Team 8 Jessica's Rabbits Bios and Info

Hi Team...

Wow you guys are putting up great numbers!! :)

Wasn't my best week...but then again I wasn't feeling well most of the week so I had to take two rest days. I'm happy to report that I'm feeling much better!

Miles: 25
Hours: 9.375

Have a great weekend everyone! :thumbsup2

swim-mom: so sorry to here PT is killing you but hope it's working! Great job on adding 4 miles to it all! Yes, I agree that PT counts for the week's totals; it certainly is a workout! :thumbsup2

It is tough to find that line between good and effective PT vs. too much work. Good luck with it.

[/QUOTE]

Thanks for your kind words and understanding about PT. The reason why PT is so hard, is because I have no upper body strength. On my eval. I have less than 10% upper body strength for someone my age (33). Which means that in order to strengthen my neck they have to increase my upper body strength. Hence, the weights and the rest of the torture........not complaining :rolleyes1

I refuse to stop running, so I just have to manage......no biggie (I hope)

Miles: 82.52
Hours: 9.35

So it turns out that I really can run faster if I do not take all those walk breaks. I have been feeling really good this past week and even did an almost 9 mpm pace on one of my workouts for 5 miles!!!!!! This is a huge deal considering I really just started training to run in Feb, after the half Marathon. For those who did not get to read my race report for Martian it went really well, I PR'd by 43 minutes and had a bunch of fun just doing it. I really enjoyed seeing my WISH friends and it helped keep me from going insane training wise. Plus I am getting more comfortable on my bike so I have been racking up huge numbers there. Thank you for all of your encouragement.

And raring to go !

Good week to all !

Evening Everyone

I have all the data up to this point. Thanks for all the good work. As a group we are so bloody consistent, it's quite remarkable. Look at the numbers everyone is putting up, they are steady, every week.

I see the master sheet has the next reporting period April 18 through 30. Would you all be okay sending me your numbers for Saturday April 19 through Friday April 25? And then Saturday April 26 through Wednesday April 30?

This would allow me to dump in good numbers half way through the reporting week, and then update then for the last 5 days. I suspect we'll look great in the interim report.

And by the way, we look great anyway. Our grand, grand total is 4076, and we're the only group over 4000. O'Hana is closest at 3990, due to the Yoeman's work of Debra, the lovely DKP.

Hey guys! I'm not even going to make excuses anymore for my absentee-ism. It really isn't that I dislike all of you (although you all really do smell, take a shower sometime :) ). It really has been a crazy several weeks at work, home, etc.

So here are my miles from last week:

65.5 miles
7.5 hours

I see that Krista is ahead of me in total posts for the week, especially on the main weekly thread. I guess she's decided to be social again, which makes me look even worse. Thanks dear! ;)

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Craig--you totally confused me with the dates and what miles we're supposed to give you for next week (I'll be honest--I read it quickly and I'm too lazy to go back and read again!), so I'm just going to post my miles on an hourly basis from now on. :thumbsup2

Have a great week, guys!

HI AmyBeth - My df Kim-wim, told me to find you ;)

I have been having some problems with my leg, when I run and even afterwards. The bone from my knee to my ankle (inner side) is very sore when I run for the first 1/2 mile or so. The remainder of my run it is OK (that could be from the motrin I take for my neck, prior to running though).

I do stretch using my total gym before I run, and it does not make a differance with my leg. After running, I have been icing it but it is still tender to the touch.

I ran on Sun and my leg is still sore, but not tender. Do you know of anything that can help me?

Sorry to be a pain, but I enjoy running but the pain in the beginning is crazy.

Thank you SO SO much :goodvibes :goodvibes

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah! Whatever!! Keep on bragging!! ;)

Hi guys! I will post my numbers from last week today when i get home from work -- i left work early friday being sick and spent the whole weekend sick.. :(
But, i will post them later -- and they are my best ever! :)

Hi Bunnies! How's everyone doing this evening?

I joined a new gym this weekend. Got tired of the old one and their shinanigans. So far, and there is still more days this week, I'm posting the following numbers.

22.5 miles
3.5 hours

Still respectable.

Hope y'all have a wonderful day tomorrow!

Hi Team!

I am planning to start a marathon training program after the Minnie 15K. I like the longer distance. I am a relatively slow runner, but am still a Wascly-Wabbit, thanks to our team!

April 12-18

32 miles
5.33 hours

It will be great to see some of the Rabbits at the Minnie Marathon Weekend.

swim-mom: It sounds like maybe you have shin splints!!! The other possibility is tendonitis. Either way I think you may need to rest it for a few days...ice...motrin (which you are already doing) and massage the muscle tendon area. I think it's probably more likely to be shin splints! How long have you had this issue? Is it worse or better if you stand on your toes? How about weight on the heels? Just trying to see if I can figure it out. I've had many issues with this part of my leg unfortunately. Hang in there...it's probably easily remedied with some rest....let's see with further information if we can't figure out the culprit!

Hi Amy :) My leg does not hurt standing on my toes or on my heals. I only run 3 days a week right now, due to 2 disc herinations in my neck. I have PT now for my neck and I do 6 miles extra a week on the bike. However, my leg has been bothering me since before PT  For what ever reason, it only hurts the first 1/2 mile (with a heavy feeling too).

I know strange right!?!

These are my numbers from LAST week -- thanks
21.0 miles
3.25 hours

Hi Team,

My numbers for April 19-25

hours 3.37
miles 18.4 (this includes a double 5K for the race I did last week)

I have had a pretty good week. They did not cancel the race last weekend. For those who missed my race report, here is the link:
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=24604517&postcount=35

It was a mighty cold day to say the least :scared1: but funny to tell the story to people

This week, I start training for the 10K that I'm signed up for in July. Have a great week folks.

Hi bunnies :goodvibes

here are my hours -

mileage - 15.8

minutes - 285

Have a nice weekend everyone :)

Hello All

I am updated through here in the master sheet. As always, thanks for the numbers ("Thanks, for the memories, da dum dum dum de dum . . .").

I did my last real run before the Minnie 15K, and it was pretty good. Temps in the high 40's and the occasional shower made for good running. I was on the high school track and ran 7500 meters, half the distance, at an easy and comfortable pace. I learned this pace for me in ideal conditions is 9:20 per mile, so I'm feeling pretty comfortable headed for the 15,000 meters. As long as the weather isn't too horrible (current L-R forecast in the 60's and super humid as always, sigh), that same pace should be a breeze and brings me in around 87 minutes.

Of course, I'd so much like to finish in the 83's or even 82's. It will be good to get out there and get a result. I need to remember in the first 3 miles that I want to RUN the last 9+ miles of the marathon course. I must be smart and make sure I don't implode out there if it's hot and killer humid.

See some of you this weekend.

Craig

Morning Team!

My numbers for week ending April 25:
Miles 37.23
Hours 5.8

Also a bit concerned about the humidity for Minnie but can only do my best, right? Feeling pretty good about it just need to take a easy this week versus what I want to do.

Later!
