No joke! I did find it funny that D was VERY interested in getting pictures as soon as I got them. I'm getting over the baby thing - he's probably ready now.

Wait, I love your nephews look - Maddie had the same look before she told me, "Um, Mommy? I wanted a baby sister."

I just wanted to throw that out here and see what you guys though of the situation.

That's a tough one. It sounds like some scary situations - no one can blame you for not being excited about being around that. On the other hand, if she moves, she moves, and you can't stop it. I guess I think the best thing to do would be to establish good boundaries at the start, if she does move down - just be very clear about "no drop ins" and so forth, especially with people you don't know with her, if you KWIM. Can you gently remind her that you have kids and a life and won't be at her beck and call if she comes? Good luck.

Well, I worked all morning, getting the monthly billing done for our business. Getting ready to go to the Y to meet my friend to workout at 1:30pm. But I had to check in here first.

With regard to the Secret Santa/card/ornament discussion, I've got my cards printed (photocards), but not started yet. And I've done some looking for my ornament and gift, but haven't purchased anything yet. So, don't feel too bad, Carrie or CE. We've still got time!

Mel - I hope Gus feels better soon! And I hope you can get the stains out....

Dawn - have fun at the ballet tomorrow! That sounds like fun!

Katt - you need to come here! We would have such fun!

Jo - Glad the flight thing worked out! Only two more days....

Ed - I agree with what CE said. You can't stop her from moving, but you can stop her from overstepping the boundaries. You need to protect your family and not let her influence them in a bad way.

Heres my issue right now. I have a 25 Y.O half sister Elizabeth. . Shes also been very sick. she has Lupus and Fibromyalgia. needs knee surgery. is in the hospital about 1 or 2x a month. she just qualified for disability and gets food stamps and welfare

...... she called me crying and scared so she escaped with the kids for the weekend. ...........

heres my issue.......shes planning on moving down here with the kids to get away from all the carp and make a fresh start!! shes coming on Friday to look at Apartments. down here close to me. her parents think its a great idea! me? not so much!!
I think she needs way too much support than what I can give her. and I dont really want her "friends" following

I just dont really want the responsibilty as I would be the only family member down here. and I dont want to seem like heel and object either..
I just wanted to throw that out here and see what you guys though of the situation.

I am trying to put myself in your place... and I am torn as to what I would do and how much she would be relying on me.
I don't think it's HER... that is giving you the problem... it's the BAGGAGE( aka friends and boyfriends)
Being there is kids involved... you want them cared for...

I would probably offer help.. but under terms... and that would include outside influences. If she is truly wanting a clean start... that Means... her past is dead.

If she could not keep to my rules... then I would wash my hands of my family. That means the FIRST TIME.. I would have to close my door, and hope that I made the right decision, and that GOD would forgive me.

That sounds so mean.. but you can not carry her, her kids like that for permanent.

Good afternoon fockers! BUsy day at work, but I have a few minutes to check in.

So, I have pictures of my new niece!

Sorry no time to quote as I have to get Ellie to ballet but I had a call from my WDW contact and she was so lovely, she said not to worry that they'll book the flights for me and we won't have to pay so I'm You can't believe how relieved I am.

Bob called! Finally!

He's ok. He has a bad cold, he said Korea (where he is anyway) is FILTHY! The diritiest place he's EVER seen in fact. SO, that's not cool. He said that the food is pretty terrible and the neon is WAY WAY overdone. LOL.
He visited the DMZ between N and S Korea though. He saw alot of guards with machine guns and they take your passport when you get there, and then give it back later. Skeery! He's off to some other part of Korea the day after tomorrow (which is tomorrow night for us) and then back to Japan. He's flying home on Saturday!!!! Yay!!!!!

I agree with what everyone else has said Carrie. Let her know that you are there for her, but let her know that you can't/won't deal with any of the baggage...especially if it starts to interfere with YOUR family.
