Team 8 Jessica's Rabbits Bios and Info

Hi teammates!

Sorry for the late posting but it was a busy weekend around here.
Did manage to get in some decent numbers:

Miles 25.43
Hours 4:25

This week will be on the short side as short a day and we leave for WDW on Thursday afternoon so won't get anything in that day. However we are doing a 5K on Saturday so that'll count as double!

Hellooooo Team !!!!

Was a pretty good week here in the frozen midwest..
42.29 miles
5 hours.
As Liz said, this week will be a slower one, but will have Event miles next saturday, so we Double-up !

We actually got some outdoor miles/time for this new week. Those always feel better.
Especially when the Road Bicycle can get sprung from the garage and ridden for some of the miles on Sunday. That sure felt good !

Have a good week, y'all !

Patrick

Hey, team! Sorry for the absence and lack of participation...I guess the statement "life gets in the way" kinda fits here. I will now be able to contribute. After some minor surgery I got the green light (just this morning)from my doc to move forward and use my best judgement.

Now, back to catching up with what everyone's been up to...

Hi Craig...

Quick question...for our current week will we report miles/hours from Sat-Fri since we added the Friday totals in last week? Or will we go back to ending on Thurs and only reporting up until that day. Thanks :).

Amy

Thanks for the information everyone. I have it in "the sheet."

Amy (and everyone else!)

The master score sheet (created by Darcey) shows the first week in March ending on March 7. So I'll need your miles and hours for Saturday, March 1 to Friday, March 7.

Also, congratulations are in order for the team. With the data I've just put into the score sheet, we're about 200 miles in front, and very competitive in hours. We have lots of folks doing big bike and running miles.

It is pretty funny, however, that I had a great week last week, 3 nice runs, all easy, effortless, and pretty quick. But since I had 1 less bike session my mileage actually fell!

Best

Craig

:thumbsup2 Hello Rabbits,

Jeff - -Awesome job on your Sarasota Half PR!! :woohoo: Do you do speed workouts? I could use some tips, as I am trying to improve my speed (gotta earn my namesake) :)

Yesterday, while taking a cross-country style run, a jack rabbit 'took off' out of some buck brush, not 15 fifteen feet in front of me. I was inspired, and I giggled, thinking of you all, my fellow hares.

Did you all see the photo of the bunny eating the cookie in a past post? What a great shot (now, which one of you has been lurking in my kitchen, camera in hand)?

RE: Training schedules -- There are lots of training schedules available online, but if anyone is loooking for a new one, please post up here and we could share them. I am trying a new one for this 15K (Minnie), and I will give you my feedback after the race.

I have tried several for half and full marathons, and have found ones that I have used for 2 prior years and am planning to follow again for the 2009 Goofy. So if you want a recommendation, please ask.

Finally, a tip on drinking out of paper cups during events... if you don't already, try pinching the top of the paper cup closed to reduce the diameter of the opening to just the size of your mouth opened about as much as necessary to eat a cashew (mmmm). I haven't choked on fluids or bathed myself with powerade since I began employing this technique.:thumbsup2

How many of us Rabbits are running the Minnie 15K? Looking forward to our next gathering :goodvibes

Take care, and have fun walking and running, riding, swimming, and pilate-ing!! Yoga-ing, too!

Teri

Hi Teri!

Quite a few of us are running the Minnie 15K...

I will be there and hope to run a strong race (for me). I'm following a modified Half Marathon training with lots of bike miles added as XT. Just started adding serious speed work and hill repeats. I'm NOT fast at all...but trying to run a consistent strong pace for me :). Somewhere between 8:30 and 9:00 mpm. The good news is I'm guaranteed a PR since it's my first ever 15K.

Others running from our team are Scott (Scojo15); Craig (Calcio); Martha (Red Dragon); Darcey; possibly Jeff (Bigger Tigger??...Jeff are you?) and that's all I can think of for now. NICE showing for sure for the rabbits though! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Amy!

That's at least six of Jessica's Bunch at WDW in May. Where is the pre-event weekend meet? Has it been decided upon yet? I was trying to get up to date by reading past posts on the Minnie thread, but I couldn't discern if an outcome had been reached yet.

Thanks in advance for the details if you know! Otherwise, I will take some time later in the week to try and figure it out.

Teri

Well I some not so good news to report. My training this week is being upset by the flu for the second time. Even after having the flu shot. I will try to get a little bit in but I am not going to make any promises. Be healthy.
Erin

 Erin!

So sorry to hear that you're ailing. Take really good care of yourself, and we'll do some extra miles for you (until you're back up and hoppin'), so don't worry.

