5 pages of Hercules!!

http://www.disneyclips.com/imagesnewb/hercules.html

I could go for Hercules' Heroes and a picture of him in my siggie!

I tried making a picture for a Hercules team but I couldn't make it work like I wanted. All I am using a paint program and its very limited in what it can do, not to mention I am limited in what I can do with computers. I'm going make a smaller version of the Epcot picture so it can fit in a sig and I'll keep trying to work with Hercules.

Ok, I found a Hercules picture that worked pretty well. I email that picture along with a smaller version of the epcot picture to Sandy321 for her to post.

OK, I'm too busy to type it up again so I'm pasting my bio from the other WISH thread. :upsidedow

Oh, and I like Herc's Heroes! :thumbsup2

Happy training team 5! :cheer2:

Hi! I'm Shannon (Shan). I'm 36 and a SAHM to two girls ages 7 and 9. I started running last April 2007. I had been a walker, but I got inspired when I saw my DH (Len) finish his first half marathon last year at the ING Georgia Half Marathon late March 2007. He had a health scare prior and took up running and had only completed one race before the half - Disney's 5K Family Fun Run in January 2007. After seeing all the runners that weekend, he immediately came home and signed up for the ING. I was very proud of him!

I started running using The Beginning Runner's Handbook: The Proven 13-Week Walk-Run Program and it worked! I was now running! My first race was Disney's Race for the Taste 10K October 2007 and shortly after my local Gobble Jog 10K on Thanksgiving 2007. I was bitten by the bug!

This year DH and I have several races planned - my first half the ING Georgia Half Marathon late March 2008, the Peachtree Road Race 10K July 4th, 2008 and finally the WDW Half Marathon in January 2009! I can't wait!

Here's a few pics. The first is DH and I at Race for the Taste, the second is us partying in Vegas and the third my girls.

Looking forward to reading everyone's bios! Cheers!

Love the bios!!

I see definate possibilities - I know on the mac I have a program that you can layer stuff, but I have to wait till dh isnt using it for work!!

I'd like to work with this one instead of Disney's - something like WISH team's (I had thought of Party Panda's but I'm thinking Dave would like it more to the whole Team!!) hmmm WISH's Hercules' Heros... or I dunno Disney's does sound right!! lol

and then our names, but to keep it small like Stephen did, names wont work - but there are lots of Hercule's out there!!

and others!!

Yeah I like the "Wish's Hercules' Heroes" idea. I was going to take out the "Disney's" but with my simple program it wouldn't work. I also saw that I spelled "Heroes" wrong. If we decide to go with that Herc picture I'll revise it but for now everyone gets the idea. Thanks for being my picture relay Sandy.

Hello, Team 5!

I went to work today (end of the quarter--too much to do to stay home) and came home and made dinner for DH because he has class tonight (I made that great-looking soup on the cover of this month's Cooking Light--tasted great!). However, my stomach is not great yet and I've already had to take more medicine. So, I've decided to spend tonight rehydrading from my stomach thingie and I'll hit the gym tomorrow (after all, dinner is already made for tomorrow!).

I've never seen Hercules. :sad2: But I'm fine with it as our team name if that's the vote--he's a good guy, right?

I loved reading through the bios here. Sandy, if you would like to PM the missing, that would be great.

Once we get everyone to check in, we can start gearing up for Friday! Woohoo!

Thanks for stopping by the thread, everyone. I'm so looking forward to this!

I'm going to be extremely helpful on the naming front;) I like either the Pluto or the Herc's Heroes name. I also kind of liked the EPCOT.

My name is Lynne and I'm a 34 yo professional student. Seriously though I'm a 4th year medical student and I graduate from my last school ever in June. I'm then immediately moving to Hawaii to start my three year residency in Pediatrics so the Minnie 15 K and the FL 70.3 triathlon will be my last Disneyworld events for a while. I'm primarily a triathlete who does some running. My race distances have varied from the sprint distance 800 m swim/ 20 K bike/ 5 k run to Ironman 2.4 mi swim/ 112 mi bike/ 26.2 mi run in the past but will not be doing another full Ironman until at least 2009 and likely 2010. My distance pedigree includes 5 Ironmans, 7 HIMs, 4 Marathons including 2 Goofy, and 7 half marys.

Tentative race schedule for this year:
St Anthony's Olympic distance Triathlon- April St Petersburg FL
Women Run the World 15 K- May
FL 70.3 triathlon- May WDW
Mountainman Xterra Triathlon- Aug Oahu
Waikiki Roughwater Swim- Sept
Maui Half Marathon- Sept
Xterra World Champs- Oct Maui
Honolulu Marathon- Dec

Plus I'll jump into various other running and triathlon races as the opportunity arises. Good luck everyone and keep logging the time:)

Ok team. I have been fiddling around with the hercules picture from above and I figured out a way to take out the "Disney's". I can also add in whatever we want to where "Disney's" used to be or we can just leave it as "Hercules' Heroes" (Spelled correctly this time). Ill try to add in an apostrophe but the space after Hercules is a little tight. Let me know what the team wants and ill send it to Sandy to post.

