TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

I'm Kathy, 47 yo single mom to one ds age 9. He's pretty much my life right now, and is so much fun. I'm an endoscopy nurse, and fell in love with disney when I took ds for his 5th b-day. I found Wish after that trip, and have done many biggest loser challenges, some I've lost, other's I've gained, with other stuff going on in life. I started running last feb with the c25k, and settled into run/walk intervals, with the goal of the princess half in mind. The idea of a half in disney truly is what kept me running through the heat of last summer, and the cold of this winter. I had never run before, but last winter was having a tough time with some depressiong, and the running helped get that under control too. I'm feeling much more focused on getting healthy than I have in a long time, and think I actually have a good chance of making my goal for this challenge.

Pamela- It's actually nice to hear that you don't know what made this time different for you with your weight loss success. It helps keep me from getting discouraged, and thinking I've lost it before and gained it back, what is going to make it different this time. Hope your students behave today.

Off to work now. I did take a walk this morning with a friend, so that was nice. I definitely stay on track better if I've gotten a little exercise in.

I'm so glad to hear that you are anticipating making your goal this challenge. You have stuck with it well!!

Wish I KNEW what clicked this time..... I'd bottle it and sell it! Or write a book about it! The biggest thing is that I was originally "losing it for Disney" (as we all do at times) and then when we got back, I DIDN'T give up!!!

THE ORGANIZED PHOTO FILES ARE RECOVERED! :cool1: As it turns out it had to do with the screwy way that DH has all of our computers linked in a network and how my computer was communicating with the external hard drive. Yeah, I don't understand it either but right as we were going to bed last night he said "let me try one more thing" and all the sudden it was working! I let it run all night and this morning they are all in their nicely organized categories and sort boxes and files and whatever else. I just have to import everything from last year to now and work on them. I am so happy I don't have to do it all over.

WOOOOOOOHOO:yay: One less project to have to worry about again!!

He doesn't like chicken to begin with-- mostly just tolerates it. He just doesn't like the flavor and texture that roasted chicken has. I make it very moist but that doesn't help. The only way I can roast it that he likes involves covering it with bacon and making a heavy gravy with the juices served with real (lots of butter and cream) mashed potatoes. NOT healthy and really it ends up tasting like bacon and the gravy. He is being more receptive now so I may try one in the crock pot and see what he says. If I have some sort of a "sauce" he can put over it that helps.

Well... there is some pot liquor from cooking in the crockpot, but isn't really gravy. It is very tasty though... especially if you use white wine when cooking (last time I made this, I used up some flat champagne I had leftover from Christmas..... VERY yummy!).

We don't make much chicken because DS is allergic to poultry. We do eat pork.... I have reservations about eating it because it is a scavenger animal, but we do like it..... expecially those Hormel marinated tenderloins! Nice substitute for chicken.

pijla: Go ahead and start the thread. It will probably get more responses if you are the OP since people here know you. :) I would love to see what others are planning and it may be a good way for some people to feel accountable to doing their planning. I am still looking for a large metal sign or sheet that is in that craft project I showed you (to magnet your plan to). I haven't found anything cheap yet!

I'll start it after school today. HOnestly, as much as I love that project, I haven't taken the time to try to make it. Maybe I'll have to share it for a summer project. BTW, have you tried Home Depot or Lowe's for a piece of inexpensive sheet metal??

:
Everyone have a great day! I have to go try to watch American Idol on my laptop today since I can't get FOX right now. Stupid contract dispute with Dish network. :headache:

Really?? Shows how much FOX I watch. We have DISH and I haven't even noticed it missing. How long has it been gone??

The trail was bad, I need to email Coach and tell him trees are down that will require a chainsaw to remove. The team always cleans the path one summer day but I think it's going to need to be done sooner rather then later.
We do have the rail trail in the next town over so I might try that. I hope to be more confident by summer to run in the woods only because the path around the pond/lake is mostly in the sun. .

I didn't realize you meant THAT bad! That would be tough. We have a rail trail in the next town over, but I've never tried it. I'm a bit leary of running it alone.... maybe I'll walk it with DH or DD sometime (in broad daylight) before I attempt a solo run there.

I tend to chuck lots of food, I know that's bad, but the kids and DH get on kicks where they want something, eat it once and it goes bad. I would have donated it somewhere but I know the boxes don't stay fresh long and mom can't have them because of her diabetes and milk/chocolate allergies.
I did stash DH's boxes high in the cabinet and in the back of the freezer but I'll make him take those back to DC when he comes home. .

