I had no problems checking in to the Dolphin last Nov. using the Teacher's Rate. I had a picture ID listing me as Faculty and a copy of a contract for one of my 2002 classes. I keep reading here that some CMs demand a Certificate from some state to allow the rate. I did get certified in NJ and taught high school there many moons ago. From what I understood at the time, the certification in NJ was for life. To finally get to my point, I can't find the certificate. Can someone point me to a web site or phone number for the NJ Education Department? I don't need to start a WDW vacation with an argument with a Dolphin desk clerk!

Hi Bill!

Here is the website for NJ department of Ed.

www.state.nj.us/education/

You should get all of the info that you need from it, but if you do need to contact someone, definetly call (numbers are on the site) I've emailed before and no one has gotten back to me. Hope this helps, and I really hope they can help you with your license.

By the way...where did you teach in NJ? I teach at Whippany Park High School in Whippany!

Maren,

Thanks for the link and the info. I taught at Grice Junior High in Hamilton Twp., near Trenton, longer ago than I care to admit!

Wow, Whippany Park, I went to high school right down the street from there at Morristown-Beard. Anyway, why not call the Dolphin and see if the ID you have is enough, that was if it is then you won't have to go through the hassle of contacting the NJDOE.

justhat,

I breezed through check-in last Nov. with my College Faculty picture ID and a copy of some paperwork, but still I read from time to time of others being asked for a teaching certificate. Quite a few tenured professors never get state certification, but I'd like to have this with me next time. I like to be prepared for any 'speed bumps' on the road to Disney!

It might be easier to email the Dolphin and ask them if you college ID is ok at check in. If you get a "yes, print out your email. I don't think they will give you a hard time if you have written permission from the staff.

gepetto,

Good suggestion. Dolphin/Starwood has been prompt in answering e-mails I've sent them in the past.

Bill--I am familiar with Hamilton Twsp. My fiancee went to the Pennington School which is in the vicinity. Again, good luck with getting the paperwork you need.

justhat--I'm also familiar with Morristown-Beard--it is very close by! I think we play MB in sporting events as well. Small world!
