Ok, I'm the slacker this time. Nothing official to report however I am feeling SO much better! Was able to do some light gardening this weekend and am moving around like a human again. Will get out for a walk this eve - just nice and casual.

Amy - glad you're feeling better! Hope it stays that way now!

Scott - where the heck are you??

Hi Everybody

We just returned from Normandie and Mt. Saint Michel, and I am up to date on the numbers to this point.

I'll have more later, but it's 10 pm and we drove a good 350 miles around NW France today.

Cheers

Craig

Hi Team,

Training is going well, but I was away for 4 days and then buried for the last 2, so I've just finally made it on here to post my end of May numbers.

May 22-31
hours 6.25
miles 30.1

I even did some running outside (which went surprisingly well) at the end of May. My long runs are now up to 6 miles. Only 4.5 weeks until my 10k race.

Hope everyone is doing well, and enjoying the (almost) summer!

Hey Team! Just wanted to post my miles/hours while I have a free minute (and since I'm late getting the data in).

May 22-31:

Miles: 132
Hours: 11.75

Hope everyone's having a good week!

Steve

Hello Everyone

I have the numbers up to here in the May books. Thanks all for the information.

I've run precisely twice since I arrived, and I'd planned a lot more. With Lesley and her pseudo-cousin, and then Martha and her dad here, I've done a ton of walking, and have been tired at the end of every day. So I have big miles and time, at least for me, but only 2 runs.

Last friday I ran down to the Seine, up it about 3 miles, and back down. The views would have been great, except I did it at 5 pm Friday, so mostly I was trying not to bump into the thousands of people along the Seine, or get run over by the cars, busses, and scooters, thousands of them too. Those scooters are really dangerous, they don't worry about lanes, roads, gutters, whatever.

We were in Normandy, at the American landing beaches and the American cemetary on Sunday/Monday, and at Mount Saint Michel Monday. Martha and I had been at Omaha Beach and the cemetary in 1998, and this was her dad's first trip up there. It's really overwhelming to see 9400+ Crosses and stars of David and then walk down to the beach and see what really young Americans faced precisely 64 years ago today. They landed at low tide and walked across at least 1/4 of sand, then up a good 1/4 mile of hills and ravines to get off the beach. All while being fired at by every type of weapon the Germans had. Honestly, I don't know how they did it. The hardest part is thinking about the average age in the cemetary. I suspect the privates averaged less than 20, and the lieutenants maybe 22. Effectively the same age as my undergraduates, too young.

So anyway, I'll return with legs that aren't too out of shape, but my CV system will be way soft.

Best to all of you.

Craig

Hello Rich

Here is the link to the master scoresheet:

I update our part every few days. As you can see from the overall results, we are 1 of 3 teams with with +/- 7000 total miles so far. So here is an APB for our missing rabbits:

I know life gets us from time to time. If you've been pulled away and haven't checked in with stories and numbers for a while, please do so. Don't think we'll be upset with your reappearance after your time away. The reverse is true, we'll be thrilled to hear from you.

Craig
