Wow, it's quiet around here...

I've had a busy day - we are trying to both get ready to go and get the house ready for company when we get back. I finally called future-SIL rather than BIL and got through - only to find out that they didn't realize the house we rented is only accessible by boat and are planning on arriving in Boston (rather than our close Manchester, NH airport) at nearly midnight on Wed. So, they talked about renting a car, but we have limited parking and won't be able to boat to get them, so I think one of us will have to come to Boston Wed., pick them up and come sleep here at my real house, and then drive them to the lake Thurs. D really wants BIL and SIL to be at the lake when his dad arrives - their being here is also part of the surprise of the trip.

Then - rant ahead - D decides that today has to be the day to clean up our screen porch. We have a table and chairs out there, and it's a horrible mess with pollen and bugs, but with the weather, we've not even wanted to be out there this year, so I had let it go for now. We have ONE NIGHT with people back here, but D got all pissy and we ended up cleaning that. Because, you know, I didn't have enough to do with cleaning the actual house AND trying to pack. :headache:

I went to the grocery, and trying to pick up even enough for a few dinners, all our breakfasts and lunches and snacks and so forth involved buying little salad dressings, olive oil, ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc. and cost me nearly $300. :sad2:

I am hot, grouchy, and hungry. I guess I need to go pick up dinner - D also decided that we shouldn't cook to involve less mess and leftovers, which makes sense, but... I need to call it in and go get it.

I hope everyone else is having a better day. The kids did have fun at the birthday party, and I was therefore able to do the grocery shopping by myself. ;)

Sweet! :cool1: I have the "old" 8GB one and it's PLENTY big enough and fast enough. :thumbsup2

No, sadly. And Disboards is one of the least "iPhone-friendly" websites I've tried on my phone. It's do-able, but a PITA.

There are times I'd love to just puke and be done with it, but I can't - my body just doesn't do that! I've only thrown up 4-5 times in my life and only from one of two things: tequila or food poisoning. :rolleyes:

Yes please! :yay:

I've been really happy with the AT&T so far. :thumbsup2

Oh no, I'm not negative at all - just realistic! :rotfl: Thanks - Leo's much better. I'm still nauseous, but rolling along.

It was 88 at 6am here. :rolleyes: We're expecting record highs today - high 90s with heat index approaching 110. :faint:

I really, really doubt they'll disappear. The company was very good at making things out of Croslite, but very, very bad at running a business. I predict they'll file for bankruptcy and another company will take them over. Nike's at the top of my list.

I've converted them to PDFs to save them. But for the actual park, I copy the pertinent info., paste it into my main Excel Plan and email it to myself. Then I can pull it up on my iPhone! :teeth:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PHEW, I went to the parents open house at Leo's Horse Camp this morning and was it ever HOT! :faint: But it was nice to finally meet the inhabitants of the Little Barn - chickens, cow, miniature horses, sheep, goats.
My cousin's coming up form Miami tomorrow to hang with us. I haven't seen her in a couple years, so I'm excited!
After that, there's only one full week and weekend before WDW! :woohoo::banana::yay:
Sure, CE... just rub it in to my gapping wounds. ;) See, here in LA, AT&T has a horrible reputation. Verizon is pretty much what most peeps have, well, except those peeps with the iPhone. :laughing:
Here, too! My kids love their crocs.
Awww... poor Robin. :guilty: But :lmao: that you tried to buy him a dance!
Ahem. I take the print out and then transfer it to an excel spreadsheet where I shrink it down to say a 4"x4" square, then I print it out on color coded cardstock, laminate it and attach it to a book ring. :teeth: But that's just me. ;)
*************************************************
Happy Friday Fockers!!! :yay:
Less than 2 weeks until I am in my happy place with some of my favorite people! I can't wait! :banana:
Not much to report. I'm still looking at my kitchen wondering if the appliances/food/plates/etc. will magically box themselves. :scratchin: I've got to head to the mall today and get Evan some shoes and find me a new lip gloss at Sephora. Other than that, another chill day.
Last night Waldo and I were watching LA Ink and these 2 guys were getting tats of their fathers who had passed away. Joking, Waldo asked if I would get a tat of him when he's gone and I said "Sure, dad! I'll get a tat of you in a Where's Waldo outfit complete with striped shirt, beenie and black circle glasses!" :rotfl2: Yeah, he didn't think that was funny. :rolleyes1
Weeeeeeeell...I suppose I really should work on the kitchen. I'm in total denial... I don't want to open that can of worms today. Maybe tomorrow. ;)
Thanks! I'm thinking I can atta them to my TR notebooks.
DULUTH, Minn. — Police are looking for a man with a self-professed sexual fetish for slashing rubber balls. Police have been seeking the 31-year-old since surveillance tape allegedly showed him breaking into a fitness clinic in May and slashing exercise balls.
Authorities are familiar with the man. A criminal complaint released Thursday said he was convicted in 2005 of breaking into a sports facility at the University of Minnesota in Duluth and slashing about 70 balls. Each ball cost between $30 and $60.
The complaint says when he pleaded guilty in that case, he admitted slashing more than 40 other balls at two clinics.
Court documents said the man told police he slashed the rubber balls to satisfy a sexual urge. Experts said he has an unusual attraction to inflatable exercise devices.
Unusal !!:confused3 I call it weird :rotfl2:But rather excercise balls than womens throats !!!:scared1:
Experts said he has an unusual attraction to inflatable exercise devices.
Why can't I have that affliction? (in a good way of course ;))
Dang you, exercise ball, dang you for giving me these rock hard abs.....I'll show you (insert psycho music) :rolleyes1
EWWWWW!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We drove up to DH's potential new place of employment. It is about an hour away which is unfortunately still closer than his current job. He still hasn't made a decision yet but wants to think it over until Monday. Then we stopped at a furniture outlet and bought some book shelves for Delta's room. He desperately needed some toy storage.

