TEAM DONALD--Biggest Loser 11 Spring Team Challenge

UH OH Team Donald! Team Mickey has taken a 13 pound lead so far!!!

Come on, you don't want to lose again this week! (Not being mean, just trying to inspire you all! All I want is for everyone to get healthy!!!! I care about you all!!!!!)

TTFN :tigger:

drive by posting, we are having another DIS crop in the scrapbook section.

OK so is it just me or does saboteur just sound cool, bad word but it sounds neat. I feel french! LOL sab -o -tooooorrrrrrr.

OK, yeah I've been inhaling way to much scrap glue!!!! LOL Or it was the happy hour meet and greet we had at the crop. :rolleyes1

COME ON DONALDS!!!!!! Get those weights in!!!!

New here!! Hello, everyone! Thought I would swing by and introduce myself! My name is Mandie Jo :) I have been struggling with my weight for some time now and after seeing a few pictures from this past weekend it was enough. I can't believe how far gone I've let myself go :( I really need help finding motivation to exercise and eat right.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone! Looks like I have a lot of reading and catching up to do!!

2/4 Friday QOTD: Who is your diet saboteur? How do you deal with her/him or them ?

I am by far my biggest saboteur. (Does this remind anyone else of Big Brother? LOL)

BUT - my husband is just as bad. We both have hectic schedules and he likes to take the easy route a lot and eat out. This really needs to stop. It not only would help both of our waistlines, but our pocketbooks too!!

:welcome: Mandie Jo

You've come to the right place for inspiration and support. Any help you need is right here.

This is just a quick check-in as I'm a tired little puppy. Got my car today:banana: Is it wrong to wanna kiss your car after not seeing it for 2 weeks:rotfl:

Work in the morning. Oh joy.

Have a great weekend everybody

Good morning Donalds!:donald:

We have blue skies and sunshine here today! Supposed to be a high of 50 degrees(F) It sounds very windy out though. I jumped on my elliptical this morning out of habit but maybe tomorrow morning I will go for a run. It's been a long time since I've run here, I've used the weather as an excuse for so long. It's mostly just been freezing cold but no danger of snow or ice so I suppose I should get back out there:rolleyes1 I'd like to alternate daily between elliiptical and running.

Just sent my WI to Tracy, HH to CC and WIN measurements to Connie. I think I'm down only .5. Can't remember exactly what I was at last week:laughing: I got 18 HH last week, didn't exercise a couple of days when I was having that tooth pain and didn't get all my water in on one busy day last week. I decided to get back into WIN since my weight loss is going so slowly right now. Haven't measured since Dec 2 and I was only down 2 inches, all off the bust! But I'll take it as I have a very "matronly" bosom that would look a lot better smaller. I think my bust and hips are not so bad but I can't seem to lose any off my waist or thighs:sad2:

Went to the doctor yesterday I'm 123 right now. Wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be--wasn't impressed with my 50# loss-- seemed more concerned about me. This doctor who is always telling me to lose weight...:sad1: Didn't do any kind of tests-- I thought I was going to get a physical...since the last one I had was me 50 pounds heavier and passed with flying colors I was looking forward to really __________with this one lol. I got what I wanted anyway-- I'll be back on the pill soon.

I'm surprised your Dr wasn't ESTATIC about your 50# weight loss. My Dr didn't have too much to say about my 24 pound loss either (well, it was only 21 lbs down the day I was in her office) She made some comment about how I must have made a few simple changes and it probably wasn't too hard to lose that over the course of a year and she was sure that wasn't all I wanted to lose! :headache: I was crushed! I had to work very hard to lose that weight. Hopefully I can show her an even bigger number next year.

Hi Everyone.

I"m new here and have been lurking a bit on and off for the past week or so. I guess it's time to jump right in...

So, for today's QOTD, I am most definitely my own saboteur. This is my first real attempt at dieting and I now know that I don't have much will power. I'm a stay at home mom to 3 young kids, so there is always "kid food" around. I'm trying, but some days are better than others.

:welcome: That's tough being at home all day but you can do it !!!
We are here to help!

