Thats great Jen!! :yay: Are you feeling a little better about school now?:hug:
Sam is going into 10th grade and still doesnt have a locker, just could never figure it out..

I'm feeling a titch bit better about school. It gets better every day. Ask me next Wednesday...the first day! :eek: :faint:

Oh Yeah... A great MIL... You do know that All boys have to be in love with at LEAST 6 Cheerleaders in their lives... and try to date all 6.. at the same time :rotfl2: :rotfl2: JK/LA

:scared1:

:rotfl: BTW are you trying for the top poster on TFW 5.5 or something? ;)

Pffffft. Nooooo. :snooty:

I was so excited to pull up to Wilderness Lodge since we had not been there before, and we were not disappointed. It's lovely! :goodvibes

Loooooove it Angela!!

:eek: As a Super Cheer Mom (wanna see the 500 pics and videos???), I must object! ;)

Did you not see my disclaimer??? :eek:

I don't care if she's a freakin' cheerleader, chorist, or band geek. She's still a tramp. ;) :rotfl:

So, since we're all superb parents, I need some advice. :thumbsup2 I'd love to introduce Mamma Mia to the girls, but I don't want to explain the whole three daddies thing. Not to mention the scene on the beach with Christine Baranski and the bartender guy! :scared1:

Do I just act like there's nothing there and show them the move or tell them they just can't see it?

With Hairspray there was a message I wanted to talk to them about so we watched it. Of course, then the songs have lines like, "won't go all the way, but I'll go pretty far." :headache: :mad: I don't need my 7 yr old singing that!!! :eek:

