I'm in a grump and I'm not sure why So thought I'd DIS!

I am cleaning while the gang is all out dirt bike riding and 4 wheeling!But I have the house to myself other than 2nd cousin Snoopy!! They are going to a local amusment park tomorrow not sure if I want to go but may .I like having the peace and quiet at home !!

T-ball this morning was fun and then we went to lunch at a little bagel place we like. Just got back and D's asked me to measure the garden areas for new mulch. I made the mistake of saying I should do some gardening - now I'll have to spread mulch all day. If we do the playground we have to get a truck load, which is really awful. He said he might not order that for now - it's still pretty "cushy" under there, so I don't know that we need it.

Anyone want some zebra grass? It's pretty! (But it spreads. I don't know what to do with it all! )

D's on call this weekend, which he says he told me - but my brain is getting full, I don't remember hearing it. They've been so busy - usually weekend stand-by is a cakewalk, but I'm worried that he'll end up going somewhere, and with Monday off, that's part of the "weekend" this time.

At any rate, either this afternoon or tomorrow I've asked him to take the boys and go do something "manly" so that I can start cleaning. StepMIL is the one who practically does the "white glove" test, and while I know that things I clean now won't stay nice until Wednesday as far as clutter goes, I can do some "deep cleaning" now that will help, as in working on the guest rooms (because they can't sleep in our queen size guest bed, it's too small... ) so she sleeps on the hide-a-bed in the office. Plus I need to attack our room some - it's not bad, but I am going to tell them to move in there once I'm gone, so it needs to be pristine, too. Blah.

At any rate, I'd better get off my duff and go garden or something. I just wanted to check in and say hi!

It's me being silly, it started when she edited stuff on TFW board because I'd missed commas Then she made a comment I took as rude (she was probably joking) under the bird photos on the photography board so I then made a comment on the I'm p'd off thread which she replied too! I know it's me just being sensitive

Pretty Big for Going to Lakes, beaches, grilling out with family and friends, and lots of Alcohol consumption.

Things are so different .. when I was growing up you ALWAYS went to the cemetary and put flowers on the graves of your family. Sadly I have not done that lately. Mom ,Dad, And Terry are 5 hours away. I feel guity not going home... BUT there is NOTHING to go back to except 3 plots of dirt.

Honestly.. no one even seems to remember why we have Memorial Day. To remember those who lost their llives in the Military. It's just a big happy party day. Not that there is anything wrong with that. We need to be with family and friends and enjoy them while they are with us... for tomorrow.. who knows.

Mel’s Garage Sale Day 3

There’s not much left....

10:27 am - Sold $32.50 worth of stuff so far. Business is slow. Weird. I would’ve thought that it would be WAY busier than Thursday and Friday...

I’m sitting in the garage out of the sun. I have my sunblock on but I’m still trying to say in the shade. I don’t like to be sunburned!

My boys and friends are about to set up a hot dog/soda stand. They are really excited to sell hot dogs to the people who come by. I hope they do sell some or we’ll be eating hotdogs for a long time!

I can’t believe that I haven’t had hardly ANY customers today. It’s dead!! I have only made $57 so far and it’s now 12:26 pm. Why hasn’t this sold???

It’s now 2:51 pm. Only $67 so far. My DH is out here helping me with the hot dogs. The kids abandoned their post.

We are gonna leave them home and go to see Speed Racer again when I get everything picked up. He saw it once already, but I haven’t. I’m just going because it’s a chance to get out of here for a couple of hours.

Decided to photograph my pretty pansies in front of my door. Gosh I’m bored.

It’s now 3:11 pm. I am going to start picking up stuff and separating the VERY few things out that I am going to Ebay and NOT donate. The rest is going to goodwill. I sold a total of $494 as of now. Even if I don’t sell anything else, I’m happy. It paid for my airfare ($275) to Fockerfest and it paid for $219 of my hotel bill. ($246 + tax) That’s not too shabby.

Good luck to everyone who’s doing it next week and beyond!

Mel- I wish I lived near you. I would have snapped that LP castle up in a heartbeat! We're talking about medieval times and my two younger ones would be in heaven playing with that!

In fact, I just bought A a knight costume to play in. he'll be very excited.

Jo: We were gone all day yesterday. We have the girls' dance recital tonight and their bday party tomorrow. B's also being promoted to the middle school dept at church tomorrow. B has a few girls sleeping over, so that's ending Monday. Then I was hoping to chill, but we were invited to a cookout Monday. I wasn't going to go, but they are moving in July, so I said we'd be there...
