TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

Hi, Team Donald!

I don't post much, but I wanted to say way to go everyone on their losses! And, to those of us who have been struggling (notice I'm including myself) -- more power to us!!!! :woohoo:

I FINALLY dropped another pound. I am down 7 lbs overall. I really wanted to be down more by now, but hey, I'll take 7!

Yay, Team Donald!!!!! :cheer2:

Nice to hear from a lurker! WTG on 7 pounds!! Go pick up a 7 pound bag of potatoes, if you think it isn't much!!

Just popping on here to see if Buffy had posted anything about her mammo results. NOthing yet I guess...................P

I did the right thing and I went. Got in 30 mins on the bike and then the timing worked out well to attend the orientation class for the upper body weight machines.

Good for you! (We need a "pat on the back" smilie!).....P

Lovetoscrap:
Instead of posting here this morning I went and joined the fitness center! I have told myself that on my days to go I am not allowed to use the computer for fun until I go. THAT should motivate me! I got my workout just trying to get ready to go. It took me nearly half an hour to gather everything I needed which involved walking to the end of the driveway and back and in and out of the house (and several steps) about 15 times. I would get to the car and realize I forgot something (Ipod, headphones, hat, sweatband, towels, phone, snack, water) and have to go back in and search for it. At the end I was finally IN the car, ready to back out when I realized I had still forgotten my tennis shoes! Got those and then had to stop by Walmart and buy a lock for the locker and some new headphones-- never found mine.
What’s really fun is when you forget a clean bra. I can go sans underwear no problem, I’ll wear dirty socks— but there’s no way I’m putting a sweaty bra back on… It helped me to organize stuff like you would pack a suitcase-moisturizer, shampoo, shaver, deodorant all go in the same Ziploc bag All those hotel moisturizers and shampoos that hang out in the bathroom drawers finally come in handy. Be sure and bring extra batteries for your ipod if you have the kind that needs them. There’s nothing worse than to run out of ‘tunes half way through a workout. I’m glad you went to work out today. I decided to skip a day—need some down time today.

Quotd: Friday 18th

What is one health problem you have that could be solved entirely by losing weight.
Mine was my back. I had pain every day ranging from moderate to severe and I can honestly say it’s not a problem anymore.

Sorry to hear about DS's strep. Any chance that he also has scarlet fever? Some people swear by the "strep breath" that some kids get with strep, for home diagnosis.

My sil asked about the scarlet fever too. What I've read it presents with a body rash esp on the arm pits and groin and the big thing is the sandpaper texture of it. I recalled the doc check out his chest and back and sort of glided his hand on his stomach and back and he checked his pits :goodvibes - maybe he was checking for that. He has nothing else on his body, just the cheeks. he just said if he was not improving to come back. Not sure what Strep breath is?

Congrats on the upcoming trip!!!

I did the right thing and I went. Got in 30 mins on the bike and then the timing worked out well to attend the orientation class for the upper body weight machines.

Good job on going to the gym!! I'm having the same AF issues however I was not so lucky.

I had a MAJOR popcorn:: attack a little while ago. Ate half my kids fries, broke into the bag of Lays potato chips - and they are SOOOO right you can't eat just one  esp w/ french onion dip. I had about 10 chips. Then later I had an m&m cookie :headache: WTH!!!! I blame full blown AF time, trapped in the house w/ now TWO sick kids (oldest just tested + for strep this morning) and a bunch of junk food that mommy caved in and said yes to my poor sick kids when at the grocery store (2 trips to the pharmacy so picked up "treats" each time w/ each kid)

ugh!

Well I CAN contribute a 5.2 pound loss over the week - can't promise for next week at the rate I'm going . No I will be better. Hopefully I can get on the treadmill a bit tonight.

Posted another small loss this week. Heading to the gym for an hour of spin class. Really need it after the work week - can you say HECTIC!?!?

Just popping on here to see if Buffy had posted anything about her mammo results. NOthing yet I guess...................P

I'm here.
I finally got a hold of the Dr after playing phone tag all day. So, there are no masses but they saw swelling so I have to go back Thursday for an ultrasound. The dr thinks it's just thickening of the skin but they want to be sure.

So now I need to change my podiatrist appt which is for the same time.

With your injured shoulder things may look different and it's good that they are cautious. Thanks for letting us know as I was thinking about you today. :flower3:

Welcome to Healthy Habits Pamper Week!

My name is CC (short for Christina) and I will be your Healthy Habits coach for BL 11. I love the BL challenges and Healthy Habits has helped me significantly in achieving many of my goals.

Some Background Information: Thanks to donac (Dona-hostess of Team Donald) and jenanderson for their amazing help so I know how to coach! I couldn’t do this without seeing them in action previously. I will be continuing the prizes that Jen started.

Here’s How Healthy Habits Pamper Week Works: Each day there will be three "Habits" for you to complete. You do not need to keep track of your points and there will not be a winner. This is simply for your enjoyment!