Wish I was a bit more like that. I RARELY toss out food. I try so hard to find a way to use it up.... even cereal crumbs! (Hence my cereal crumb breakfast cookie recipe over the BL recipe thread!! )

I accidentally deleted my entire iPhoto album once, 30,000 + pics gone!! DH thankfully is a computer guy and hooked his Mac to my Mac for 3 days and recovered over 90% of my photos. HE ROCKS!!!
I now have an external hard drive and Time Machine to back up my computer.

That must have made you NUTS!! Especially as a scrapper! We (knock on wood) haven't lost any significant pictures, but DH has been asked by relatives a few times to try to recover photos from fried computers. He's had great luck/success with it and I know they are so appreciative. We have an external back-up for our computer too... but we don't have a schedule to use it every ________ number of days. We should.

Thank you Everyone

the Doc called this morning and all the bloodwork came back completely normal... which is good but that means I dont have an answer lol. So she wants to do the halter monitor thing. she gave me a referral to a cardiologist

But I don't know she said my heart sounded good and I haven't had any weird feelings in my chest and I know I've felt palpitations before every once in a great while but I'm not feeling anything in my chest. She also thinks that maybe they could be just mild panic attacks. she said all those things are a symptom of hyperventilating and panic attacks... with my period I can see how I would be more likely to have a mild panic attack.

I don't know. we will just have to wait and see I guess :) but I really appreciate all the support.

Also... If you count the one pound increase I had I have lost 3 pounds. So that is very encouraging :)

So how are all of you. I feel like I haven't had a chance to pop in here much the last few days. I hope you are all doing well

Wish it was an easy answer. Hopefully you can find a doctor who will give you a cut on the payments? Ask in advance if they will give a discount for cash. Sometimes they will.

Three pounds is GREAT!!

Quack? QUACK! I've been given over to the Donalds -- go easy on me, guys! :goodvibes

Hello to all. Hope to be kicking butt along with all of you. :thumbsup2

By the way, I *adore* the "I love my computer because all my friends live in it" image. That is me, to a "T" -- having moved all over the place, it's completely true. :surfweb:

Glad you decided to come join us!! Things have been a bit quiet here lately, but we will be merging with Team Mickey soon and it will get a bit busier. Feel free to answer today's QOTD and tell us a bit more about yourself!!

Well folks.... once again I've spent too much time responding to "stuff" and I am running out of chat time.

I ended up making the decision last night to skip church and errands. I did 20 minutes on the rowing machine (sore butt today to prove it!), 40 minutes on the treadclimber, and 5 minutes on the elliptical (I hopped on when the TC wasn't available, but it opened up quickly). It was a good workout.. a nice change from just running/walking. I was afraid my shoulders were going to be sore from the rowing, but they are just fine.

Not sure what I will plan for tonight. I'm self conscious about doing sprint intervals on the TM at the Y and that is what I had been planning. But I will be at the Y, regardless..... with gas prices where they are, I can't afford to drop DD at swim, return home, and go back later (it is 60 minutes round trip). So tonight I will be staying, using the equipment there, and then finding a quiet spot to do a bit of scrapping for an hour or so before she is done (her practice is 2 1/2 hours).

Dinner tonight is tacos for the family/taco salad for me. I wouldn't usually indulge the night before weigh-in, but I can keep my taco salads pretty light.... plus I promised DS. I do have a piece of fish I'd like to cook and I could save the tacos for tomorrow.... maybe he won't remember I promised them for tonight??? That's it.... I'm deciding to cook the fish and save the tacos for tomorrow. Then I'll push Friday's pulled pork to Saturday. Buying that fresh fish (it was a good sale) has messed with my PLAN!! Anyone got a good recipe for Sole??? I'll probably just bake it with a few crumbs on top.

I'll start that BL meal planning thread tonight.... start getting those healthy meal ideas ready!...............P

HOnestly, as much as I love that project, I haven't taken the time to try to make it. Maybe I'll have to share it for a summer project. BTW, have you tried Home Depot or Lowe's for a piece of inexpensive sheet metal??
Not yet. Haven't been that ambitious yet! I have just looked at the places that I am already at. I will have DH check the next time he is there. I am not in a rush to make one.

