Thank you all sooooooo much for the birthday wishes!!!

So of course I took my camera with me yesterday and tried to remember to take pics!

At midnight when my birthday officially began KC was doing the laundry but he came home with a really nice sappy card and this (which i put on my table runner to be all artsy).

KC worked on my birthday but I had plans anyway. I got up and dressed to meet Pants for some lunch and city wandering. I got a new shirt for the day and was excited to wear it, I really love it. BUT I figured i'll prob forget to be in the pics since I usually take 'em so I tried to get a pic in the mirror in the house of the outfit.

Yea nice try silly....let's try again with no flash and a smile...

I took the train to the city and got off at 42nd street to meet Pants. He was early so I took some pics.

The view up the block.

This is where we had lunch.
2238158800070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

It was a nice lunch. We sat and chatted for a while. We both got chicken and shrimp scampi w/ rice. It hit the spot.

Then we wandered towards downtown. I wanted to pick up a book that was coming out that day as a gift to myself. As luck would have it my Uncle sent me a gift card for $25 so i decided to use it on my book. Borders, however, did not have it!

So we hopped on a train and went to Union Square and went to Barnes and Nobles and found it there. I also found something else I really wanted but didn't wanna spend $15 on...but on a gift card on my birthday....

2958018830070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

It's a Vera Bradley book cover! I have been wanting one so my books don't get mauled in my purses. I love it!

So we sat in B&N for a while then headed to the restaurant, Max Brenner (.com). They worked out with us a time to come back. So we waited for people to come and got seated around 8pm.

It was a nice spot and of course I took some pics. It's a place that specializes in chocolates. Heaven.

I tell KC to take a pic with me. I say to him "One nice one then a silly one" because he always acts silly in pics and we hardly have any normal pics of us.

This was the "nice" one....
2980997500070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

He did it on purpose and didn't tell me, neither did Pants who was taking the pic.

the "silly one", fitting don't you think?
2391486320070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

After I got mad and put the camera away he apologized and we tried again.
2331739520070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

We ended up being 7 people and 2 late comers. Several people just didn't show. I was unthrilled. Next year I refuse to plan my own party. Nuff said.

Then the food came and I didn't care.

Banana Split Waffles. Ice cream, warm chocolate sauce, fruit. hazelnut pieces.
2503673820070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

Holy crow was this good!!!!!!!

We sat until around 10pm there and then said good bye to most people and a few of us went to a bar nearby that you drink free at on your birthday!

2860187910070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

One drink and one shot at a time is the rule. I had a malibu bay breeze, a bay breeze and 2 shots called a "redheaded s!ut" (peach schnapps, jagermiester and cranberry juice). I was feeling F-I-N-E.

My last shot of the night.
2605841290070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

We left around midnight or so and hopped the train home. I was feeling pretty good! So good I didn't notice the blisters on my feet till I got home! LOL.

But it was a decent birthday over all!

Today I am relaxing and recovering.

I got a great phone call this morning tho....
I start work on TUESDAY!!!!:yay:

I have to go tomorrow to try and fix the pants situation tho so I can go to work with my whole "costume" on. But I'm excited and now have to make sure to get everything done this week so I can start work!

Sorry to have gone on and on. Happy Wed! :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: To you all!!!

Ok - I should have said earlier that DH's car was broken into last night and the window was smashed and the only things taken were a pain of sunglasses and his iphone charger. :confused3 They left everything else... including a checkbook.

Well that's good, but it still stinks:hug:

:hug:Things are getting (or are already) bad. Our officially recorded unemployment is 11%.

There were some grumpy people at Disney.

Glad you didn't let them ruin your trip:thumbsup2

I should have never friended the two "friends" on FB. I haven't seen them in ages and I don't want to. now, there's a group of 4 that are e-mailing (and including me) trying to get a lunch date together. :headache: I don't want to say, "Hey, there's a reason you're in my past and I want you to stay there," but I just don't know what to do. I hate to be ugly, but I'd rather spend my time focusing on the friends I have in my life now, not girls who I have nothing common with and I haven't seen in over 12 years. :confused3

 I think very hard before I approve friends for just this reason!

I don't know when I'll make it over, Janet. Sorry!