I probably wouldn't let Jon watch it until I would have figured out a good explanation. But, I'm really strict. He wouldn't like it anyway.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, honies. Jon is sick. I'm thinking either a sinus infection or upper respiratory infection. He started heading downhill early this afternoon.
He spiked a fever...and when he does...I have to dose him with steroids. Because of his Addison's disease. Long explanation...and I"m not patient enough to go into it.
Anywho...pray that he stays controlled or we're off to the ER. Which would mean admitting him and IV cortizone.
He's sleeping now...so that's good. As long as I can keep his fever under control we can stay home...as long as he gets no worse. We'll head to the doc tomorrow.
Long night ahead of me. :sad2:
How did I not realize your mother worked there?! :rolleyes: A lovely woman from Jamaica or somewhere? Are You My Mother comes to mind now that I'm reading Dr. Suess with my nephew. :rotfl:
He tried very hard not to look like it. :rotfl2:
I will have toask her who that is...you'll get to meet her at Fockerfest:thumbsup2
I know I haven't posted much in the past few days, but I'm still here, Katt! Don't forget about me!!!!:flower3:
Okay, it's my turn to vent about in-laws a bit....
So, my DH is having a "procedure" next Thursday morning (really really really early). We have to be there at 6am. School starts here on Monday, so my DD7 will have to get on the bus. DH had called his parents (who live in our town) right after scheduling this appointment (about 3 weeks ago) to see if they could spend the night in our house the night before and take care of our girls during the morning. His dad said, no problem.
Well, he calls his parents tonight and his dad informed him that they are headed up north to their old house (which they haven't sold yet) on Tuesday. So, it seems that the agreement to watch our kids during DH's surgery didn't mean anything to them! :mad:
Now, I know that my mom will drive down 1 1/2 hours to watch my girls that morning without complaining, but it bugs me that they agreed to do it, until they found something more fun to do. They did the same thing when my DH tried to surprise me with a trip to Hawaii a few years ago. They were all set to watch the girls for half the time and then got a family wedding invitation and decided that was more important than our kids. So, once again, my mom had to step in and help us out.
And my MIL wonders why I trust my mom more than her????
Long night ahead of me. :sad2:
Jen, :hug: for you and Jon. I am sending all my good vibes to you!! Sleepless nights are the worst!
Jodi: :hug: for you too. In-laws STINK. :headache: I had to chuckle when I read your post. I almost predicted what you were going to say because MY in-laws would do the SAME. As soon as my dh pinned them down to a date so that we'd know if they'd babysit for F.F., they SUDDENLY couldn't make it to Michigan until Sept. Funny.....:rolleyes1
Sometimes I wonder why they even PRETEND to care. They've never babysat in 16 years.... NOT once. Not even for us to get a cup of coffee.
Don't let it get to you. My mom is like your mom. She'd do anything to help us out and she's in Boston! But, the reward is that my boys LOVE her and they barely LIKE my in-laws!!
MEL:banana:
:wave: Nighty night ya'll. Jon's up...and so is the fever. We're off to do wet socks and fever packs. :sad2: See ya'll manana.
MEL:banana:
Thanks, guys! They actually do babysit, but not without strings, if you know what I mean. We get a huge guilt trip every time we ask. They moved down here to be "closer to their grandkids." But then they never want to see them.
But I'm d**ned if I do and d**ned if I don't ask them to help us when we go out of town. If we don't ask them, they think we don't trust them (which we really don't) and if we do, we don't know for sure that they'll follow through. It's just frustrating!!!!
Mel - I'm glad my mom only lives an hour and a half away. That's the main reason we moved back to Indiana when I was pregnant with DD7. We were living in Fairfax County Virginia up until her birth and I knew that I needed to be closer to my mom. She's wonderful and the kids love her! Whenever we mention going away, they always ask if MeeMee can come stay with them. And conversely, whenever we tell them that Nana and Grandpa are coming, they get somewhat depressed. They'd rather have a teenaged sitter...
:wave: Nighty night ya'll. Jon's up...and so is the fever. We're off to do wet socks and fever packs. :sad2: See ya'll manana.
:hug: Jen - I'll say a prayer for you and Jon. Hope you get some sleep tonight! :hug:
On a much better note than my previous post, we got the official class lists for DD7's school tonight. While we were standing at the school's front doors looking at the lists, my DD's teacher walked up to go inside and work in her room. DD7 saw her and ran over and gave her a big hug and said that she was so glad to be in her class. And the teacher responded in kind. She said that she was very excited to have found out that my DD was in her class too. So, I'm feeling pretty good about this year! She seems very nice and my DD needs a sweet teacher for once. :cutie:
Awwww! What a cute sight! Is she in 2nd grade this year? My ds is heading into 1st. We get out class lists next week, I think... I am waiting patiently! We don't start school until after Labor Day. When do you start?
I really needed something sweet!!! so it was between making some brownies and pigging on the mix...yummy!!! or a margarita...just sat down with my margarita! :banana: waiting for Steves uniform to dry, I have to do the pull it out of the dryer quick routine so I dont have to iron it! ;)
Jen,,I really hope Jons fever is going down and you didnt have to take him to the ER..hugs and thoughts for you two!! :hug:
Jodi. sorry about the in law issues. :hug: Steves parents live in our town and are really good about babysitting when we ask. which is hardly ever..I have this thing about asking for babysitting. I dont like to put people out. the only thing I wish they did more was spend some time with them going places. they never call and take them to the Zoo or movies or anything. they just see them at there house or for a birthday party...my family lives 2 hours north in Mass. I`m going to them about taking the kids for IP DIP. not sure which one yet....
Mel! Your light is on...are you over at your TR updating? :3dglasses glad to read that your son is doing better! :hug:
LOL, no Carrie, I'm here lurking....:rolleyes:
I'm watching John and Kate plus 8! And having my FIRST glass of wine ALL week!! I've had such a horrible week, but I was afraid to be impaired in case my son needed me....
He seems good now!
Your margarita sounds soooo yummy.
MEL:banana:
Yes it yummy!! I wasnt sure if I should have one. Steve has been getting on me for drinking too much again..:sad2: Which I dont!! :snooty:
ohh girls. Can I join you in one? I could use one to put me to sleep! :)
Mel- Reruns?
Carrie- I am sure you don't. Is he sensitive for a reason?
