Jeanne: Sweet Monkey Sundae! That's some eye candy! And you know I'm talking about you ladies, too!

Why is "Tall and Tan and Young and Handsome" running through my head?

I second Julie's call for stories, preferably involving rum, hot towels, and steamy sights.
JenB: Yay for signing up for the ING Phila Half! How far is it from your neck of the woods there? (I'm in Pgh, and wonder if the drive from NJ is shorter, because I contemplated doing the ING this year, but decided the drive and my schedule wasn't a good mix.) I hope you will give us a complete RR, as I'd be interested in knowing if it's worth the drive. (Not that your race is all about me, I'm genuinely interested in your experiences.) Oh, and congrats on doing the DL 1/2.
Nancy: You know, when I was reading Twilight, I kept thinking it would make a very visually interesting movie. I guess I have film on the brain. I'm actually okay with waiting on the series because my reading time has been cut down quite a bit--so I'll just run through my library holds. Right now, I'm reading Evanovich #4, the title escapes me. Isn't Charlaine Harris the author behind the True Blood series that's been adapted by HBO?
In terms of your XT, I've been thinking about your experiences a lot recently. I've dumped a lot of XT recently--scheduling rather than intentionally--and have noticed many more aches and pains than I normally have. I really think that XT makes us better walkers and runners and just stronger overall. I've been playing with rearranging my training program to get back to more XT, even if it means less running and walking. Then I read your post, and I thought, "Nancy's right! That's just the way I feel, too." So thank you, thank you, for being my outer voice of reason. You said just what I needed to hear.

This grasshopper has much to learn.
Richard: I most certainly hope Ike didn't hit you--or anyone you know who lives closer to the harder hit areas. Do let us know that you're doing okay. In better news, congratulations on your running recovery--it sounds like you're doing well, and you certainly deserve the break. I assume you're feeling pretty good about the runs, not in pain, and strong form, and all? I can already tell you're leaving me in the dust with the training! (I have yet to say after a 10 miler that I feel I'm just about back in the swing of things.)
As for me: 10 miler today, but not feeling about it the way Richard felt about his. Like I mentioned above to Nancy, I really need to recommit to XT and working out much more consistently. Otherwise, my sedentary life catches up to my tortoise pace and overtakes it. Not cool. I'll be switching up my training plan with a focus on more XT in mind, and will keep you all informed.
But speaking of cool, today was the first movie I've seen (outside teaching) in 3 weeks.
Burn After Reading. It's fluffy stuff, and was a great treat on a rainy afternoon post-LR, which describes today. And then I made Nestle Toll-House chocolate-chip cookies. Tell me, is there anything better than that recipe--how can one improve upon perfection?
No, seriously. Has anyone found a way to improve upon the Toll-House recipe. Because cookies makes my mouth water, and if you have got a better recipe than that I might very well kiss your running shoes.
Oh, and to all my
Ohana Cousins. You didn't get rid of me so easily. I'm back, and wanting to hear from all of you!