Welcome to Day 2, Saturday 2/19

1) Have a glass of milk or a dairy substitute.
2) Read something you find interesting and/or enjoyable for about 10 minutes.
3) Wear something special.

P.S. Week 6 Results will be posted over the weekend. I apologize-again.

Good evening everyone! Busy day, and not enough dis time, but just wanted to pop in and say hello, and hope everyone is doing well. I was up a pound this morning, but hope to see that gone plus some by sunday when I'll do my official weighin.

Hoping to get everything together for our trip on wednesday over the weekend, and do a good housecleaning so we come home after vaca to a clean house.

a big thank you to Julie for last being last weeks coach. You did an awesome job, and i loved all your questions.:flower3:

I will update the qotd list over the weekend some time.

Thanks 50s Jayne for coaching this week. Hope to be able to catch up and keep up over the weekend.

Keep up the great work. Seen some very good numbers posted here!! :cheer2:

Have a great night and weekend everyone.

I'm still here!! I'm still here!! :yay:

Life has been too busy for a lot of DISing, but I'm still trying to be healthy. Down one pound.

And I totally admit that I could work a LOT harder. :cool2:

Good morning TEAM DONALD!

Please be sure to PM those weigh ins to tigger813 and HH numbers to cclovesdis -- remember you only have to earn 1 HH point to report so we should all be able to report. It's time to show those Mickeys what a feisty bunch of ducks can do! :donald:

I just booked the airline tickets for my Mother/Daughter trip to WDW in May!!:yay: I've never been to Disney two years in a row. I was just about 130 lb last year when I went with DS.... so I am NOT going back at any more than that!! So I've got a few to lose by then... and plenty of time, so no excuses!

Woo hoo for a loss! :woohoo: Sometimes I think we need to eat to get our bodies to release things. I attribute my great loss this week to being starving and eating. ;)

And another :woohoo: for a mother/daughter trip! You guys are going to have a great time and it is something that she will remember all her life. Your boys will no doubt have some great manly fun while you are gone, too. :goodvibes

ChrisinNJ, your ticker keeps ticking away those pounds! :thumbsup2

7 pounds lost is super! :yay: And a slow and steady loss is more likely to stick around!

I did the right thing and I went. Got in 30 mins on the bike and then the timing worked out well to attend the orientation class for the upper body weight machines.

Glad that you had a good workout! :thumbsup2 Your body gets stronger while is repairs itself during rest -- sounds like you are doing a great job of mixing things up!

Susan, thanks for being our coach this week! :flower3:

My health problem that has improved with my healthier lifestyle is my overall sense of just feeling like I should. :goodvibes You kind of forget what it is like to have energy and feel good!

I had a MAJOR popcorn:: attack a little while ago. Ate half my kids fries, broke into the bag of Lays potato chips - and they are SOOOO right you can't eat just one  esp w/ french onion dip. I had about 10 chips. Wow! A 5.2 pound loss! :yay: That is super and you were dealing with AF and sick kids, too, so you get an extra :cheer2:

Every loss helps! Sorry that you had a hectic week! :flower3:

Ah, pamering week! One of my favs! princess:

Kathy, you are tapering so don't overdo on the housework! :flower3:

Today I will do 5 miles and then I am done with any training runs until the race on Saturday. I will still do a little walking but official training is done! :cool2: Then time for a little packing and housework. I'm figuring the boys are not going to be too concerned about housework while I am gone so I'm not going to knock myself out before I leave -- it will be here when I get back! ;)

Congrats to everyone who is still here and still working on their goals! Go DONALDS!

Thanks!! Had to get out of my own head yesterday while waiting for them to call back. That's mostly why I was MIA. That and the kids had 1/2 days so we went out to lunch after.

:yay: I just booked the airline tickets for my Mother/Daughter trip to WDW in May!!:yay: I've never been to Disney two years in a row. Well.... that's about all to report from here. I'll try to hop on later tonight, but no promises!.....................P

When are you going? DS14 and I will be there May 5-8

Wow. Well—that’s what happens when you’re hungry…Seriously you were stressed, there's nothing worse than having sick kids but when you lose that much your body goes into panic mode and demands you to eat.

QUOTD: Sat /19

What's your favorite music to work out to?

I have a lot on my ipod--some is better and I do better when I'm listening to it. In fact I need to go through and put some new stuff on. Some of my favorites right now:
"Major Tom (Coming Home)" by Peter Schilling
" " remix
Happy Birthday--Altered Images
" " remix

Pop Muzik--M
My Sharona
Lime in the coconut--Harry Neilson
Little Bitty Pretty one
I need to go through and get rid of stuff I've listened to too much, and make sure there's a good rhythm to each song. Some I really like but not to exercise to. Think I need more 50's stuff.

I'm here.

Glad to hear it was nothing alarming. I will continue to pray though. When I had my "scare" several years ago, it was just a sinus infection gone out of control... caused swelling in lymph nodes all over the place! Who knew??

lost another pound this week. Inching closer to the 180's!!

