Hi Fockers!

Mo, :hug::hug: for Namath

Lori :woohoo: for the test score

Rosie :rotfl2:

Jo, 6 or 7 weeks! :scared1: Wow! Ours have been in school for 3 weeks already!

V, sorry bout Leo :hug: Hope he feels better real soon

+++++++++++++++++++++

Well the new manager is turning out exactly as I expected him to be. :rolleyes: He is great for the company. The owner and general manager have a vision for engineering and this guy has the know-how and the ability to make their vision a reality. But I don't think he is a good fit for me. He is talking about us all getting our masters, our PE license, writing papers and presenting them at symposiums, and tons of other stuff that I am not interested in doing. I like the way things were. Punch in... do my work... punch out... get paid. I've never been a career oriented person. I work to support my family but not because I love my job. I honestly think he would do all this for free just because he loves engineering so much. In fact I got a look at his car today and his tag is "MR ENGR" I am not kidding.

I have been struggling with this job for a while now and have been praying for a sign on whether or not I should stay. I think this just may be it. It may be time for me to move on. But I have no idea what to.

We have open house tonight at the school. Should be fun.

Saw Dr. Seigle yesterday and he said the pressure is up again (28) and that he's going to order more surgery.

MEL:banana:
Oh no! Sorry to hear that.

Jess is funny she has made a spreadsheet already for our December trip, written in where she wants to dine etc etc, really don't know where she gets it from :confused: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I don't know, but I don't think it was from David. :rotfl2:

We cleaned the house yesterday so we could have family time later. :thumbsup2
Sounds nice! How is everything going with school?

That BOGO is a great deal. We have a Crocs outlet by us. DH went to the outlets on Saturday and came home with 2 pairs for Baby Girl. He paid $5 for 2 pairs of Mary Janes.

hey guys!

Less than a week until our trip to DL
Now i have to get on the ball and start my 10 page paper.
:woohoo: on the trip.
The 10 page paper sounds fun, too. :upsidedow

Last night we had a camp-in at our church for the 1st-6th graders. .
[/COLOR]
That does sound like a blast! I'm sure the kids were loving it.
:lmao: at the micro, Jo. Waldo puts aluminum foil in our ALL the time - drives me NUTS!

The fires are pretty bad down here. Maddie and Evan stayed with Andy's sister last night and she's about 5 miles from the fire line.
When you put aluminum foil in the microwave, doesn't it start sparking? Does he just leave it in?

That is scary about the fires.
Sometimes in the midde of winter I forget that we don't get Fires ,or tornados etc here in WNY!!!:worship:We just get BLIZZARDS!!!:lmao:
:scared1: A blizzard here is 3 inches of snow.
Just popping in to ask for some prayers.

Namath's ultrasound was not good, it looks like a kidney is collapsing.

I was at the vet's for over 3 hours and now are waiting for the specialist to read the films and figure out what is going on. Should know more later today.

From what I understand dogs can live with one healthy kidney, just as humans do.

If he does need surgery I need to know when, if it has to be soon, I may be canceling my vacation to stay home and take care of him. I could not ask my mother to do that while I'm off in Florida having fun (plus how much fun would I have at that point)...

I am so glad to have internet access again!
:banana:

I missed you all out at Epcot Saturday. :goodvibes My dad got a call from Goofy for his b'day, and a Mexican dessert from San Angel. They are gone now and I can relax all by myself.
Did you take pics?
We decided to go to Vegas in the spring. Neither of us have ever been so any tips would be helpful. We are not gamblers and are NOT getting married so what else would you suggest we do
Never been to Vegas either. Our friends love Vegas like we love Disney. Last year they did Food and Wine Festival with us and now they say it is our turn to go to Vegas with them. They said all the hotels are an experience in itself and some have free shows.
LOL, Kristel - Peter Frampton invented the voice box guitar, Del Casher invented the wah-wah pedal. ;)
You are just full of trivia! You need to go do trivia with Kat.

J
The specialist doesn't feel Namath is in any immediate danger. He suggests a round of antibiotics and wait and see.
Hope everything is okay with him after the meds.
How are you doing?

I had a session with a human resources person at the store today to fix up my resume. I also went to see an old friend today and he may have a lead on a full time job! That would be amazing, it's 3 times as much as I make now and I could prob work at Disney for a day or 2 still and keep the discount!

Tomorrow i am going to a bar in the west village in the city for Trivia.

Hope it all works out with the job.

Hey everyone! I tried to catch up some. Quoted some above and I know I missed a lot of people, but it doesn't mean I'm not thinking about all of you. :goodvibes

I was sick for a week. Still have a cough and congestion. I had fever for 4 days. Baby Girl got sick and she had fever for 6 days. I took her to the dr last week and they wouldn't give her anything. Gave me the ole "It's just a virus." I took her back to the dr yesterday and she has an ear infection. At least she's back at school. I really think we both had the swine flu. Hopefully that means we can't get it again.

