Today I'm resting and trying to mentally prepare myself for my first ever 10 miler tomorrow. Unfortunately, it is supposed to be COLD. :eek:
 
good job on logging all the time and miles, everybody! today i did the 4 mile WATP w/ Leslie so about 50 minutes I think. I'm just glad I did SOMETHING because I mad at my boss. :headache:
 
I did 1.5 miles in 18 minutes today, then my hip started to bother me. Anyone else here have hip problems? I'd love any tips/help.

Can I get any time for all the shoveling I do at work? That'd be great... I spend about 45 minutes just shoveling ice.

Hi Hope(a) I think you can get credit for the shoveling. Not miles but minutes.

4 ugly miles in 45:50 for me today. Oh well, at least I got it done! It was really windy out and also apparently my body has forgotten that it used to like running hills.... ;)

If that's true, then I have 225 minutes in so far for this week with all the shoveling I've done. I can't wait till my manager returns from vacation so I can sleep in and get on the tredmill.

Yes dear, snow shoveling is hard work and can be counted. You are probably sore from that since you throw the snow from the hip.

Please don't tell anyone but I have a secret exercise for the hips. I do a motion like I had a hula hoop. Work up to a hundred circles each each direction. When I walk the motion comes from the hips and butt so that area has to stay loose.

Has everyone had a good month? Your friendly Panda is doing better and can start contributing miles to his team now. I know that y'all have been concerned that I had to much time on my hands.

Starting next month, which is in a few days we are going to have a new thread about either adding something or subtracting something form our lifestyle plan. Everyone can post from all the teams and maybe each of us can get ideas of what we could change ourselves. It will also give us a group thread to keep up with the fact that we are all part of the same larger team.

Sweet! Nice to have that count. It probably is my problem since I have to dig it out of the tub then heave it into my cases. The cases are to my mid-chest. So, it's a bit of a reach for me. Gets my blood going at 7 am.

I'll have to try the little exercise, so hopefully it stays loose. Thank you!
 
Hello, Herc's Heroes!

Sorry I've been MIA. My dental appt. took 3 hours on Monday, and my face was still numb when I went to bed at 10. Tuesday, my face really hurt, and by the afternoon, a bruise had formed on my cheek. So I've felt yucky. i didn't feel up to XT on Tuesday and tonight I did tempo training for 35 minutes--only 1.89 miles. But I had done my full 7.5 miles on Saturday, so that's something. I have to help with the school play tomorrow night and Saturday, but I'll try to squeeze in the time in between.

Everyone here has done such a great job! Woohoo, heroes!

I ran my first 10 miler yesterday! I ran it at a 10:56 average pace - well within my goal for my first half next March! :woohoo:

I can add another 45 minutes of shoveling to my totals. They predicted a snow storm and Lent, so I'm beat from my day. I'm so glad my manager is back tomorrow.
 
It is so stinkin' cold here. Was in the teens this morning when I had time to work out. So I stayed in and did 3 miles on the Gazelle, 31 minutes.

Looks a little high due to the weird reporting week compared to my training week. It's actually kind of a pain to calculate this each week since the format is completely different from my training log. Oh well. Scheduled to do an indoor triathlon race this Sunday but we'll see with the predicted white death.

I can't wait for spring either! I want to get out on the trail and stop having the snow panic of people needing their bread, milk, eggs, and shrimp cocktail for every snow storm predicted.
