Teachers' Brunch - Menu ideas?

DS14 attends a Charter School. It is his first year outside of a "regular" public school. Every Wednesday, parents volunteer through the Hospitality Committee to bring in items for the Teachers' Brunch. Next Wednesday is my day. We are reimbursed up to $15, but I will not be asking for the money. I don't mind spending more, either.

There are 22 staff members that will enjoy the feast I bring for them. And with it being two days after Valentine's Day  , I wouldn't mind it being red and pink themed.

Anybody have some ideas besides donuts and bagels? :confused3

Did you want it to be finger foods? If so, you could do wraps, spring rolls, chicken satay, stuffed mushrooms, develied eggs, finger sandwiches...
If you want it to be desserts- you could do petite cheesecakes with either strawberry or cherry for red, cupcakes with pink frosting and heart sprinkles, strawberry milkshakes, and chocolate dipped strawberries.

I know we always love muffins and coffee and OJ. But we only get it if we bring it in. How great that your school thinks of the teachers. What a nice idea.

Quiche, fresh fruit salad, quick breads, breakfast casseroles.

If you want to do more of a lunch, you could do finger sandwiches, pasta salad, green salad, chocolate covered strawberries ore fruit and dip, veggies and dip. If the weather's still chilly, you could do a couple of different homemade soups and some French or Italian bread.

Salmon and capers?

I know it is not red and white, but it is still yummy.

Do they get to sit and eat? Or is it a "grab and go" type set up?

If it's a sit-down, I would do breakfast casserole (the bacon/egg/cheese/bread or sausage/egg/cheese/bread), fresh fruit (maybe with dip?), and assorted muffins.

Another big hit (here in TX) is breakfast burritos---egg, sausage, cheese in flour tortillas served with picante sauce. YUM!!!

If they won't have time to sit, I would do mini quiches, fruit, and assorted muffins.

You are so thoughtful to do this!!!

My biggest hit was breakfast pizza from a WDW recipe made on a Boboli or a loaf of French bread. It keeps well and can be eaten on the run.

I used to subscribe to Taste of Home, but now I just collect the hardbound cookbooks.

I think they have some great Valentine-associated recipes for a meal, snack, or dessert. You might want to do a search on their boards at http://bbs.reimanpub.com/bulletinboard.asp?view=head&headnum=2

You could just do basic foods and have a red or pink dessert.

HTH :flower:

Thanks All!

I believe it's a grab-n-go type thing. Possibly more of a breakfast, morning snack. I'm leaning toward the fresh fruit salad. Maybe strawberry or cherry muffins. OJ or other juice - ooh, how about straw/cranberry juice (it's red)
The breakfast pizza sounds interesting. The mini quiches are easy enough. And when I get a chance I'll check out the link in grlpwrd's post.

Thanks.