Really?? Shows how much FOX I watch. We have DISH and I haven't even noticed it missing. How long has it been gone??
It is a local thing. Our local FOX and NBC affiliate are owned by the same company and they are in a contract dispute over $$$$.

That must have made you NUTS!! Especially as a scrapper! We (knock on wood) haven't lost any significant pictures, but DH has been asked by relatives a few times to try to recover photos from fried computers. He's had great luck/success with it and I know they are so appreciative.
My DH has saved photos from people's camera cards several time, including ours. If you ever accidentally delete them off the camera or have something happen to your card so you can't get the photos off DON'T DO anything! Find someone that is knowledgeable and they can most likely be recovered. Just don't put anything else on the card. Losing photos is my biggest nightmare!:scared1:

The best plans are the ones that are flexible and can be changed!

Okay, kitchen is cleaned and the living room, dining room and kitchen are mopped. Still have to sweep and mop the front hall and the laundry room but the girls have to clean it up first. And have to clean the bathrooms. I may save some of that for tomorrow.

Welcome YOu have a great day to join us. ON the last few pages we have been telling people about ourselves.

Hi Everyone! I have been so lazy lately about checking in here and my eating is suffering because of it! :headache: I would love to make up an excuse about why I haven't been around but I don't really have one :confused3 And since not being around here, I have certainly noticed a change for the worse in my eating habits. I'm don't think I am being as bad as I was before I started making changes, but I am definitely eating a lot more snacks and bad for me food. I really want to get back OP though, so I am gong to work at getting back on the boards more too. Since Lent started yesterday, I am going to try to use that as a jumping off point for me. Somehow, I am always able to eliminate things from my diet much easier when it is for Lent rather than just because it is good for me. So this year, I am giving up candy, soda and Caribou/Starbucks coffee. The candy part won't be too hard as I have really cut back on it anyhow, but I have gotten into the bad habit of starting every day with some sort of caffeen. So far so good...I haven't had any headaches yesterday or today, so I hope that continues :thumbsup2

As for telling a little about myself, I am Beth, I am 31 years old and I live in MN. I work for an airline and I like to travel (especially since the flights are free), but my BF doesn't like it as much, so I haven't done as much in the last 3 years as I used to do. I have been with my BF for 3 1/2 years and am hoping to get a ring from him some time soon :rolleyes1 I love to read and I play a lot of sports. My favorite is probably Ultimate frisbee and in the summer I play at least 2 days a week. I just joined a spring league so hopefully the snow will be gone by our first game on Apr. 9.

That's about all for now. Have a great afternoon everyone!

beth

I thought it might be panic attacks when you mentioned your symptoms the other day but I forgot to ask.
I hope they can figure it out soon!

Most of the trail had just muddy spots and twigs and stuff, but as you come to the fork there was a huge tree down that we had to run around or climb over. DS of course opted to climb but I'm so short there was no way I was getting over it!!

When my pics vanished, I cried! My poor kids didn't know what to do.

I try to copy my computer once a month but if I don't I'll get a pop up message telling me it can't do it so then I plug the HD in and start the machine.

Not sure where to find the QOTD, so I'll offer this up instead :) :

A little bit about myself ...

I'm entering the second half of my 30's (like that?), married to an ultra-nerd and mother to a 3 year old aspiring geekchild. I'm very fortunate I'm able to work from home, although what that really means is I get very little work done in between playing "Mommy Taxi" and full time waitress. ;) We've lived overseas for a while but are now back in my "Motherland".

My chubby-hubby and I decided to get back to our former selves a few weeks ago. Back in the early 00's, we had nice success working off our excess weight with Atkins -- then "baby happened" and then "fat happened." So, we're back at it now that life's calmed down (a bit); we wanted to try the more-lenient way of eating and variety that South Beach offers.