YEAH, so what's with this "OMGretards" person? What an offensive screenname.

That's why, like Dawn I just kind of ignored it too!

Oh, and Dawn, I told you just ignore them.

I agree with Mel on this one!:thumbsup2

Oh wait! It RAINED!!!

Oh Good.!

Yay summer.

Gee, do I detect a note of sarcasm here:rolleyes1:lmao:

Well apparently chocolate spread works :rotfl2: I went and had a look this morning and the traps were empty but David had found and disposed of him already

:thumbsup2

I remember my first day on the job in CT when 2 teens asked me where to get a grinder and I blushed and stammered that I had no idea! (it was a week later when I realized they meant a sub)

:rotfl2:

I think I am going to cry. My manager just told me he turned in his two week resignation.

Change is never easy. I'm sorry:hug:

Seven Lies You Tell Yourself About Facebook]

:lmao:

You know me, I clicked on the link to see if it was a real person and it was a site (with the same name) with Jacka$$ type videos. He's probably just posting on all the boards to get people over to his site.
:sad2:

BTW- You're lucky you didn't catch a fat lady spreading chocolately spread on those traps.

:lmao:

Ya'll are really cracking me up this morning. Thanks! I need it cause I'm not feeling well.

Hope you're feeling better:hug:

Well... Nothing much going on here. It's 65 and raining (again) and D is feeling well enough that he just left for his meeting. The boys have dentist appointments in the afternoon (I made the appointment in December, so I wasn't TRYING to make the first day of vacation not so much fun. :rotfl:)

Hope the weather got better for you!

I posted this on FB but I'm off tonight to watch firemen play with their hoses, yep seriously I am, they're going to be showing us their water hoses It's a Guide trip so nothing naughty about it!!!!

Yeah, sure it is Jo. You're really going to strip club aren't you:rolleyes1

Not a good week. DH was subpeonad to testify in court.

Oh no...what for???

I got a great phone call this morning tho....
I start work on TUESDAY!!!!

:yay:

I have logged on no less than 5 times today, read, hit quote, hit reply started typing and then get called into meetings:mad: Don't these people know I have to check in with the Fockers:sad2:

Sounds like mostly a good day for everyone. Not much going on here now. I have 6 differenct meetings today, but luckily they were all short. I haven't gone to lunch yet, and at this point I'm going to bother. I leave to go home in 45 minutes:rolleyes:

Tonight Jim and Jimmy will go the library after camp, so it will be quick and easy for dinner. Probably grilled cheese or TV dinners.

Other than that not much planned. Hope everyone has a great evening.:goodvibes

Oh no...what for???
It's a federal indictment against his former employer. I'm not sure I am at liberty to discuss the details. Just know this may be a stressful summer for us. I think I am more upset than he is though so that is a good sign.

 I'm glad you say y'all too. Mel makes fun of me. But then she says things like "grind-uh". :lmao:
I bet she also doesn't think get and fit rhyme. She probably also doesn't eat grits or know how to make sweet tea. :rotfl2:

Yikes! :scared1:

Love quick and easy dinners.

I am hoping that when dh gets home, he will take the kids to the pool so I can have some quiet time.

Going to post some pics on fb now.

Yuck! At least he doens't seem too upset!

Huh?:rolleyes1

Love quick and easy dinners.

I made it even easier. We ordered Chinese food that they will pick up on thier way home from the library!:thumbsup2

Oh, dear - but I saw your later post and I do think it's good that he's not as worried as you are.

So of course I took my camera with me yesterday and tried to remember to take pics!

Kate - What the heck is up with your Governor:confused3:laughing:

:rotfl: Seriously...

************************************************
Look ma, no cavities! So, that was good. :thumbsup2 We then went to Target to get some new toothbrushes - they recommended the spin brushes, since I let the kids brush their own teeth.

For dinner, I made a recipe that I'd been wanting to try for a while - chicken in lettuce cups, with edamame (my daddy is a soybean farmer, so I figure I'm doing my part...:rotfl:) It was really yummy, but too exotic for the kids. Sigh. If anyone wants the recipe, let me know! It's a pretty easy one, and they only picked out all the beans, so the sauce wasn't too much for them or anything like that.