Now we are watching slumdog millionaire. Happy saturday Fockers!

Dudes. Youv'e gotta get on the BCP with no breaks bandwagon - this stuff is GREAT! Haven't had a "that time of the month" in a year.

Awww...wish I could...I can't take BCP's...for some reason they mess with my BP...really wish I could do something...my "time" has gotten sooo bad ever since I had M. It's awful.:sad2:

I don't really need to take BCP's anyway...I had Tony "fixed"...:rotfl2:

So, let's see, I'm about 2 weeks out from WDW... yep, it's time. Time for us to start getting sick. You know this always happens with me, right?!

OMG - BORG!! I just said to Tony this morning that I don't even have to look at the calendar to know that we're within 2 weeks of our trip...M's sick. Came home from Six Flags the other night with a hoarse voice and by last night he barely had any voice at all and a fever...:sad2:

Happy belated Anniversary to Janet and Jim and Jo and David! Sorry I'm a day late. And happy birthday to Jess She's 13, Jo?

I'm piggy-backing off you Kate...I neglected to send wishes to everyone too...sorry I missed all the big events gang! Hope they were happy!!

I'm a puker...in fact, I recognized a garbage can or two in Kat's pictures of Coney Island.

OMG - too funny!!!

And LL, what's this about add-on-itis?????

Well, we were supposed to leave on the 31st to drive down, right? Well, we're having the tower crane taken down at work so the jobsite's going to be closed for safety reasons. If the job is going to be closed, it's a waste of a perfectly good vacation day, right?

THEN, Michelle knew of someone who had points to rent...a sign, don'tcha think? Well, renting points for the night I was paying cash at SSR was like half the cost...SSR is nearly twice the cost per night as a night at CBR...

Sooooo...I put my fuzzy thinking cap on...:teacher: I rented the points, cancelled my cash night at SSR and added the night of the 30th...Wooo Hooooo:cool1:

But it's my week, too - can the Fockers affect each other through the computer, even chemically controlled?

Years ago I read an article that women who are close tend to get on the same "schedule"...How strange that almost all of us are...errrrr...."Flying the Cotton Rocket" at the same time!!

I should serisouly be paid a marketing salary for Yaz - I might be its biggest proponent and loudest voice, lol! Glowing, spot-free skin, no mood swings, no pain and unexpected visits. It's bliss!

Sure, go ahead...keep rubbing it in....:rolleyes:

Oh and this is what Omicron said to me last night when he wasn't getting his way:

When I have my own house and you have to live with me because you are so old and I have to babysit you. Then I am going to make all my own rules and you aren't going to get any votes at all!

:lmao:OMG - too funny!

I tell M that when I get old I'm going to live with him and he'll have to wipe MY butt for a change...

The WoD NYC is closing in January, so no more job after that. Thats all the more reason I wanna go down before I am no longer a CM!