Glad to be here, ladies and gents. :goodvibes

Hello Donalds!:donald:

I've been off the boards for a few weeks, just didn't have much to say.
Still reading and playing along though:) and reporting my weigh-ins weekly. I did skip a WI one week when I was up and we won that week by .6-- so you can thank me for that one:laughing: (although I DO NOT ADVOCATE skipping a WI if you are up however!) If I don't have a big surprise tomorrow I should be down 1.2 for this week and 7 total for the challenge. I'm a little behind on my goal for the challenge; I should be at 10 pounds lost by this point but I'm still VERY happy to have 7 more pounds off:cool1:

So, a very quick catch-up: I'm SO proud of all our princess: runners!!! You ladies ROCK and are totally my role models! Pamela, thank you so much for posting your before/after photos -very inspiring and motivating for me! We have had some awesome coaches the past few weeks. I have been answering the QOTD in my head and reflecting on them all day sometimes but not taking time to post my answers here.:sad2: Kathy, GREAT job getting right back on track after vacay. LTS, your DH is so sweet to meet you at the Dr. and help you recover the photos. Buffy, way to kick those cookies to the curb. Wish I had that willpower. Dona, you continue to amaze me each and every day. Thank you for all you do for us. Lisa, thanks for checking in on me and the very thoughtful PM. Hello to everyone else. Even though I haven't been posting, I have celebrated with you when you succeded and felt for you when times were tough.

Starting tomorrow you will see a lot more of me as I am the coach for next week:banana::banana: I hope I can do as well as the ones we've had so far!
I am going to try to have my best week ever so let's all inspire each other to have a great week:yay: 3 pounds is about the most I've ever lost in one week and that would be if I was doing WW at the very beginning or something like that but I am challenging myself to lose 3 pounds next week. If I can do that, I will pass 30 pounds lost in total:wizard:

can you guys tell me just a smidgen about yourselves?

Linda

Sure! I'm Shawn, just turned 50 last month, married 16 years with one son who will turn 14 in 3 weeks. I am from NC but relocated to Stuttgart, Germany August 2009 with my husband's job. We are here until July, 2012 so we are over halfway done with our assignment. I worked for the same company for 24 years before I moved here. I enjoy travel, shopping, reading, movies/TV, cross-stitching, investing/saving $ type activities, exercise and spoiling myself rottenprincess: I keep myself busy here with German lessons, yoga classes, Women's Club, PTA and of course lots of travel and sight-seeing.

Hope you all have a great rest of the day. I'm going to watch AI first thing tomorrow morning while I do my elliptical workout and then I will post our Friday QOTD.
I am 6 hours ahead of the US East Coast so unfortunately you won't see me here after 5:00 PM EST but I will catch up on things the next day.

Shawnprincess:

Good evening TEAM DONALD!

Pamela, you are the last person that I would think of as being bossy! ;)

Kathy, great job being on track and doing 4 days of exercise this week! :woohoo:

LTS, so glad to hear that the pics were recovered! :thumbsup2

Buffy, so nice that you and your DS are running together! :goodvibes

sparks19, glad the bloodwork came out normal. pixiedust: that your symtoms go away on their own.

Quack? QUACK! I've been given over to the Donalds -- go easy on me, guys! :goodvibes

Hello to all. Hope to be kicking butt along with all of you. :thumbsup2

:welcome: Missoutandabout!

Hi Beth! Nice to see you! :flower3:

Hi Shawn! Nice to see you, too! :goodvibes And thanks for coaching this week. :flower3: There is sometimes a coaching effect and coaches have great weeks when they are coaching so I hope that happens to you.

And thank you to Linda for coaching this past week! :flower3:

I've had a bad case of the hungries the past couple of days. I'm eating my regular things but I just feel hungry even after I eat. I've tried increasing my protein and eating some extra fruit. I hope this means that my metabolism is revving up! :cool2:

Good luck to everyone for tomorrow's weigh in! :flower3: And don't forget if you even have one HH point you can send in your HH info too.

Have a great evening DONALDS!

Welcome to Healthy Habits!

My name is CC (short for Christina) and I will be your Healthy Habits coach for BL 11. I love the BL challenges and Healthy Habits has helped me significantly in achieving many of my goals.

Some Background Information: Thanks to donac (Dona-hostess of Team Donald) and jenanderson for their amazing help so I know how to coach! I couldn’t do this without seeing them in action previously. I will be continuing the prizes that Jen started.

Here’s How Healthy Habits Works: Each week there will be 3 Healthy Habits (HH) to complete. The first two HHs will always be drinking water and exercising. (Note: The amount and time will increase throughout the challenge!) At the end of each week, you will tally up the number of points you earned for the week and send me a private message with your total. Here’s an example. For Week 1, the 3 HHs are drink Six 8 oz. glasses of water a day, exercise a minimum of 20 minutes per day, and eat at least 3 servings of vegetables a day. If on 4 days you get in all 3 HHs, you would report your points like this:

4/6 days of drinking water
4/6 days of exercising
4/6 days of eating veggies

Your total points (ex: 12/18) AND your team name should be in the subject of your PM.