I got on the sub list for Baby Girl's school. They called me yesterday to sub and I also subbed for 2 hours today. DH asked me how much I'm getting paid and I told him I don't know. I never even asked. :rotfl2: He can't believe I didn't ask. I told him I figured it was minimum wage or not much more, but at least I'm getting something, versus sitting around at home. I was doing some freelance work, but have been a total slacker and didn't do anything all summer.

DS starts baseball this week. They practice twice a week for 1 1/2 hours. I had no idea. I am dreading sitting at the ball field with Baby Girl that long. I'm going to have to come up with some activities.

Anyone booking a Disney cruise with the kids are free deal? I checked out some prices for Feb, where the kids would only miss 1 day of school. DH and I are going to talk about it tonight.

We got some devastating news yesterday....devastating for the drama queen, but all will be ok.

All three of my children are allergic to dogs....or as the Dr put it, they have a little dog allergy, level II. So we are joking that they are allergic to little dogs i.e. our dachshund. hehe. But DD is also allergic to cats and to her, her world has ended. She has been looking forward to the day she is own her own so she can have a cat (DH is allergic). Also, DD wants to be a vet; she is the type that fears no animal and will let dogs lick her in the face (yuck!). To make matters worse, she is also allergic to cod fish which is found in fish sticks, meatless hotdogs, some bologna, and imitation crabmeat such as found in California Rolls, her favorite sushi. Oh and she is allergic to oak trees as well.
:hug: FWIW, I'm allergic to cats, shellfish and oaks (among a host of other items.) I have 2 cats, looove crab and live in a condo literally surrounded by live oaks. :rotfl: The Power of Zyrtec and an emergency inhaler. :thumbsup2 Not the ideal situation, but absolutely possible!

aww. that stinks. Sounds like my old drum section leader. She was allergic to eggs, nuts, beans, most pitted fruits, dogs, cats, and grasses. :headache:

about halfway done with my rough draft so far. Shouldnt take much longer, but then i have to edit out all the repetitive parts and make the studies flow well into each other. It took me days to get all my information organized. it will be about the evolution of primates and how the distinctive characteristics of primates are caused by them living in arboreal habitats. (trees ;)) The studies that I'm working with compare opossums to primates because curiously, opossums that live in trees share the same characteristics, whereas opossums that live only on the ground do not.:goodvibes

Only 2 more sleeps until we leave for our trip, and 3 sleeps until DL!:banana: If my fuzzy math is correct that means 2 days until DL!:thumbsup2

Hi everyone!!!

Just got the kids to bed and checked my school e-mail. I scored 100% on the test I just took! :woohoo: (The only one too!) A in class an no final! And here I was worried about it. :rotfl:

Yee Haw!!! :woohoo:

Hey all just a hello from me. I'm still alive and kicking (barely sometimes). Just trying to get through each day, one day at a time.

It was fun last week. Unfortunately I ma also meeting with Pants to let him in on everything thats going on, i know its gonna break his heart.

Anyways I'm off to eat some ice cream and head to bed- because I can.

Some hugs for Mo!

I'm glad you are planning ahead! What would the new job involve? :goodvibes

Not much going on today. My ironing pile is smaller but I must get it finished. :rolleyes: The US Open started yesterday so at least I have something to wach wilst I'm busy. Kat, if you see my boyfriend in town, Rafael Nadal, please take a picture. :goodvibes

Ironing and tennis, what a great combo.

Just went and played 9 holes with Jess, Elie walked round. I don't know why but I just lose it with her everytime. If I ever have to look for my ball she just stands there and watches me. Everytime I tell her she has to help as it's rude and bad etiquette not too but she never remembers. I also think they're ready to go back to school as they constantly annoy each other, sometimes just in a jokey way but I don't know that and think they're serious :( Ells goes on Friday and Jess on Monday so only a few more days left!!!

Are you talking about El or Jess with the ball? Shoot, you hit the dang thing, I'd make you look for your own ball too. What kinda' game makes you help your opponent find a ball they lost? :rotfl2: Good luck to the girls for the new school year.

Hi all! :wave:

Fun times around here... NOT. Got a call from Leo's school yesterday that he was in the clinic with a "scratchy" throat. Well, our allergies have been horrible and he wasn't running a fever and seemed to be fine, so back to class he went. Only to be isolated from all the other kids in the after-school program. Nice.

This morning, he's totally congested. Still no fever or anything else to indicate the dreaded Swine Flu, but sure as anything if I sent him to school he'd wind up in the clinic because Swine Flu hysteria's running high here. So he's home with Gramma.

Work... is as drama-ridden as always. :headache: I'm desperate for a break - hooray for Labor Day!

I hope it is just his allergies!!! :hug:

We had a good time at BA's game last nite--posted some pics of her on FB.
Went to the eye doctor this morning as I am having trouble reading things up close without extending my arms....:rolleyes:...but turns out my eyes have got BETTER with age and now my contacts are too strong! So first time for a weaker prescription ever!

Then my EAR doctor called and got me scheduled for an appt at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville on 9/29 for a consultation about my ear surgery. It's over a 6 hour drive but he's supposed to be a really good surgeon for this procedure. My left ear is shot now...worse than that....it BUZZZES all the time which stops my right ear from hearing.
so we'll see what he says!

