Teacups closing in September

Tiggies - at least (if it's still the case) it's a surprise for DD, so presumably you won't have been building up expectations of the tea cups...

True. Still a surprise (I hope ). I doubt she would be able to keep quiet if she suspected anything. I didn't really think of it in terms of building expectations. I got all bent on the fact that I can't prepare her for them not being there. At least it's not Splash Mountain though - that would warrant changing dates

It's not so much the ride - DH makes it spin far to fast for me- it's more our photo album - with pictures of the children on the teacups on our last 5 Disney trips.

Where are you staying Suzybear - I arrive a couple of days after you - and am also a Sussex person a couple of miles from Brighton!

Maybe you could sneek the kids into a cup when the workmen aren't looking and take a quick snap?

We're staying at ASMovies as that's where my kids wanted to stay. They are only 7 & 8 yrs old and it's their first time to WDW so we're going ott with the Disney theming! lol

Maybe we'll see you around the parks...or is there going to be a UK Dis meeting while we are there?

Ohh nooo! You just revealed the one big hole in my planning!! I knew the Fantasyland refurb was going on but didn't even think about checking some of the tamer rides for DD4 --- guess I better start checking it out!

A little OT on here, but that is a great age to do a value for the theming. My DD loved ASMu last year(she had just turned 7) and I think she got a lot out of the theming. I had my reservations at times about a value but I had a wonderful time. We are never really in our room except to shower and sleep and even so, with only 2 of us we had more than enough space. Your kids will love it - and so will you!

And as for the teacups: they will be there next time!

We went in January this year so Splash Mountain was closed, my daughters favourite ride at MK. She didn't get upset about it though, she said aww, but then she just asked if we could go to space mountain instead. Her disappointment lasted about 2 seconds.

I was looking through my old pictures last night and thought I should be thankful we should still get a last visit to Mickey and Minnie's houses. This has to be one of my favourite photos from Minnie's house - I was unaware of the expression on DD's face when I snapped it off, and only saw her eyes when I loaded it onto the laptop and saw the larger image.
