Team Five Intros/Bios/Finding a name!

Woohoo!

We have a name! Now to kick some butt!

Love our name (I feel like watching Hercules - I may just put that in to watch while I treadmill) TEAM 5 IS ROCKING - we even have a theme song. I wonder if there's a way to have the song play withour signatures, or data, or updates...way too complicated for me but there seem to quite a few that can make 'magic' on these threads.:worship:

FRIDAY IS ALMOST HERE! - LET THE GAMES BEGIN!:cheer2:

notice at the bottom I could get rid of the white background, but I couldnt at the top!!

anyway, I was just fooling around - what do ya think?

Never mind, I'll go back to the drawing board...

I have to fess up - I had dd load it in the program, I told her not to change the size!! LOL, she thought it needed to be bigger!!!

My first race - 5K (4/2007) was a John Bingham Penquin Race in Columbus, OH. He spoke at the Expo - I was very impressed and very motivated especially never having done anything like this before. He's awesome to hear as is his wife Coach Jenny. Unfortunately, cannot do Columbus this year (would have considered the half) due a wedding in Allentown, PA to attend.

I thought to add the tag

staying on track"

I gave up!

Hey Missy,
Have you done Columbus Half before? Is it a good (aka: flat :) course? I was thinking of maybe doing it. Thanks!
Lara

Hi Lara...I have not done the half as last was the beginning of all this running stuff. However, DH (dennyha) did the half. I believe it is a fairly flat course. He would like to do it again - and I would do this half (what am I saying) - because it was flat. I had a good time on the 5K (for me - 37 mins) with it being my first AND it was cold. However, we just can't this year. I understand there is a half in Toledo that weekend as well. DS (UTguitarist27) and DD go to UT. We would have like to do that one with them (DD's first) possibly. Toledo is quite flat - however it gets pretty windy I hear (and cold).

I'm sure DH (dennyha) will be glad to share the details of Columbus with you.

HOLY COW! I might have to do the Toledo half--I grew up about 50 miles from Toledo. It is indeed very flat, but yes very cold. My hometown was about 20 miles from the Michigan and Indiana borders. GO ROCKETS! :)

Really? "IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL" How cool! I see Western PA with your name? I was born in Charleroi, PA - my parents grew up in Belle Vernon, PA

Another former Ohioan here - grew up on the shores of Lake Erie but moved away from the snow asap!

Thanks for giving it a go...that's a cool tag line, too. You know - when January 09 comes in closer - we should probably take all this creative energy to the next level to be identified as Herc's Heroes (sandles and gold leaf headbands maybe) at the Pop Party Pix.

Get out! We're just a short jaunt down Route 70! I'm kind of close to Mt Pleasant which you get to from the New Stanton exit! I did 2 of my physician assistant rotations in Charleroi! And we go to the Lowe's in Belle Vernon. Funny. I went from exciting NW Ohio to exciting western PA! Thanks for making the connection!

Ditto...don't miss the snow at all...we just moved here (SC) end of August (but left the kids in OH at UT - could say building character but probably more like building snowmen)

Wow...DD does not get how we (DH and DS, too) can chat on these boards losing all sight of time. It's these little cool things.

I grew up about 20 miles west of Cleveland. NOT in the snow belt, but very familiar with those three dreaded words: "lake effect snow". Now I'm happy to maybe see snow once a year. If we want snow, we drive to the mountains!

Hey Folks,

Mike from Team 1 here. I just wanted to chime in and chat with all the fellow former-Ohioans.

I grew up about 30 miles south of Cleveland (Wadsworth) and DW grew up in Cleveland. We met at the University of Toledo and both graduated in 1990. Good times!

We are now in Virginia.

We were back home at my parents over Christmas and I didn't see the sun the whole time. I had forgotten how gloomy it is there for about 10 months of the year!

Good luck Hercs!

Hi Matt! :thumbsup2

OK Team, I'm running my longest run I've ever done tomorrow for my first half marathon training - 7 miles. I've run 10Ks numerous times now, but something about running that unknown extra mile is scaring me! Wish me luck! I guess I'm glad it is on the first day of our logging in! :lmao:

Oh, how are we going to post our miles? Any particular kind of format? :confused3

Go Herc's! :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

Shan -

How exciting! My only bummer about completing my first marathon is that I'll never again have that thrill of doing "my longest run ever". (And no, I'm not considering and ultra!)

Whenever I was upping my mileage I would think "every step I take is one more than I've ever taken before" and it was really rewarding. You have been training hard and you will do GREAT!

Go team!
Renee