Oh man...I never got to go there. That bums me out...

Less than 2 weeks until I am in my happy place with some of my favorite people! I can't wait!

Me too!!!:thumbsup2

Not much to report. I'm still looking at my kitchen wondering if the appliances/food/plates/etc. will magically box themselves. :scratchin:

Good luck with that one!! Hey - make sure you take before and after pictures of the kitchen!! Not only so you can show us, but later on if you ever re-fi or sell, the pictures help. Trust me!

Last night Waldo and I were watching LA Ink and these 2 guys were getting tats of their fathers who had passed away. Joking, Waldo asked if I would get a tat of him when he's gone and I said "Sure, dad! I'll get a tat of you in a Where's Waldo outfit complete with striped shirt, beenie and black circle glasses!" Yeah, he didn't think that was funny. :rolleyes1

OMG...what a riot!!:rotfl2:

Weeeeeeeell...I suppose I really should work on the kitchen. I'm in total denial... I don't want to open that can of worms today. Maybe tomorrow.

I recently read something about worms.....now what was that?
:lmao:
;):rotfl2: Good one!!

Well, I think I'm going to go to Office Depot today and get a couple of things for school supplies. There's no required list on the school website so I'll at least get him a notebook and some pencils I guess:confused3 At least he'll have something for the first day of school...

And there's a shoe store with a big sale and they have Crocs so I'm going to go see what they have...Anybody have Cretes? I think that's the ones...the weird looking flips but with no nubs? Wonder if they're comfy? And I need to find a new pair of boots for work. Fun.:rolleyes:

Very quickly, I wanted to stop by and say, "Bye!" We are off - with a van load of things that may or may not fit on the boat to get to the house. :rotfl:

I'll probably try to read along here some from my phone, but won't be posting much. I hope you all have a great week, and I'll "see' you next Monday (we are home Sunday night, but with 4 extra people still in the house, so...)

I'll miss you! :grouphug:

Hi Fockers!

Crazy week, car trouble, luckily covered by warranty so no cost to me and I got a Loaner Jetta (I have a VW Touareg). Loved the Jetta, fun car to drive.

Also had another needle stuck in my foot:headache: Not making much progress there.

I have to go to Manhattan this week for work, so that means a lousy commute that day. And another shot in the foot on Thursday:headache:

So how are all my favorite internet friends:hug:

So I wasn't going to renew my AP when I'm there in Sept (expires 9/26) since I didn't plan on being there until next Sept. Well, I have been wanting to go for all the Holiday events for a long time but vacation time in Dec is not a reality for me. I was looking at the dates for this year and if I flew down on Thanksgiving day and left the following Monday. I would be able to do the CP, Osborne lights and MVMCP as well as see the deluxe resorts and see all the decorations there and the parks. I would love to tour WS and all the different traditions, etc. I called Member Services and they had a studio open at SSR for Fri - Sun night. I refuse to use the points for Thursday as I wouldn't be there long enough if I flew in that day. I, GASP, look away T, booked a room at AS Music for now, just to sleep and shower in. Murph has said she would watch the pugs. All I need is the day off that Monday (even if just the morning as I could take a 8am flight and if needed be in the office that afternoon). The flights aren't bad since I would be flying on the holiday and Monday. I checked and there are tix left for the 11/29 MVMCP. I'm so excited, will talk to my boss this week (he's off tomorrow). If he says yes, even to only half a day on Monday I'm going for it. I want to see the World at Christmas. ('91 I was there Christmas week and well, things are a lot different now). I'm not worried about the crowds, because I really don't need to ride the rides, just want to see and experience the holiday events.

Anyone do the CP dinner package and their thoughts, I think I would go for the 6:45 show and maybe Garden Grill since that is tier1, I'm going to try and make this an economical trip. Probably won't even rent a car:eek: (haven't done that since '94)

Wow I am rambling, but I'm excited at the thought of seeing my happy place all decked out!

Anyone with hints who have been there at this time?

later Fockers!

Ooooo! I have been wanting to go in December too. Would this be a solo trip? I'm still not brave enough to do that yet.

