DW Sue related to me an incident that occured at the high school yesterday. The 9th grade health class is studying cell mitosis and, as part of the coursework, the students are broken up into teams and each team puts on a skit about a certain aspect of cell biology. On one of these teams, a student (let's call her Susie) was picked for a specific team and given the assignment of writing the script for the skit. She was so happy about the assignment that she could not contain her excitement. The teacher must not have been thinking when he said (in front of the class) "Susie! Calm down. Don't have an orgasm."

For the rest of the day (and most likely the rest of the school year), that's all this poor girl heard in the hallways. The kids kept repeating what the teacher had said over and over again. Can you imagine what this poor 9th grader is going through?
This is not a rip on teachers thread. We all blurt out inappropriate things at times. At least I do. But I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, or get angry when I heard what happened. I certainly hope that my DD Sarah (or anyone elses DD) does not end up in this class. It is a shame that this had to happen and I feel badly for both the teacher and the student. But mostly for the student. Having spent most of my time in school being picked on, I tend to relate to the student's problems.