Ms Duck Maybe it should be a requirement?? (ok j/k) I posted in another thread about using the Hecule's Heros, and 2 teammates from Team 2 chimed in to note that it was their team that suggested it, and dont have a problem if we use it - Aldisnygrl posted it was her suggestion, and she would be honored if we snagged it! (they adopted the name of Buzz something to include "TO INFINITEY AND BEYOND" )

so we need to come up with a slogan from Hercules, something Olympic I would say - I'll make sure dh works on this too!!! Of course I'll have to make him interrupt his work, or ask him to have his computer geeks to brainstorm as well!! *G

Stephen Thanks for taking on the Graphics Cooridinator position!! :thumbsup2

I actually worked today, and will work tomorrow - why did I say I like subbing in 8th grade again??? :sad2: Real ROUGH day today!! :faint:

OK, going to round up some missing teammates!!

NEWBIE PSA - If you click on the number... (easier said then done I hope I dont confuse you - bare with me) hmmmm lets see ok ... on the board - there is a title to the thread - like example "Team 5 Intros/Bios/Findinag a name! - next to that there are 3 columns - see the one that says "POSTS ours may say 31 or 32 - that tells you how many posts a thread has??

CLICK ON THAT NUMBER and a seperate box pops up on your computer, it will list everyone that has posted to that thread, and how many times the person has posted to the thread!!

Just thought I"d pass that tidbit along - it comes in handy when I need to find missing teammates - so I know Sandy/Stephen ie UTGuitarist/Ms. MightyDuck/Lenshanem/cdn_gal_eeyroe/Mom of CKJ/MissyHa/Larab/xterratri have all posted to this thread!!

:wizard:

I have THNDRMATT, MARSUZCOS and COHOE that are listed on our team that have not posted to this thread - so I'll make sure and send a PM so we can be a go on the team name,

we also need a team slogan, slip into other team threads to see their slogans to get an idea!! (IF needs be!)

Okay, you've talked me into it...I'll get a copy of Hercules! :D I have a collection of Disney films so that will be the latest addition.

Ooh, 8th grade? :worship: I hated subbing middle school. My family knew if I went to the middle school, I would have a bad day. You have my sympathies.

<--- teaches high school, and NOT freshmen!

Stephen, thank you for working on our logo! Woohoo!

In "Hercules," one of the major songs is called "Go The Distance." If this isn't a match made in heaven, I don't know what is. So maybe a slogan could be "Hercules' Heroes: Going the Distance." or something like that. Another part of the movie is that Phil (Herc's trainer) wants to train a hero so great that the gods paint a picture of the hero in the stars, so maybe something to do with finding our place among the stars. Just throughing ideas out there. Another theme in Hercules is that Hercules used to be a god but was turned mortal while still keeping godlike strength. Hopefully this will jump start ideas.

Stephen, excellent suggestions!!

Duckie - I get to do 8th grade again tomorrow!! Good thing, school is out at 2:10 - so it starts at 7am - they dont wake up till around ten!! :rotfl: But I still like them much better than the Kindergarten!! (they cry when they get a sub!! Its really hard on my ego to have kids cry!! unless they are 8 - no never mind!! lol)

Holy cow! I give you so much credit--I know how hard it is to be a sub at that age group, and you are a person to be admired! I, too, count on my kids sleeping until 10 am! :rotfl: The morning classes are so much more sedate!

I spent a couple weeks subbing preschool multiply-handicapped at one point, and the first day they cried! By the last day, I had kids all over me--I was teaching with one on my lap, one hanging on my arm, and one around my neck! (I also made a kindergartener cry when my tone was too sharp when I caught him making red paint handprints all over the table, himself, and the floor).

Stephen, I think your ideas for a slogan are wonderful! I'll see if I can get a copy of the movie and watch. :)

Duckie I also did Preschool teaching, and have subbed numerous times with special needs - my boys and dh are Hard of hearing, so I took to sign language - one time I made a dad cry - I saw his deaf son and him and Mickie D's and he started signing while dad was ordering, I signed back (even teachers like hamburgers, and this is my dd!!) the dad turned and realized his son was communicating with a "stranger" - it was a beautiful moment!!

oh and did you see this post?!!

Captain/ Co-Captain Tracking

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm stepping in to stir things up even more...I already mentioned this to Dave and Lily. I've been working on a spreadsheet at Google Docs that everyone can view. If given permission as a collaborator, one can edit the document.

Please have a look (http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...nAzm4ETNTavrTg) and let me know if I should proceed.

My thought was that captains could have acces to update info weekly OR monthly OR whichever we we decide to go. I would also be more than happy to make updates.

I don't want to make things more difficult....

Thanks.

Its in the lastest captain name roster thread....

I saw that--woohoo! A place to keep track!

Okay, i need to get to the gym. The treadmill awaits! Here's hoping my stomach can take it!