:rotfl2:

I also looked at that word several times yesterday and said it out loud, so cool...

:welcome: We are so glad to have you! Nothing like a picture to wake yourself up to reality! If you don't have time to read back , it's fine to just jump in right here where we are today. If you have any questions, someone here will know the answer or have an idea for you!:goodvibes

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I'll come back later to answer the QOTD once it gets posted.:goodvibes

Shawnprincess:

Good morning Donalds, just jumping in again to say a quick hello. Time to get ready for work :headache: This is our first Saturday of a 10 week long road. DH has been getting on my nerves lately, so I'm kind of looking forward to getting out of the house. I don't think he fully appreciates the work involved with watching a 19 month old all day, but for the next 10 weeks he'll get the point :rotfl:

Good friday morning everyone!! I'd say TGIF if we weren't getting more snow tomorrow.;)

Sue- I did do netflix through the wii, and it's so easy and there's so many movies I haven't seen yet.

Oh good, that might make it even better than the Disney channel and Nickelodeon for Michael. I'm guessing he can use it on his own since he's 9 and most kids are more technically savvy than I am these days :lmao:

So what's our forecast for today? We're supposed to drive up to Portsmouth tomorrow around 11 to meet my MIL for brunch. She gets bummed that we don't go up on the weekends from Christmas til after tax season, but DH and I work on the weekends during busy season.

Good Saturday morning Team DOnald.

Don't forget to send your weight to tigger813, your HH points to cclovesdis and your WIN numbers to connie96. Please include your name and team name to the subject area.

My lesson study went okay. It is hard to come in and team someone else's class especially when they are also in the room. It went okay but not as well as I wanted it to.

Spent last night working on costumes for the local high school. the costume person is not a high pressure person and very wishy washy. The last number has no costumes and she is not making any decision on it. The theater is still one big empty hall with no walls, carpet and seats. If everything gets done in the 4 weeks it will be a miracle.

I am spending today there working on things we have already fitted. I plan on bringing lunch and always do a lot of walking during these days. Some days I have been known to put in 25000 steps.

Welcome laughinplace199 and Mandie_Jo This thread is a great place to start on this journey.

50sjayne I too am surprised that your doctor didn't make a bigger fuss.

SettinSail I am glad that your weather is cooperating to think about being outside. Here even if it does warm up there is no where to walk. Our streets are so narrow because of the buildup of snow there is no where safe to walk. We may be able to walk in April (Yes some of the snow piles are 5 ftt tall) great pictures of the hike. I don't know what you are talking about being the fat one. We are our own worst enemy.

Octoberbride03 congrats on getting the car back. It makes life so much easier.

BernardandMissBianca don't sniff too much glue today.

Yunchman good luck on getting all the HH poinrs I would love to do that also this week.

Hi to Pamela and anyone else I have missed.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Good morning Team Donald!!

:welcome: Laughingplace and MandieJo!! We do have a great, supportive and inspirational group here. Good luck, and like Shawn said, just ask if you have any questions.

After work we stopped and had supper out, and I did well, ordered fish, brocolli, and mashed potatoes which I only ate a couple bites, and I did have a piece of bread and butter, went grocery shopping, and did not come home with any chips or crackers. I would have if ds asked, but he didn't, so I didn't suggest it. We did buy some ice cream, and when we got home, the heat was broke, so I was too cold to eat it. :rotfl2: Gotta see the positives in the situation. My friend came over and tried to help me light the pilot but it wouldn't light, so had to call someone, and it only cost $200 so that wasn't too bad, and my house is warm again.

Not much exciting here, more rain/snow, and I'm going to borrow a roof rake and see if I can clear a little snow off my porch roofs. The main roof has a pretty steep pitch, so I think it will be ok. Last night, when I was scared to light the pilot light alone, I thought why did I buy a house, wouldn't it be better to just have called a landlord? This winter is really messing with my head, but I don't think I'm alone.

I've got 2 1/2 weeks til disney, and I still have 5 pounds to lose. I'll cut up a big bowl of fruit today.

