Teacher Participation......

I think a majority this time are actually on your side!! I will forever be greatful for all that teachers already do for our children (and some of the things they have to put up with...which before anyone jumps I don't mean things mentioned on this thread)! I don't think they get paid anywhere near enough for what they do, or given enough credit for what they do. That is one of the reasons I am so involved in our school, I want to show the teachers how appreciative I am of THEM! So a big THANK-YOU to all the teachers that put their heart and soul into teaching our children!!

I am on "your side" too....if we are choosing. I think our school has OUTSTANDING teachers, just wishing they came to a few functions that's all!!!:rolleyes1

Yes. You did say that;)

I am not hostile in the least bit:confused3 I am just trying to understand why you were miffed that teachers did not come to a dance. Believe me, this is nothing to be hostile about.

Read the first post and see what I said.

Well, it is!

I am not trying to win votes. Difference of opinion, is what makes the world interesting. I just asked for some thoughts about the flip side and all of you run rampant......twisting things to fit! It's amusing!

WOW!!! All I can say to some of your most recent posts is WOW!! Feeling a little defensive are we?

Which means you do, indeed, care about who agrees with you.

Most of us get this;)

Read the first post and see what I said.

I know what you said. The people reading this know what you said. You said that MOST people on this thread are not involved at their child's school. Sigh. Prove me wrong. Please.

Honestly, if you were having such a fabulous time dancing with all the little kids that loved your witch costume, how did you even notice who was there and who wasn't? How did you keep track of who was there as a parent and NOT a teacher?

I would never notice who was not there if I was having a good time.

How bizarre.

I'm not feeling defensive at all??!!! Couldn't care less really.

It is just amusing at how everyone gets worked up......and it isn't me. Just enjoying....popcorn:: I love how seeing how people can twist things, to fit the point they are trying to make. It's almost becoming a little social experiment for me at this point!:woohoo:

Based on what you have said on this thread, I can see clearly how grateful and appreciative you are of them! :sad2:

But you probably wouldn't have been there to begin with!!

My sister and her husband are teachers. I very much respect what they do......which is why I volunteer as much as I can. To ease some of the workload.

Doesn't sound to me like a little social experiment. Sounds like you're just :stir:. Time to sign off to this thread & be happy that the PTA moms at my school are the wonderful moms that they are, without a hidden agenda. :teacher:

You are correct they have. I just always assumed, that teachers love children! But, maybe you're right, it's not fun for them. Perhaps the pay, benefits, pension, holidays are what entice them, as with any other job. But with any job, sometimes "extras" are asked of you and depending on the type of person you are, you will do it because you are asked, or you won't.

You are so condescending towards responses that you don't agree with it isn't any wonder why teachers don't partake in activities that you are involved with. You fail to see the reasons for teachers spending time with their own family and friends. It has nothing to do with their love of children or their job.

You people just can't handle a challenge! Period!

I'm signing off too......to those of you genuine posters, who took the time to post, thank you. I got some great ideas, about ways to perhaps increase teacher participation. I certainly don't want it to be a "job" for them to come.....and hopefully will put some of your ideas to work. :)

To the rest.....nice playing with you!!:lmao::rotfl2::banana::crazy2::hyper:
