I'll obviously get to it all eventually....one TR at a time I guess.

Well just wanted to pop in and say HI, I'm off to the couch again w/ my DVR.

That is why I am Planning 2 trips to Disney... and another Family Get-away in April.

That is a really interesting article. Thanks for sharing it. I am a huge POP fan. I prefer to stay at POP or a deluxe. Big difference, I know... But I really haven't thought the mods were value added for me.

How is everyone today. I just spoke to Bonnie and she really does sound good. Hopefully going home in a few days.

So, there is this guy at work and everyday he eats Lean Cuisine Mac N Cheese. EVERYDAY. UGH, that smell really is getting to me. I even joke with my VP that lunch time is now called Mac N Cheese time.

Glad Bonnie is feeling good!

Ewwww. Cheese Time....blech! Maybe you could buy a NEW kind of L.C. and gift it to him!

Oh no! Poor thing! The spacers were the most painful thing EVER! I wanted to get a hammer and knock my teeth out! Give her a tylenol BEFORE you go to the Ortho - it won't be as bad. I go back on the 20th for tightening.

Poor SD hated those rubber thingys! He's so glad that part is over!

Thanks eveyone for the hugs. I tried to post about this last Wed. but couldn't see through the tears. Our pediatrician has been calling us everyday to check on us and took it upon himself to find a psych that accepts our ins. I'm waiting for several to return from lunch so I can make an appt. If we can't get one within a week, he will call for us to see if can cash in a favor.

That's good news, Slate. I hope that you get in soon. Since SD started meds he's been a new kid. I have been VERY worried about depression as that is a MAJOR concern with teenagers and anti-depressants. Our experiences have been really great though. Fingers crossed for you!!!

I know those tears well my friend Keep us updated . Jimmy has his psych appointment tomorrow. The meds really seem to be working for him so I am grateful. We have not had one issue, other than he is a communist and was refusing to stand and say the pledge of allegience, since we have gotten the emeds regulated and moved him to public school!

Had a good day. I baked a banana bread, went to the pharmacy and grocery store, returned a video and picked up salads for lunch. Then tonight I made homemade chicken noodle soup and cornbread. ( I ain't southern, but I can make me some cornbread )

Now I am watching ICarly goes to Japan with Gus. He has a little cough, which I really hope is not turning into anything else! It snowed here all day (Sorry CE!!!) It was only 39 degrees too. BRRRRRR. I hate winter. It's way too early....

Here's exactly what I'm doing... nada. The "deal" is no good for me - I already have an AP, so no way am I buying a package with tickets included.

That's how I feel, but I read on the thread for the deal the same thing MizDiz said. You can buy a 1 day ticket and use it for when you renew the APs. I'm seriously considering upgrading my tix from Fockerfest to Seasonal APs.

Bob is working from home today. I helped him plan out his business trip to Japan a bit. I got maps for the Narita airport, helped him find a hotel, got tourist info on the area of Tokyo he'll be in, etc. OH, and Tokyo Disney is only 45 mins away from his hotel! He said, "You want me to go to DISNEY the only day I'm in Japan with nothing to do!?" YES!!!!! OMG!!!!! How can he even ASK!?

Ohhh how fabulous! Mel you should try to fanangle your way into that trip.

But, tomorrow is our 8th anniversary, so we are going out tonight. The boys had school today, but don't tomorrow, so the sitter is also free.

I just got a terrible phone call. Bonnie, the woman that walks the pugs at lunch time, has had a stroke. It happened Friday night. SHe called herself and says she feels fine and expects to be released this week. Both legs are ok and her left arm is too. Her right arm is what is giving her trouble. She is my second mother. She teases me all the time and refers to herself as my Jewish mother. Whenever I am sick she takes care of me as well as the pugs. She said that this is my Irish mother's fault since she was in the hospital a couple months ago, she wanted equal attention. At least she has a sense of humor.

One good thing, she has given up smoking, she said she hasn't missed it since being in the hospital and promises not to go back.

If you have a moment please send Bonnie some prayers and good thoughts.

Well, I just booked us for 3/21-3/28 at POP!

Jon was looking at pics of POP with me on All Ears.

I wanted CBR in a pirate room...but he looked at POP and begged. Fine...I'll save myself $400 and we'll go to POP. We've never stayed at POP.

I booked preferred room...but I need advice on where to stay/which building to request.

It would be helpful for Jon if we were on 1st floor and close to the main building.

Opinions please???

Now...I have to look at dining. And I need to do it fast.

I know we HAVE to do CP, as that is Jon's fav. I want to try Ohana's...but I can't decide if we should do the luau instead. I want to try Sci Fi at MGM. And T-rex cafe. Can you make ressies for T-rex??? Of course we must do RFC at AK...as that is a fav. And Boma...as that is our fav. sit-down meal.

Dang...I have some planning to do.

Okay...so here's my questions.

1. Ohana's or the Luau?
2. What is at Sci Fi? And is it worth it?
3. What have you heard about T-rex and can you make ressies?
4. Where do I request at POP taking into account Jon's needs and our need to be close to the main building?
5. Am I crazy?

Not sure yet, I have some money set aside because my original Dec trip to Vegas got cancelled/postponed?? So decided to use some of that $ for a Disney Dec trip w/ friends.

I was thinking the 2nd week of Dec, but if that's when Pop Warner is there no way I'm going then.

My cousin's Bday is the 2nd (possible stalking of you!), so maybe I can convice her and my friends to go then

Otherwise I might end up following V who's going later in Dec, but I'll miss her because she does weekends & I'd be there during the week.

Those are the 3 options floating in my head.

HI Z!!! I can't fanagle my way into the Japan trip (much as i wish...) my mom is unavailable to watch the kids and with the stuff poor SD has been through I wouldn't dream of leaving him.

Janet: Liked that article LOTS. However, I feel that unless they address the two HUGELY glaring errors at Pop (IMHO- The SERIOUS lack of anywhere to eat besides the dang food court and the lack of any personal touch, by way of customer service at all, I see failure ahead) It would be wonderful in theory if they could find a way to make an AFFORDABLE family suite type resort. I don't know. I haven't stayed at ASM/ASMU but I think that Pop's lack of being filled to capacity has more to do with the HUGENESS of it, and not it's lack of visual appeal. People aren't booking the Pop because it's pretty.....

This would be for DS9. His meds were working great, but within the last 2 months, he has seemed rather sad (more than his normal subdued mood). His teacher had the nurse observe and she talked with him for a few hours and he told her he doesn't like his meds because it makes him feel really sad. The ped said stop taking meds as it can make depression worse and that he needs to see a psych. We are trying to get an appt, but it takes time. In the meantime, his teacher wants an instant fix. She even called a social worker on us. The good thing is that they are tacked out at the moment and don't go back to school until Dec. 8.