Not to be a saboteur, but did anyone know it is " National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day" One of the local ice cream places is having a fundraiser this morning from 8-12 and selling all funky breakfast type icecreams, one has bacon in it. That's why we bought some ice cream last night, and I will have a little with ds this morning with my fruit. Sue, if your interested it's Cherry Farm having the event.

"Behave yourself, you have to set a good example for mikamah."
:rotfl2:LTSIt definitely gets tougher the longer we go. It's so cyclical during the year too, I know once the weather starts to warm up, I'll tend to get out and move more, and get remotivated. Hope you had a good dinner out.

MickeySP- Thanks for coaching this week!!:flower3:

Have a nice weekend everyone!!

Yawn.... Good Morning. I slept so late today, and now that I am awake...I'm not really awake.....

We had chinese food last night from a new restaurant in the neighborhood. It was good & I definately went over in calories for the day, but it was nice after staying on plan all week.

I'll hop on the bike in a while & see if I can burn some of it back off.Its another lovely weather day in NJ...at least today it is rain & not snow. Lets hope it washes away some of the snow that has been on the ground since December :thumbsup2

Have a great day everyone!!!

:wave2: Good Afternoon. Slept late because I got in late last night. Down another pound this week. As long as I keep going with at least 1 a week I am happy.

We had a great time out and everyone kept saying "why didn't we do this sooner?" and "We need to do this again" so hopefully we can make it a monthly thing. I was sooooooooooo good. Mikamah, I avoided the chips again and kept thinking of you! I sat at the end of the table where I couldn't even reach them. I had a steak thing (tasted just like fajitas but not cut up) and it was really good. And for lunch I had a huge salad, at half there and brought the rest home for my afternoon snack .

Have to figure out our menu for the next week or so today and then we are going to go and hit the one grocery store chain we have never been to on the other side of town and see if their produce is any better than we are finding here.

Need to check with DH on his plans for tomorrow. Tradition calls for a bag of Doritos for the SuperBowl so we need to figure out some other options.

So far my little daily planner thing I bought at Walmart is working great for journaling. I have plans to jazz it up with some of my scrapbooking stuff but keep putting it off. Maybe during the game tomorrow.

I"m new here and have been lurking a bit on and off for the past week or so. I guess it's time to jump right in...

:welcome: Jump on in, great to have you here!

I may have some wrenches thrown in my plans here before too many more months. Hopefully I don't get thrown off plan with eating and exercising if they come about.

LTS,
I've never really had a girls' night out. I don't feel like I'm missing anything because I'm not into that sort of thing. Bars and drinks I mean. It is nice to get out and have a night of our own from time to time.

 So sorry that things are rough. It is hard to keep those good habits when life is throwing you so many curveballs. Just remember when chaos is reigning fight back by keeping control with those good habits.

We usually just go out to dinner at a chain type place like Friday's or Outback-- somewhere that does serve drinks for those that wish. Everyone at the table but me had a large Margarita and that was about it. In the past the key considerations in picking somewhere was that they serve drinks and have awesome desserts! I am sooooooo glad we don't have a Cheesecake Factory here--the desserts would kill me! Friend next to me ordered Fried Ice Cream and I wanted to stab her with my fork and steal it!

UH OH Team Donald! Team Mickey has taken a 13 pound lead so far!!!
Come on, you don't want to lose again this week!
Well, actually we DO want to lose this week-- so we can WIN the challenge this week! ;)
:rotfl:

drive by posting, we are having another DIS crop in the scrapbook section.
OK, yeah I've been inhaling way to much scrap glue!!!! LOL Or it was the happy hour meet and greet we had at the crop. :rolleyes1
Let me know when you have the next one, I would love to join in.

New here!! Hello, everyone! Thought I would swing by and introduce myself! My name is Mandie Jo :)
Looking forward to getting to know everyone! Looks like I have a lot of reading and catching up to do!!
:welcome: Don't bother trying to read and catch up if you don't want to. Just jump in from here. Great to have you here!

:woohoo: Setting a good example. . . ;)

I thought why did I buy a house, wouldn't it be better to just have called a landlord? This winter is really messing with my head, but I don't think I'm alone.
Because a Landlord can say okay we will get to it in a day or so. Since you have the control you can get things done on your terms. :) And because with a house you can hang pictures anywhere you want!:rotfl2: DH and I hated not being able to put nails in the walls in our apartments.