This is a team competition. On/about Tuesday evening, I will post the week’s results. I will share the number of participants on each team and the top scorers on each team. New for BL 11: I will also list the people who earned 7/7 on one or more of the HHs for the week. If you participated on the team with the most participants, you will be entered into a drawing for the week's prize. Each prize will have something to do with the 3rd Healthy Habit for the week. I will post the winner and ask that you PM me your contact information. (Please Note: If you do not wish to be entered into the drawing, please let me know in your PM. I understand people’s WISHes for privacy.)

Participation in Healthy Habits is entirely optional, but I encourage you to participate and help your team be on top for the week. Good luck on your journey and I hope that HHs helps you as much as it continues to help me!

Welcome to Health Habits Week 11

Week 11 is 3/11-3/17.

This week's 3 Healthy Habits are:
1) Drink Eight 8 oz. glasses of water.
2) Exercise a minimum of 30 minutes a day.
3) Eat at least 1 serving of dairy per day.

At the end of the week, please PM me your points. I will post the results on/about Tuesday. Don't forget, this is a team competition!

Remember, every participant counts, regardless of the number of points you earn!

If you have any questions, please free to ask!

Sticking to my Lent committment, I am popping in to say hello.

Will post more in the morning guys - long day and long week.

Linda

:tinker::donald:

Well, over 19,000 files (photos) copied to the organizing program and of that about 7000 didn't make it back to their proper location. But they were put in the program into a general folder, and all the folders were in place, sort of like if you dropped the contents of your filing cabinet on the floor. So I spent today moving over 7000 photos back to their proper place.

Now I am loading all my 2010 and 2011 photos in. It will be great to have them all where they belong and where I can use them. :)

Of course all this meant that I was really too busy to eat. DH wasn't in the mood to cook so I made something quick and easy for the girls and he had a salad. When I realized I was hungry I made some tuna salad and drove my cats crazy (they got a little tuna). Then DH and I had some popcorn:: while watching tv.

I'm very interested to see where my weigh in end up tomorrow. Usually I can predict it pretty well but I am really not sure at this point.

Everyone have a great night and send those weights in tomorrow!

Today:
first I'd like to say, thank you to the geek squad for getting our tickers back. I missed seeing my Nonald Nuh (what DS9 used to call donald) running towards victory!! :donald:

Today was a good day. Zero snacking!! :woohoo:
didn't get my water in which was a bummer but tomorrow is a new day. I will work out which is a guaranteed 28 oz, my brita bottle has never worked so hard!!
And I got 21 scrapbook pages done which was phenomenal! My head has been a lot clearer lately and I stay focused more.

My big concerns for today were A) my cold. It feels ok, but my chest feels heavy, like there is something weighing on me. Hopefully it will get better tomorrow.
B) Food was ok, I got Panera. Opted for no bread on my chicken salad sandwich which saved me 180 calories, yeah for 1/2 a sandwich. That's crazy that bread has that many calories!!
However, in going back over the menu when I got home I realized that even though the broccoli cheddar soup was 190 calories the sodium was over 1000 mg!!! Which is just insane! Here I was thinking I made a good choice and that Panera was great for putting their calories on the board but 1000mg of sodium, I was floored.

So now I need to come up with other alternatives. I like soup when I'm sick or it's cold out but everything is so ridiculously bad for you.

Oh and I have a question. When you journal and you are sick, do you write down your meds? I took Nyquil last night, only 1/2 the recommended dosage and I passed out! But I didn't write it down, should I?

Well I guess that's all for tonight. Im beat and I still need to check the weather for the impending monsoon we are supposed to get. Tomorrow I will probably be pumping out the basement all day, wish me luck!!! :rotfl2:

Good Friday morning Team Donald. We made it to Friday. It is still raining here in jersey but it is supposed to stop soon.

Ds2 is coming home tonight. It will be good to see him.

