Teachers-GOOD gift ideas!

My son is in middle school and we not only have several teachers but also the aides that work with them and the gym, music, art, computer etc. teachers. What I did last year was get a bunch of trays with little croissant sandwiches, cheese and a box of crackers, vegetables and dips and sent in plates, plastic ware, and toothpicks for the cheese. I think I also added in a few bottles of soda and cups. This year I am going to the bagel shop in town and having them make up a tray of mini bagles and different cream cheeses and maybe some muffins. I will also bring in orange juice and milk first thing in the morning when they start getting to school.

Im a portrait photog with my own studio and Im giving a session and holiday cards to DD5 kindergarten teacher and teachers assistant, Im giving it in Nov so they can make an appt, what do u think? If u were her teacher would u like this?(session would be of their own family, not of the teacher and just her assistant together in one pix,LOL)

That's a WONDERFUL gift!!!

My husband works part time with a photo studio (when he's not teaching) so we've never had to do the madness of Christmas photographs in a studio. But I've heard the horror stories.

I know the teachers with whom I work would LOVE the opportunity to have their Christmas pictures done!!! Just be sure to give them plenty of notice so they don't make early appointments elsewhere; we tend to be compulsive planners as a group.

5. If your child has wonderful teachers... TELL their principal! Most teachers do not like to toot their own horn so to speak. When my Principal has shared with me an email a parent sent praising me, I felt like a million bucks! Believe me, parents who are unhappy with a teacher will let a principal know, so even the principal appreciates good news!:cheer2:

Thanks to the awesome parents out there who have posted on this board. It gave me a warm feeling just reading about how thoughtful some of you are.

This is SO true! I have been teaching for 9 years and although my parents rave to me about how great I am, I have NEVER been called into the principal's office to be told that a parent has come in to praise me. It's always some little complaint that they didn't even speak to me about before going to the principal.:confused3 And then they give me that look when they bring in their child, like "I got you in trouble!" LOL

My favorite gifts are gift cards for any amount. They even have gc's at the Dollar Tree now, and most teachers I know go there quite a bit. My son has 4 male teachers this year(same ones as last year) and I gave them cash. Some people think that's tacky, but I heard no complaints. I put the cash in a nice card that I have written my appreciative comments on. I think I gave $10 each at Christmas last year and $20 each at the end of the year. I just budget it in over a few months.