Awesome news about your eyes! I hope they can help you with your hearing.

OMG! That's just depressing. Big hug to your DD.

I'm glad you got some subbing time. If you like what you do it doesn't matter what you get paid.
Good luck with the baseball.
A cruise would be wonderful!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I sent Leo back to school today... here's hoping he makes it through the day and isn't sent to solitary! :rolleyes:
I finally got a riding lesson in last night. The last two weeks were rained out, so it was long-overdue! I always come away with a better outlook on life after some equine time. :goodvibes
What else? I'm knee-deep in Dec. trip planning mode; trying to decide where to eat mostly.
It's sure been quiet all over the DIS - back to school time maybe? :confused3
back for my monthly post. hopefully, i will get a weekend job soon and will be around more. i would only work 2 12 hour shifts on the weekend and 1 8 hour shift during the week. only 32 hours / week, plus full time benefits and it pays $10/hr more.
i've skimmed a bit, but sure i missed a lot. apologies in advance.
janet-- i'm so sorry. i hope you start getting better soon. you definately need a do-over.
kat-- wow. i'm sorry. that really sucks. i've never been through a divorce/separation, but have had other hard times. the only advice i can give is to keep your head up, let your feelings out, and stay optimistic. i know it's hard, but whatever direction this takes you, it WILL work out. i always try to have the attitude that things will eventually work out for the best. it may be hard to see at the time, but i have found that it really helps to stay positive. lots of luck and i will be thinking of you. pm or message me via facebook your number. i'm up all night 3 times and week and usually stay up late the others. that way if you're up late and need someone to talk/text, i will be there. :hug:
Hey Guys!
I am back from my trip out to the West Coast to visit with my Dad and Grandma. Had a good time, the step-mother was super strange and crazy as usual but no surprises there. We went on lots of hikes, one where my Dad had me scaling a mountain via a rockface and I was so scared of the height/falling that I froze up and had a crying fit. :rolleyes: I am such a wimp. :laughing:
The last two days we were there we were pretty much stuck inside as the smoke from the forest fire was so bad that you could barely see in front of you. Very very thick. We couldn't believe it as the fire was 100 km (1 hour) away, Dad says the smoke from the fires really travels though.
OMG! i just saw my ticker and i only have 2 weeks till disney. carp, carp, double carp. well, i mean i'm happy , but have loads to do!! we're leaving friday am sept 18th and driving to savannah, staying overnight at the marriott.
things have been busy as usual. should slow down now as we have rented our house in ohio. they are very nice people, middle aged couple with no kids at home. the guy is retired military and now works for usps, so we are not worried about receiving rent from them. they do have 2 dogs (greyhounds), so we are charging them $50/month more than we had planned. i have a dog and completely understand how hard it is to rent. but, i was always willing to pay more/month or give a nonrefundable pet deposit. they were fine with it. they just moved back from texas since their parents are getting older and want to be closer. they are saving money to buy a farm in a couple years, hence wanting to rent. it's crazy the number of calls we received. it was on the market for approx. 10 months. less than 10 people looked at it. i put the ad in the local paper on monday and received about 30 calls that day! :eek:
we showed it to about 15 different people. my husband drafted an application and did background checks. it was actually very sad. we had quite a few people apply who were on unemployment. but, what happens when that runs out. there was one family with 3 kids, very nice family, where husband lost his job. i felt so bad for them and wanted to rent to them. my husband felt bad too, but said we really have to think about our finances and what happens if they can't pay the rent. i know we have to think of ourselves first, but it made be feels so dirty and guilty. seriously, i could never be a business person bc i make everything personal. at least it's over and now i can cross that off the list.
now, we're trying to figure out where we're going to live long term. i'm so wishy washy about where to move that i drive myself nuts. everytime i talk about i picture all my friends / family doing this :rolleyes: :rotfl2:
but, i have figured it out a bit. 1. would love to move to florida. but, job security for husband is nonexsistant. that would be irresponsible. 2. houston is nice, job security for husband is great. but, moving my kids over 1000 miles from their grandparents, probably not the best option. 3. stay here. husband loves job, we both hate the area. i make less money. house prices are almost double compared to ohio. 4. move to pittsburgh. job security for husband. close to a city (if you can call it that :laughing:) but, i don't really like pittsburgh. 5. move back to ohio, closer to pa, so husband can drive ( about 45 min drive). i would make more money. houses are reasonable. good schools. kids would be close to their old friends. both sets of grandparents close.
so, we haven't decided for sure, but leaning towards ohio. i just want to get somewhere and stay there before the kids get much older.
wow, i've rambled on haven't i? see what happens when i'm gone a month!
oh, don't want to be braggy, but i am so happy about this i just can't help myself. i'm down 33 lbs since january. i feel so much better. i'm only losing 3-4 lbs a month now, but i'll take it.
i'm not really "dieting". i'm just eating a lot less of whatever i want. that works best for me.
hopefully, i can start keeping up here. oh, and who all has trip reports?