BernardandMissBianca I hope that the chest feels better this morning. I don't know about journaling the medicine. Does it have a calorie count on it?

lovetoscrap Glad to hear about the pictures being okay. I am in the process of transfering my pictures to a portable hard drive and snapfish so I have a double back up. I also want to scan in the pictures we have taken before digital. It is so easy with a digital camera to take a lot of pictures. You don't have to worry about film and getting it developed.

jimmduck Hi!

lisah0711 I know what you mean about the hungries. I think mine has been stress induced since with the crappy weather coming my knee has been bothering me. By the time the rain came last night it started feeling better. I had no problem at yoga last night.

SettinSail I was just thinking about you yesterday. Glad to see you back.

Missoutandabout I have 2 boys and I know what you mean about MOM taxi and waitress. I came home late a coupleof weeks ago and dh was watching tv and ds was doing his taxes. I took one look and said I have to go and work on costumes and left. I let them get their own dinner.

princess_reject welcome back

Pamela if you live around here you could have gotten your ashes in your car. A local church were giving out ashes as cars drove up to the church. They had a big sign saying Drive Up Ashes.

Had a great yoga session last night. She really changed things up and at times I felt like a beginner. It was great.

Have to go

Have a happy and healthy day.

Good morning Donalds!:donald:

My name is Shawn and I will be your coach this week. Many thanks to Linda for being our coach last week. She is a busy lady! It looks like it will be a breeze week for me to coach with this few participants posting lately.;) I have a feeling there are many more of us just reading along but not posting - just like I have been doing for the last few weeks:sad2: Perhaps we can discuss some topics that will get more people interested and we can hear a few more opinions from new folks. I love to learn new tips, tricks and ideas from others:teacher:

It seems like every time there is a season change, life gets very busy and hectic as we transition out of one stage of year into another. So I can totally understand if you are too busy to post much, but just pop in with a few lines when you can!

Good luck with weigh-ins today Donalds! Don't forget to PM your result to Tigger and send in your HH total points from last week to CC. Take a second to note what our HH for this week are and try to get as many points as you can this week. Following those healthy habits will really set you up for success on the scale. If they all seem overwhelming, begin by focusing on just one at a time and work your way up to more. Remember you do not have to be perfect but you won't even come close if you don't try. If you mess up one day or one meal, don't worry about it, get right back on track as soon as you can . At our house, we call that the "FIDO" theory. Forget It and Drive On.

Well, I watched AI from last night while doing my elliptical workout this morning, showered and ate breakfast and after this I am going to make 3 or 4 dishes to have for the weekend so I won't have to cook any more until Monday. One thing I am looking to do is change up my salads, which leads me to our QOTD:

QOTD Friday March 11, 2011: What do you put into a typical salad?

I always have iceberg lettuce, diced onion, diced peppers (sorry LTS I may have already turned your stomach!), and shredded carrot. Sometimes olives, sometimes broccoli. If I want a heavier salad, I add egg, cheese, beans, lunch meat. I prefer a bottled Italian dressing but they do not sell this here in Germany (can you believe that !?!) I am looking for ideas for other types of greens. I do like Romaine but they are sold in tiny little heads here that are very expensive for some reason. I see a lot of other greens that look good so I would love to hear from you what you like. The endive always looks good but how does it taste? Yes, I need to experiment. I would love to hear what kind of dressing you use. If it is homemade, please give the recipe.

Buffy, I missed chatting with you too! I would say to note any meds taken in with your food journal just in case you want to go back and see if it had any effect on your weight that week but other than that, I don't see that it makes a whole lot of difference. I tend to write down anything and everything going on at that moment since I know I won't remember it later!
Good job on zero snacking !!! Hope your cold goes away soon. I am also suffering with a bad cold and I am trying to sweat it out with lots of cardio and lots of water.

LTS, glad you got all your pictures back and organized. Lisa, good luck with the hungries! Wish I had some good advice for you. Sounds like you are reaching for good extra calories. I have those days sometimes and I feel like I have to wait them out and they eventually go away. I turn to water, chewing gum and my good old friend the timer to help me. I force myself to wait 10 or 15 minutes before I allow myself more food if I really don't think I need more. Getting involved in a project or task helps me too.

Today is the last day of our Spring Break from school. We did not travel and have just stayed around the house all week. We went downtown Tuesday and watched the Fasching parade, it is the German version of carnivale. Very interesting! I will try to post a few pictures later. Wednesday, DS and I did some shopping and yesterday, DS went to a friend's house. Today, we have nothing on our agenda. Aside from cooking, I am going to work on my 1000 piece puzzle- about 200 pieces to go, and I will do some reading and cross-stitching and work on some planning for upcoming trips. We are going to Holland/Belgium/Luxembourg for a week at Easter and I have a friend coming for 10 days in May.