:rotfl2:LTSIt definitely gets tougher the longer we go. It's so cyclical during the year too, I know once the weather starts to warm up, I'll tend to get out and move more, and get remotivated.
The funny thing is that I actually find summer much harder to manage because we lose all routine and schedule. The school year is so much easier for me. We end up running all over and at Swim Meets and out with friends and doing so much on the go in the summer it is much harder for me to stick with things. I am really going to work on that for this summer.

I think I may have figured out what is wrong with my stomach. I had a headache when got in last night and as I grabbed some Ibuprofen I realized I had been taking it quite a bit lately (2-3x a day) because my hip is really bothering me, particularly since I have been doing some exercise. I have had problems in the past if I take it too long so I think I've probably messed up my stomach with it again. Switching to some stomach friendlier stuff and will call the dr on Monday to discuss it.

Way to go!! :cool1: It does make a huge difference when things are out of reach. You should be so proud of yourself. I'm very proud of you, and so inspired.
Friend next to me ordered Fried Ice Cream and I wanted to stab her with my fork and steal it!
:rotfl2:Glad there was no bloodshed.

So true. I actually love owning my home, and it's only occassionally I feel overwhelmed. It's getting a lot easier now that ds is getting older too.

Tt's such a bummer Ibuprofen works so well, but it's so tough on the stomach. Hope your doc will have some suggestions for you.

Enjoy your quiet day at work.;) I'm sure dh will appreciate having you home once tax season is over. It looks like we should get mostly rain, with some freezing rain, and tomorrow is looking nice, 38. I just wish there was somewhere outside to walk. The roads are such a mess. Have a nice visit with MIL.

Good Our streets are so narrow because of the buildup of snow there is no where safe to walk.
Isn't so frustrating. They've been coming around our town with a huge snowblower type thing and shaving down the snowbanks to widen the road. there's still a couple inches of snow left, so it doesn't help for walking, but it will help a ton with the cars.

.Its another lovely weather day in NJ...at least today it is rain & not snow. Lets hope it washes away some of the snow that has been on the ground since December.
So true. I've never been so excited to hear we were going to get some rain.:rotfl2:

I borrowed my friends roof rake and raked some snow off my porches, garage and the bottom of the main roof. I hope it will help prevent the ice from building up further and getting leaks. I know too many people with roof leaks these days, and there's not a lot to do for them. People from work were talking about putting rock salt in a pantyhose, and laying it across the gutter, or wherever you have a big ice dam. That's if you can find rock salt. None in any home depot or lowes around here. Spring, spring, I'm anxiously awaiting your arrival.

We were going to have a relaxing do nothing afternoon, but I just remembered we're supposed to go to a mass for my sil's mom, so we'll do that, and I thought I'd come and get some motivation to stay away from all the dips that will be at her house after. I can do it. I had my treat on thursday, and tomorrow is my long run/walk, so I need to be healthy today.

Have a nice evening, Donalds!!

Lovetoscrap- I love the way you think!!!!

Come on TEAM DONALD! Mickey is leading by about 8 pounds right now!!!! Keep those weigh ins coming!!!!!

TTFN :tigger:

Hi Donalds!

Forgot to weigh in again today, I will make sure I remember to tomorrow even if I have to tie a string around my finger!

Just got back from Target and I picked up Bob Harper's 10lb contoured kettle bell that comes with a workout dvd. I am excited to try this out as I have heard many good things about it and have always wanted to try it since it is different and seems like it would be something fun that I could incorporate into my routine and stick to it. I get very bored easily and have to do different activities for working out or I get too bored and don't work out!

Has anyone done these workouts before? Did you like them or not, positives and negatives appreciated? Did you notice a difference in either weight muscle tone/strength or both?

Thanks guys, hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!

How much were they? I like Bob's workouts a lot!!!! I haven't purchased Kettle bells but may if I hear enough good things about them. The BL Power Walk DVD is awesome! I need to get some medicine balls as well.