Evening ladies. Awfully quiet 'round here. :confused3
We (and when I say we I mean 'I') successfully did all school supply shopping. I think everyone is ok with clothes but everyone needs shoes and I wont buy those without the kids trying them on so I guess I will have to do that the next couple of weeks. Then we are all set for school to start :woohoo:

Other than that is has been a productive weekend. I cleaned out Delta's room (that is three down and two more rooms to go if you are counting). Washed the kids sheets, got caught up on laundry, helped my brother with his engineering economics homework, and even marked some things off on our honey-do list. :cloud9: On the downside we are in the hole on sleep :laughing:

Still no decision yet regarding DHs job. there are pros and cons either way :teacher: and he is having a hard time deciding.

Alpha and Delta are coming back and we are going to the drive-in tonight to see Ice Age 3.

I have to go to Manhattan this week for work, so that means a lousy commute that day.

UM hello?! NYer here LOL. Dinner maybe??????

Anyone with hints who have been there at this time?

Just expect it to be crowded and stroll through it all! Osbourne is awesome late in the evening, you can even get some time as people are leaving so it wont be as crowded. Buy some gingerbread from the GF!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am TIRED.
I averted my call in shift yesterday (YAY!!) so I relaxed all day with KC. We ended up doing laundry around dinner time and it was so empty it was great. At least it's all done.
I worked this morning. My first Sunday shift. It was weird and quiet. I got my own aisle to take care of now, adult apparel & accessories. Anyone else find it funny i get the aisle with the purses in it? I spent 4 hours cleaning and organizing it to my liking. Tomorrow I work 10-3. Then I need to cook for the week because we have no cheese for chicken cutlet parm today.
KC went to fix his friends PC so it's peaceful here. i even napped for a bit.
SO Atlantic City is becoming a big 'ole mess. We are still going but the people are dropping like flies!!! Suddenly my friend D can't make it, which I found out in a text msg. GRR. So we invited one other person, but it looks like me, KC & Pants. I just wanna go and swim and relax! These disorganized people are killing me!
AND there is some more change going on in my PTR too.
Really I just need a hot bath. ;)
Wow it has been quiet around here !! Well gotta tell you about my terrible day:rotfl2: Just joking I had a good one One of those work days that really aren't !!!:lmao:
First I had to take a couple Garage saleing ( Twist my am why dontcha !!!:lmao:)
Then I had to take 2 more to KMart and Dairy Queen ( Oh the excrutiating agony:rotfl:)
And then I had to go to a Cook Out .. Can you imagine expecting anyone to do these things even if they are being paid !!!!:lmao::lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:
To top it all The BBQ was for another consumers birthday and his sister was in town for it and she turned out to be the wife of a young man who we were very closeto before he moved !! I rank this a VERY GOOD DAY!!:banana::banana:
Good Evening Fockers!
Wow, it's quiet around here with Janet, CE and Jo gone. :lmao: J/K!
Had a busy weekend! We did some furniture shopping and found a lovely kitchen table, new kitchen light/fan, a pendant light for over the sink, a new granite sink, faucet and a new microwave/vent. The only thing we didn't get were the drawer pulls. Whew! :faint:
This whole renovation thing gives me a stomach ache every time I think about it!
Good thing Disney is only a hop, skip and a jump away! I'm READY, READY, READY! :banana:
Have a great week all! :flower3:
Weekend Update!
CEL BEL has moved. She probably won’t have the internet up and running for a while.
JO said the leavers disco was fun. Ells dumped her boyfriend just before the fun. Both of the girls have gotten rewards for being good people and students. Tell them both that I said congratulations!
Her mum and dad are having minor surgeries. I wish them both quick healing.
V got back to the farm. Her parents had an open house. Her cousin from Miami was in town. I'm glad you had fun. I hope you had a nice visit with your cous'.
T is thinking about getting a tattoo of Waldo for Waldo. She went shopping for the new kitchen. I love shopping for a remodel. :love:
Speaking of tats:
Dogs009.jpg
That's my largest one. It is a gargoyle located on my upper right arm and shoulder. I don't think I've ever shared this with any of you.
CE had a date night. Then she had a rough Saturday. They left Sunday and she will not be back until next Monday.
KAT is trying to get ready for AC. The trip has become a mess due to other people dropping out. She has her own aisle at WoD. Adult apparel and accessories. I hope you have a good time at AC. Swimming and relaxing sounds great!
DEB had wine with no kids. She was sad because she couldn’t reach Chi. DH is still trying to make up his mind about the new job.:hug::hug:
ROSIE did some shopping. She has a new Super Walmart in town now!!! Sunday was spent at garage sales, K-Mart, DQ, and a cook out with a friend of a friend. I’m glad you finally had an awesome day!!!
LL went school and croc shopping. I hope you get some good deals.
MO had some vehicle issues. She is getting shots in the other foot. She has decided to do WDW at Thanksgiving. :woohoo: on WDW! Are you going to have to get surgery on the other foot?
Rednecks claim that shotguns and in-laws are a lot alike cause anytime we get around one we just want to shoot it.
My weekend was busy, busy, busy.
Here's a preview of the patio.
Dogs010.jpg
That's the nephew, Jake, on the ground. Doug is assuming his usual stance, standing, doing nothing. :rotfl2: Just kidding. He was handing Jake the blocks off of the back of the truck. It is almost done. Some trimming needs completed and Doug and I will finish the steps. Then I'll show you the pics. Of course the water feature is on hold, as well as the hot tub until I find out what is happening at work.
That was Friday. I did some major weed pullin' and spraying.
Saturday we went to see HP. It was OK. Kind of a stepping stone for what is coming actually. It wasn't quite as thrilling as some of the other movies. Then we went to eat at Pepe's. YUM! I had 2 huge margaritas because Doug didn't want to drink. When Doug looked at the bill, they had forgotten to charge us for one of the margaritas. I knew it was an accident so I was honest and told them. I always think of karma at times like that. If Doug hadn't told me, no harm no foul. But he told me. I crashed at 7PM for about an hour. I don't know if it was the drinks or me just being tired. :confused3
Sunday was pretty fruitful. I didn't get to bed until 4:30AM the night before. (Computer work, TRs, itinerary, etc.) I was up at noon. :eek: I know that's what you are thinking. Remember I'm a vampire.
I cooked some 'breakfast', got some laundry going, got myself dressed and was out to the barn by 1:30PM.
I filled up my lawn sprayer with the neccessary bug control for the trees and flowers. Then it started to look like rain. :headache: So I put everything back in the barn and worked on the garage. I'm trying to fill and cover some holes that were left by the new door install. The insulating foam needed to cure so I cleaned the garage a bit.
Meanwhile I was still doing the laundry.
It never did rain. Just a sprinkle here and there. So I drug all my stuff back out and started destroying insects.
The next project was to spray the yard with weed control. Then you have to clean all the equipment up. When I was done it was 5:30PM.
I asked Doug, who had been piddling around all day to go get some pizza. (Don't get me wrong. He started to pour concrete for the pad that the hot tub will sit on. 'Started' being the key word. He also helped me with a couple of small items. Very small. He did move the truck out of the back yard. All this since he got up at, um,.......9AM. :rotfl2: Bravo Dude! I can do more in 15 minutes than he does all day.:rolleyes:) While he was gone to get the pizza, I pulled more weeds. I'm tired but look at the time. Still going. I work the next 3 nights. So you'll be seeing me around. Here's some random pics:
To top it all The BBQ was for another consumers birthday and his sister was in town for it and she turned out to be the wife of a young man who we were very closeto before he moved !! I rank this a VERY GOOD DAY!!:banana::banana:
Rosie you must have the best job ever. Wish I could get paid to go yard saleing!
Good Evening Fockers!
Wow, it's quiet around here with Janet, CE and Jo gone. :lmao: J/K!
Had a busy weekend! We did some furniture shopping and found a lovely kitchen table, new kitchen light/fan, a pendant light for over the sink, a new granite sink, faucet and a new microwave/vent. The only thing we didn't get were the drawer pulls. Whew! :faint:
I :love: Furniture shopping. Almost as much as I :love: having money in the bank. :laughing:
DH decided to take the new job. I finangled the budget to make it work with his pay cut. Even though he may get bonuses I didn't want to count on those to pay our bills. He spent all night worrying about telling his current employer and didn't sleep well. They have been good to him but he is still working under a contract agreement. Meaning he is not a fulltime employer to them. He has no benefits and no flexibility. But he still didn't want to burn any bridges just in case something didn't work out.
So he goes in and talks to his boss and he said he really wanted him to stay and offered him 3 work at home days a month, fulltime employee with full benefits, and a big bonus at the end of the year :yay: :yay: :yay:
So now he doesn't know what to do but his choices are getting better.
Like I said before I had a very productive weekend cleaning the house. While cleaning Chi's room I found some doodling of hers. I think she has her first crush :eek:
Now I miss them more but I know they are having fun at the beach with their dad.