Make it a great day Donalds!

Good Friday morning Team Donald. We made it to Friday. It is still raining here in jersey but it is supposed to stop soon.

Had a great yoga session last night. She really changed things up and at times I felt like a beginner. It was great.

Have to go

Have a happy and healthy day.

Man, I will have to get an earlier start if I want to be on here before you every morning! You'd think I could do it with a 6 hour time advantage:rotfl:

Our yoga teacher has been doing P90X at home on her own and she incorporates some of those moves into our practice and they are tough! We are always fussing at her "NO P90X moves !!!" We had this week off yoga and next week too. I need to do some sun salutations here every day just to keep flexible.

Enjoy your visit with son !!!:yay:

Have a great afternoon everyone!

beth

:goodvibes

Nice to learn a little bit more about both of you!!! Thanks for sharing!

Starting tomorrow you will see a lot more of me as I am the coach for next week. I hope I can do as well as the ones we've had so far!
I am going to try to have my best week ever so let's all inspire each other to have a great week:yay: 3 pounds is about the most I've ever lost in one week and that would be if I was doing WW at the very beginning or something like that but I am challenging myself to lose 3 pounds next week. If I can do that, I will pass 30 pounds lost in total

Glad to see you back again! I was thinking about a few of my MIA friends just last night!

I look forward to your coaching! I'm sure you will do GREAT! I'm envious of your upcoming Easter trip.... pictures please!!!

I've given up trying to predict my loss/gain every Friday. It makes me a bit nuts. Hopefully you will have a great number.

Today:
first I'd like to say, thank you to the geek squad for getting our tickers back.

:rotfl2:

Happy to hear you made some good choices at Panera. Sorry about the sodium.

When it comes to meds, I don't worry about calories, but I always make a note in my journal when I have taken something like that .... actually I make a note of anything unusual.... just so that if I

GOTTA RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone!! Hope we all are happy with our numbers on the scale today, and if not, it's the start of a new week, and if you have been doing everything right, just hang in there. The scale will catch up eventually.

I'm happy to be down 3 pounds today, so all but .2 of my vacation weight is gone. Now my next goal is ONE-derland again.

Thank you Linda for coaching last week. :flower3:

Thank you Shawn for coaching this week.:flower3: I missed your posts when I returned from vacation. Glad to see you back again.

Congrats to our 2 teammates who did the HH last week. I'll send mine in this week for sure! Thanks CC for running the HH, even though we don't always send in our results, I know many of us do think about them each week, and try to get some of them in each day.

Zero snacking!!

And I got 21 scrapbook pages done which was phenomenal!
I read the first statement, and thought you were my hero, and then the second one just confirmed it. 21 pages is amazing!!! All the scrappers here are so inspiring to me. And the added benefit of not being able to snack while scrapping is so helpful too. Hope the basement isn't too bad, Buffy.

Good Friday morning Team Donald. We made it to Friday. It is still raining here in jersey but it is supposed to stop soon.
You all got slammed in NJ. Hope your basement is ok too.

QOTD Friday March 11, 2011: What do you put into a typical salad?
I usually buy the prewashed bags of lettuce for my salads, and usually the romaine mix, or whatever is on sale, and usually make the salad as a meal and will add chicken, cheese, beans, leftover grilled vegies, frozen peas, corn, salsa. Occassionally will buy dried cranberries, walnuts and a little feta cheese. My basic salad is the lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. I'll throw fruit in too, chopped apple, strawberries, blueberries, mandarin oranges. If I add fruit, I usually just have chicken with it, or cheese. I haven't made salad in a while, but think I need to this weekend. I love Ken's Sweet Vidalia dressing, or a light ranch if I'm doing more of the salsa/mexican salad, but will sometimes just use the salsa for dressing. Also a light balsamic vinaigrette.

Shawn- The romaine has been really small here and expensive lately, so we've gone to iceberg lettuce for our guinea pig. It's hard to pay 2$ for a tiny head when last summer we paid 89 cents for a huge head. I think the guinea pig likes iceberg better.;)

Have a great day Team Donald!!