TTFN :tigger:

I just had to say:

I'm so proud of all of you that continue to post and work hard despite good weeks and bad weeks! We all have them! It has taken me two years to get where I am today! It hasn't always been easy! The love and support of everyone here makes everyday worth it! Stick with it and you will succeed!!!!!!

I'm still here and struggling every hour - usually failing - to get back on track. I just can't seem to get my head or heart around the new WW plan, my Bugg or anything. And it is driving me NUTS!!!

I haven't been able to walk hardly at all due to weather....cold I don't mind, but the wind here has been ferocious this last month. I need to get my butt and my kids in gear & get my office/Future DSil's weekend bedroom , cleaned out so I have room to exercise....IF the stupid computer's DVD player will keep working.

Just tons of little issues that keep distracting me.

I have literally DOZENS of workout DVD's, an elliptical that the kids always unplug and I can't move the furniture to plug back in, a Wii, and Kinect.....WHY CAN'T I GET MY HEAD TOGETHER!?!?!?!?!?!? I was within 30lbs of my ultimate goal and less than 20 to my WW goal, Now, I'm up to more like 40 & 30.

All I want is the vicious cycle of sweet, salty, sweet, salty and am doing no good at saying 'No'.

Ok, done with my pity party vent. I'm coaching next week, so maybe forcing myself to be on here and getting motivated by all of you will give me a kick start. I can hope. I manage to get on, read a few & never post. Not good.

Off to finish dinner.....baked chicken & baked potato....but I'm the only one home to eat, so me & the dogs......my best friends!

Maintained again this week. Can't boo hoo too much, I've not been working as hard. And I confess that i ate a store bought cupcake today... It was so good, but I think I actually don't need another one. Moderation, what a concept!

Anyone watching all the specials and shows on heart disease in women this weekend? (Don't know if anyone discussed this earlier, I haven't been keeping up with you every day.) Reminds me that my health is more than what size jeans I can fit into or how I'll look in the photos on my next Disney trip. Been a really good gut check.

Now, if I could only get rid of this gut...:lmao: And that's why I'm here!:lmao::lmao:

So, I haven't told DH or the kids that I have been exercising when I can. I just need that to be something I am doing for me only right now. No concerned advice or questions from the family, KWIM? But I have been SOOOOOO sore the last 2 weeks I think they are starting to get worried! They are used to me being a bit slow and saying "ow" with my foot and hip problems but now it is pretty much constant when I reach (arms) and bend (abs) and everything else I do. Poor hubby is going to be dragging me to the dr if I don't get over this initial painful stage soon!:rotfl2:

I get very bored easily and have to do different activities for working out or I get too bored and don't work out!
That is funny because I am a "routine" kind of person and actually went and dug out my OLD VHS workout tape from the 80's because I just wanted the familiar. As soon as that synthesizer music started I felt "comfortable" and could even now remember what was coming up and what she was going to say next. I like to stick with the same thing.

The diet and exercise industry is huge and it is great that those love a change and get bored can find something and those of us that just have to work out to spandex leotards and legwarmers can too!

I'm still here and struggling every hour - usually failing - to get back on track. I just can't seem to get my head or heart around the new WW plan, my Bugg or anything. And it is driving me NUTS!!!

 What about just making some smaller changes for the short term? Like Yunchman said maybe you need to break out of the same old same old boring routine of bad habits and of the better habits. Pick a few small changes to stick to like give up sugar drinks, or add in more water or rid the house of all the salty. Maybe even look into some other "diet" plans and try a new one for a while. I think sometimes when I get too comfortable with a plan then it becomes easy to ignore. When I am trying to learn and stick to something new then I put more focus and effort into it.
Hang in there. :)

Maintained again this week.:

stayed the same this week :(
at least I didn't gain
:cheer2: Maintaining is still a great result. :cheer2:

:banana:Everyone get those healthy habits sent in this week! I KNOW that everyone managed to eat 2 servings of protein at least ONCE this week so send that in!!!

I have to go update my journal. Everyone have a great night and send those Weight and HH PMs in!:goodvibes