And, it turns out my dates were wrong - Dad had his second chemo treatment yesterday. They decided to do all three medicines in one day, rather than doing it over two days as they did the first time. He didn't sleep again last night, but hasn't gotten ill or anything, so I guess that's good. He has to go in every day this week for white blood cell booster shots and some prednisone, but he didn't have to be there for hours again today, which is better. I hope it doesn't make him sicker to do them all at once. :confused3

D seems better today, though maybe not "well" yet - and he's taken the kids outside after dinner. I'm enjoying the quiet!

Glad it seems to be going okay so far:hug:

So, I had to laugh - I was going through the "photos of CE" on FB, because I couldn't remember who'd tagged me in what, if that makes any sense, and one of my bridesmaids had this one.

Yep, there's the butt bow. ;)

Speaking of, I don't think I've shared the ridiculousness of my aunt, my dad's sister. :sad2:

When my cousin was up a couple of weeks ago, we briefly discussed trying to get to my parents' house at the same time this summer. She and her parents always came to my folks' once in the summer and over Christmas when she was growing up, mostly because my grandparents lived right across the street from us. Anyway, she loves being there, too, but it was a passing thought.

She must have said something to her mom, who lives in TX. (It's her dad that is my dad's brother...) Her mom e-mailed me a bit later, saying she wished we could all meet up in IL, but that my uncle, who is a professor at Texas A & M, would have to be back in school when I'd be there after BIL's wedding.

OK, no big deal.

Now in jumps my dad's sister - wanting us to ALL get together that week after my BIL's wedding at my parents'. And she sent a mass e-mail including HER son and his 3 kids, more or less inviting them to come, too, wondering if I could change my dates, wondering if she could fly into Chicago and have me drive her the 3 hours back and forth to my parents' house... And she said IN THE MESSAGE that she knew it was a treatment week for Dad.

She did not send the message to my mom. She's more or less invited 11 people to my parents' house without checking with my mom and dad.

I wrote right back, saying that I couldn't change when I was there, due to the wedding. I reminded her that her other brother had already said he couldn't come then. I told her (she honestly might not have known this) that my parents are invited to my BIL's wedding and so they would not even be home that weekend, as they'll be in Chicago with us. I said I could bring her to my parents' from Chicago, but couldn't take her back, because it's out of my way when I drive home from their house - I need to angle across OH rather than drive 3 hours straight north to Chicago and then come back east...

And then I quite firmly said that I thought it was a horrible idea for all of us to be there when my dad has a treatment. I am feeling bad about bringing energetic and demanding kids myself - they don't need more people in the house. Even if he's not getting ill, he's getting tired, and there's not room for everyone, anyway. If I could go any other time, I would, etc., etc.

So, anyway, I told my mom I'd tried to head her off. Mom and Dad were both VERY grateful. Then yesterday my aunt sent another e-mail (this time to Mom and Dad, too - but the rest of us as well) saying, "Well, it might not work out for ALL of us, but I'll still see what I can do." :headache:

My mom said to me last night, "At least you tried." She sounded very weary and resigned. Dad himself said, "I'd love to see everyone, but not all at once, and not then."

I have more work to do.

And I may or may not have called my aunt a few nasty names out loud to D when I read her message yesterday... :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Sorry, just needed to vent that out. The thing is, she's not a purposely bad person, she's just always so sure everyone can't wait to see her. But, she's the one - I know I've talked about her before - who tells D what it's like to travel, tells me what lazy people office workers are (when I was at the time working in an office), she shows up at my mom's and throws parties for her old friends, saying she'll do all the work, but, well... And yes, she's 69 years old and acting this way. :sad2:

Gah.

Thank you all sooooooo much for the birthday wishes!!!

Wow--what a nice birthday!

And I LOVE the book cover and the Kimberly Kaye book---I've read most all of the dead end dating books! Let me know any new authors you are reading---we seem to have similar tastes and we both are book addicts!

And <<hint hint>>folks..........My birthday is coming up <<well, in January!>>and I would like a book cover like Kats!!

Thanks.

Speaking of, I don't think I've shared the ridiculousness of my aunt, my dad's sister. :sad2:

.
:sad2: Stand up for your folks---my mom has a hard time saying NO to folks wanting to come and stay for the weekend. I told her just because she has a big house does not mean she wants to spend her days off entertaining long lost (and best forgotten!) relatives!