WOOHOO!!:woohoo:

Good evening everyone! Busy day, and not enough dis time, but just wanted to pop in and say hello, and hope everyone is doing well. I was up a pound this morning, but hope to see that gone plus some by sunday when I'll do my official weighin.

Isn't it FABULOUS to come home to a clean house!!? My family just doesn't understand it.

I was getting frustrated about the maintaining, but I remembered that I have had this issue in the past and it is usually due to UNDER-eating.

I'm excited about heading back to Disney with DD this time. DS and I had SUCH a fabulous time last year.... I'm sure it will be just as much fun with DD! I'll try to get the guys to make some real "plans" before I leave, but DH usually just 'wings it" with whichever child he is left with. I'm sure that it will involve a trip to the "fun park" for go-carts and minigolf, a movie, and probably a trip to my LEAST favorite place, Chuck E. Cheese's!!

Today I will do 5 miles and then I am done with any training runs until the race on Saturday. I will still do a little walking but official training is done! :cool2: Then time for a little packing and housework. I'm figuring the boys are not going to be too concerned about housework while I am gone so I'm not going to knock myself out before I leave -- it will be here when I get back! ;)

Unbelievable that the race is SO close! And yup, if your family is like mine, the mess WILL still be there for you when you get back.:lmao:

When are you going? DS14 and I will be there May 5-8

SERIOUSLY??? We will be there at the same time!!!! WOOHOO!! We are arrive late on 5/5 and leaving late on 5/9!! We SO need to at least meet up to say hello!! I haven't made ANY other plans yet, other than airfare, so I have nothing else to share yet, but we will talk when things start getting closer. Maybe we will be in the same park one day and can meet for lunch and a ride or two?? This will be a total "COMMANDO time in the parks" trip for us.... see it all, do it all, ride it all in just 4 days! We may or may not be including a day at WWOHP or SeaWorld. Haven't really looked into that yet. None of us have ever been to US and I couldn't care less for HP, but DD (and DS) read the entire series last year for the first time and would probably love to see WWOHP. Personally, I don't want to take the time away from Disney... but DD and I will have to talk about it.

Well friends! Once again the morning has flown by! DS is "dog-sitting" for the neighbor, so I agreed to get up early with him for the first dog walk of the morning (brrrrrr!). Then the usual.... laundry, dishes, breakfast and getting ready for today's swim event. I have just 30 minutes to go before I MUST be in the shower and moving along.

I did have a "splurge" of a glass of wine last night.... I haven't had a glass of wine in AGES. The only two times I can actually remember having wine in the past two or three years has been Christmas morning mimosas! Not sure why it was so appealing last night. That said, I DID NOT eat the pizza I brought home for DD. Instead I made my own "light" pizza with a 60 calorie pita pocket for the crust, a wedge of LC cheese, a large quantity of sauteed veggies and some sundried tomatoes and then a carefully measured portion of reduced fat shredded cheese. It was very satisfying. I did have one bite of DD's pizza, but was glad I had decided not to indulge... it wasn't worth it. Not eating the pizza was a bigger victory than it appears...... it was late (about 8:45 pm) and I was tired and hungry. That is a really tricky time for me. The pizza smelled SO GOOD... but I stuck firm and I am proud of myself.

Right now I have a nice pot of vegetarian soup cooking up. Not sure who else might eat it besides me. It has quinoa, so DS shouldn't eat it (allergies). DD won't want it because it has kidney beans. And I"m not sure if DH will try it. But I will LOVE it! I plan on filling my thermos to bring for my dinner at the swim meet tonight. The rest will be portioned out and put in the freezer probably. But I am ALL SET with warm, filling, healthy low-cal meals for the week!

Well.... I've gotta run now! TTYL.................P

We definitely need to touch base. We are probably leaving mid day the 5th to fly down. The race is 8:30 pm on Saturday and we are leaving WDW mid day or early evening Sunday.

Did you decide if you are coming to the Cape?

:wave2: Just a quick drive by today, very busy weekend.

Unfortunately I let AF win the battle last night and ate a bunch of cookies. I had a really bad day that was getting worse and while I shouldn't have done it I really needed it. But I wrote it down in my journal and today is a new day.

Dinner tonight will be a challenge-- we are volunteering at an event and they provide dinner-- YUMMY dinner! But not South Beach friendly. I will enjoy a bit of it and probably take some snacks to fill in. Last year we were so busy that we really didn't have time to eat much anyway.

I hope everyone else is having as beautiful weather as we are and can enjoy some time in the sun! Have to run and get ready to go.

I haven't been on much this week. It sounds like everyone is doign great! I've done well with working out and eating this week. I only lost .2 but at least I stayed down. I'm heading in the right direction! I did level 1 of 30DS 3 times this week for a total of 7. I will probably do it another 3 this week and then move on to try level 2.