Sleep, you must.

Teri

Erin--so sorry to hear about the flu. Take it easy on yourself and get well soon!

Craig--too funny about your mileage actually going down for a good week! I know what you mean. Missing a bike session or two really counts against (or for) that mileage.

Great job for the month of February, team!

Steve

Since I had vertigo last week - I could not do anything...did I already report nothing for last week or was that two weeks ago - this has been going on for a while and my weeks have blurred togehter...

If I still need to report for last week .... I can give you my hubby's miles and minutes... he didn't do much as he was taking care of me but he had 4 miles and two hours...

Helen: Please tell me that you ain't hunting REAL koalas...that's some euphanism for bar-hopping or something, right?

Liz: excited that you're coming to the Promised Land (WDW) on Thursday! Definitely check out the newly refurbished Spaceship Earth ride at Epcot - the animatronics are so much better now.

Erin: hope you're feeling better, my Pace Buddy. It seems like one of those 'everyone's got it' seasons. You'll be back up to speed in no time, and you'll whack your sister's time with minutes to spare ;)

Patrick: great mileage! I can't imagine even going outside with as cold as it is out there, so hats (or tukes?) off to you! :worship:

Teri: Golly, thanks for the compliment on the run; I'm happy with it! I have not done much speed work, as I've been focusing on distance up until now. When I do some speed work, though, I pick one of my early intervals in the run and run fast enough to be just out of breath. I then do the same on one of the later intervals toward the end. Somewhere I read about that technique and I think it's helped me a bit.

Amy: Unfortunately I am not doing Minnie :sad1: DW (Chimera) and DD15 are doing it, but I have to be at a work function that weekend that I can't get out of. I'm SO going to miss seeing everyone. :guilty:

- Jeff

Jeff - we were there for the marathon weekend and did Spaceship Earth. The scenes are much improved but do wish it was still Jeremy Irons doing the narration.

Hi Team :)

I have to admit that I won't be contributing as many miles this week :(. Unfortunately my old hip injury decided to flare up last night and I've been in some fair amount of pain ever since. It's a touchy thing but now that I'm a little older and wiser ;) I've learned that the best thing to do is get to my chiropractor ASAP and rest a bit. So tonight I'll be watching some AI and taking a bit of a break. Between the hip issue and a training conference that kept me busy all this past weekend...my miles are going to STINK. :sad2:

Fortunately my hours will be ok...but I'm still disappointed none the less.

I hope everyone is doing great this week.

Erin...Hope you're feeling well! Sending some well wishes your way!!! :goodvibes

Jeff....Wanted to shout out CONGRATS to you here on the team thread. Awesome job with your PR this weekend in the half. Your fellow rabbits are PROUD!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Darcey....I hope everything is ok!!! No sorries here...just get yourself better!

Good morning team mates!

Just popping in to say GO TEAM and hope everyone has a great weekend. We leave today for WDW and doing the 5K at Epcot Saturday (yay double miles!) Managed to get in a nice 9 mile bike this morning, too.

Won't be able to post this week's miles/hours until Monday since I'm not taking the laptop for just the weekend.

Now to finish packing....

Have a good one!

Thanks, Amy, for the congrats and encouragement. I have to say y'all play an important part in my training....Sometimes the rabbits provide just enough motivation to get on the treadmill at 9:45 at night and eek out a 45-minute run, when I feel SO much like crashing and eating some PEEPS! :rotfl:

- Jeff

Ok...we're back to normal, right? Posting weeks that run Fri-Thurs?? Of course this week would be the exception since Friday's went on last month's numbers...

Anyway, here are my numbers for the Sat-Thurs short week:

Total miles: 33.65
Total hours: 5:50:55

Included: elliptical, stationary bike, pilates and running

Not cycling last weekend, the loss of a day, along with running more than XT, totally killed my miles. Sorry team! I'll be back strong next week :)

Luckily I'm not doing that 10k tomorrow (would have only been 12.4 miles) and can accumulate more miles and hours doing my own thing. (isn't that a shame? something not right about that picture)

Hope everyone is doing well

I thought we were now doing Sat - Fri hours. I guess it really doesn't matter as long as we are consistent as individuals and our monthly totals come out accurate.

I did a walk/run today - still trying to transition from only walking. My shins always hurt when I run. I iced them today when I got home so hopefully I'll be pain free. I'm still not sure if I'll continue to try to incorporate running in the mix or stick with walking in my training for the Minnnie.

I did have my fastest mile ever today!!!:cool1:

My totals for the week...

Time: 268 minutes / 4:28
Miles: 27.5

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Kathy