Aww! very cute. The butt bow reminds me of a dress i bought at the thrift store once. Three big baby blue bows down the back. Of course your doesnt look nearly as wierd.

Thanks.

Speaking of, I don't think I've shared the ridiculousness of my aunt, my dad's sister. :sad2:

 Im sorry. has your mom or dad said anything back to them about what they want? It sounds so rude, but of course with only the best intentions.

This wont be me for quite a while.:happytv: Instead this is me on HULU:surfweb: Unfortunately i cant do homework online while watching hulu. :confused3 What is a girl to do?

So far I've only posted pics of dd's ballet recital on FB. Here is a mini TR from our Dis trip.

We decided to add a night to our stay at the last minute, so we added 1 night at ASMu and did the DDlx plan. Saturday night we ate at Wolfgang Puck Cafe (first time) and really liked it. Our waitress was GREAT!

Here is something interesting - our APs expired in May, so we bought our APs at DTD and while paying for the passes someone came up to us and offered to sell us a Disney Gift card that had $500 on it, for $350. Said that he lost his wallet and needed money to get home. There was a lady with him. We figured it was a scam, but not sure because we could have verified the amount on the card right there with the CM. We couldn't figure out how he happened to have the gift card on him and it wasn't in the lost wallet or why the lady with him had no wallet/money/credit cards. When we walked away, they did go up to the window to talk to the CM, so who knows if their story was real or not.

Sunday morning we got up really early to check in at BCV and get over to SWW at DHS. DHS was crowded and we stood in a lot of lines to meet people. Dh and ds met 2 of the star wars stars. We also ate at Hollywood & Vine at dd's request.

guyswithJayLagaia.jpg

This one was taken on Friday.

The kids had money (from the grands) to spend. This is what baby girl chose.

Yoda.jpg

We had everything sent to the front of the park so we didn't have to carry it and she kept telling me that she missed Yoda and wanted to go see him.

We stopped for a break and dd didn't want ds in her way.
EhittingG.jpg

For dinner, we ate at Le Cellier.

Our room at BCV had a small view of Epcot and we could see the fireworks.

More to come....

Speaking of, I don't think I've shared the ridiculousness of my aunt, my dad's sister. :sad2:

When my sister was going through chemo, we were told it was not a good idea to have a lot of people around her b/c if she got sick while going through the chemo it would not be good b/c of her immune system.

If she persists, tell her that. I wouldn't want all those people around, either. All the treatments & meds have to be wearing him down and he isn't feeling well.

I signed the kids up for the Albatross Pirate cruise. Neither one of them wanted to do it. I told them, too bad. I thought they would like it and that they would especially like doing something without us - so they would feel like they were big kids. NOPE! Baby Girl told me that she is a baby and only wanted to be with me. I tried to convince her by being excited and saying how she was going to get to be a pirate for the day and go on a treasure hunt. She said, "I like pirates. I don't want to be a pirate."

They didn't cry or complain about going as we walked to the boat, but I knew dd still didn't want to go.

When we picked them up, they were so excited and said they had a great time.

Here they are after their pirate adventure.

Epirate.jpg

Gpirate.jpg

We spent a lot of time at the pool this trip. One day, we didn't even go to MK until 4pm.
We ate at CRT for breakfast. We were disappointed. I've read the reviews that it isn't that great, but I wanted it for the character experience. We felt like we were really rushed with each of the princesses. The photographer rushed us, too. Our pic is terrible. Mr Diz complained about the cost and said it was overpriced. I kept reminding him we were paying for the experience, not the food.

Here are some more pics from the trip.

Loved the pix of Aurora!!She was at our Dis Meet in May!!!!:banana:Had a busy but productive day!! :thumbsup2 Worked on scheduling with my boss , went to a case review and then had a staff meeting to run followed by a meeting with the consumers at which my boss and I tag teamed together laying down the law !!:laughing:We got our point across and hopefully the petty squabbes and pantry raiding will end !!:worship:
Now my boss laid it on me that she is organizing a camping trip for some of our people and she has volunteered me to go !!! Thanks :rotfl: But she is such a great BOSSI can't say NO!!!
