Team Canada’s Paris Olympic Apparel - What the Heck?!?

They should have stuck with Roots. I still have an exercise ensemble from the 2008 Olympics that I bought at The Bay. It has a subtle Chinese design that's very pretty.

Have you seen the Mongolians' uniforms? They're gorgeous.

Canada's teams always seem to go with an edgier vibe; sometimes it works, and well, sometimes it doesn't.

Looks like they either didn't separate their clothes when pouring bleach into the washing machine or a tie-die effort gone bad.............LOL.

Oh my. I've heard that there has been extra efforts put into the team gear this year because the games are in the "home" of fashion.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem like Canada got cc'd on the same memo Mongolia did.

We love our favorite sibling anyway and will still proudly root for them.

Going way back, I liked Canada’s uniforms for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillihamer.

I’m not sure what look they were going for with these.

I agree the current look is hideous.

Well, no one will ever accuse me of being a fashionista but.....I don't get it either.

Team USA's are kind of boring. They look like they are part of the pit crew for the Daytona 500 but they get the job done and they aren't hideous so I guess that's good.

I agree re Mongolians’ uniforms. I just wonder how toasty it will be!

Those are pretty. But isn't the real question here what the oiled man from Tonga will be wearing? Wasn't that where he was from?

I don't remember those, but seeing them now, they are a little too "Russian Cosack'y" for my personal taste. I think it's the hats. ;)

This is how they marched into the Opening Ceremonies in Calgary '88. Still more of a costume than a uniform, but at least it made sense in the context.

Looking back over the years, it seems Canada just really can't seem to nail the fashion aspect of the Olympic spectacle. Our (all equally bad) choices have been:
BORING - London 2012

RIDICULOUS - Atlanta 1996

SUBLIME - Barcelona 1992

There was an article on "best outfits" for this year's Olympics and Canada featured in the top 10. I had to check that it wasn't the Onion or Beaverton.

I should have made clear that the ones I've seen are their outfits for the opening ceremony, not their competition wear.

The Canadian outfits at the top of this thread are apparently their athletic clothing, as are the USA outfits a little upthread. The USA's opening ceremony outfits were designed by Ralph Lauren and are very preppy.

Do you happen to know if these are actual members of Team USA or models? That is one extremely attractive group! :thumbsup2
