What would be a good and easy teacher gift? I don't want to give them more junk. I can sew rather well and have an embroidery machine so crafty gifts would work too but they might be one of them they wish they didn't get.

Good ideas for a gift?

Totally impersonal but I always give teachers and swim coaches Target gift cards. There's something for everyone at Target.

As a teacher I LOVE getting a personal card from my students-I keep them all! Gift cards, even small amounts are appreciated too. Ask you child if the teacher has a favorite thing. Maybe it's a morning coffee or diet coke, favorite candy, hanging plant. For Christmas i had a parent bring be a case of diet coke- my favorite thing ever!!! It is so nice to be thought of and thanked at the end of the year.

I've gotten tea towels in the past, sometimes paired with matching pot holders or a nice liquid hand soap. My other go-to gift is a Target or Dunkin' Donuts/Starbucks gift card.

I agree about the notes. I love notes from kids and parents. I gave my son's teachers hanging baskets and small gift cards line for ice cream or subway.

My teachers are getting gift cards to Total Wine and More.

They've had to deal with my kids e v e r y single day, they deserve it !

(and, yes, I'm certain they'll gladly use it )

I agree with a gift card (even if it's just $5) and a hand written card from your child!

I think this year I'm going to do a simple bouquet of flowers and have my daughter write a thank you card. I am also going to write a note to the principle about how much I appreciate the teacher and the work she has done this year. (Even though I do not particular like this teacher.) I am also thinking about doing a small candy bouquet for the bus driver. I'm sure they do not receive gifts to often so hopefully it will be well received.

I always give a gift card. If I were a teacher, it's what I would want. Also a really nice note from the child.

For Christmas we did Wegmans, the best store ever. For end of year, we're doing the local restaurant the teachers go for happy hour. I know they go because I've seen them there :)

I did gift cards for all other gifts this year and they were well received. For end of the year gifts I did a beach towel, magazine, candy bar, Smart water, sunscreen, aloe, and gift card to Sonic.

I think you should get them a gift card. I like Target because then they can recoup some of their own money they spent on the class or buy something for themselves. I also like the idea of a Starbucks card, etc. so they can treat themself. I think it should be disposable because I can't imagine how many little trinkets they acquire throughout the year. So a hanging basket, a bird seed ornament (made in a cookie mold), or a gift card are what I would do. And yes, a personal card accompanying the gift would be great.

If you can sew and embroider I suggest a teacher bag. I know my MIL and SIL are always looking for new ones. Though I think we ended MIL's search with a Disney tote she loves.

Maybe in the school colors and with her name (Mrs Smith) embroidered on it.

Gift cards are always the answer. Love to get and give then. What i did last year for DS's wonderful kindergarten teacher was to make a gift card flower arrangement. I put foam in the bottom of a flower pot ($ store) and bought those sticks that you put cards in flowers on. I put the sticks into the foam and put a 5-10.00 gift card on each one. I used about 6, but you can use as many as you want. I also cut out a flower shape and put his picture on it, I covered the foam with pretty rocks. I gave cards to places they could get a summer treat for 5-10.00. Dairy Queen, Sweet Frog, Star Bucks, Mcdonalds, Book Store, and Taco Bell:laughing: as DS insisted. If you go to the business, you can mostly get cards for whatever amount you want. There are lots of ideas for gift card presentations on Pinterest too.

Other end of year gifts I have gotten and enjoyed:
Beach bags filled with summer goodies
hanging baskets
pedicure gift card
summer jewery

These gifts however, you need to know the person well enough to be sure that gift works for them.

I am always trilled to get a card, with a note of thanks and a picture of the child.....the best!!!!

DD(8) usually picks out or makes a card and writes something nice on it, then she usually will do a drawing to stick in the card or make one on the card itself. Inside the card, we do a gift card. Target is the go to card unless we know something specific about the teacher as pretty much anyone can find something at Target even if they use it for groceries. This year DD knew her teacher was a Starbucks addict, so she wanted to get her a Starbucks card. One year, DD had a teacher that she knew loved to go to the movies, so we bought a $1.00 popcorn holder (from Target- they still had them recently- they are the red and white ones make to look like the old time bags), and then we stuck a movie gift card in it with some junior mints(which we knew she liked at the movies) and microwave popcorn.

Costco had 4 Cold Stone Creamery gift cards ($10 each) for $27.99. I bought a packet of those and then went back for more and they were gone! They couldn't tell me whether or not they'd be getting them again, but that's an awesome deal. You might check your local Costco and see if they have them. I didn't see them online.

My kids are homeschooled so usually I dont have to worry about this subject but this year DS attended some special ed programs at the local ps so we did have a few teachers to gift.

DS absolutley adores the teacher he sees most often so he insisted on being very involved in picking out her gift.He came hoome the other day saying "Mom I asked her 6 qestions and 4 of the answers were choclate, should we maybe get her chocolate?" We bought her a large box of chocolates and a gc to a coffee shop. DS wanted to tell her they had good hot chocolate there so she "could have some chocolate with her chocolate if she wanted to." For the other teacher that DS didnt know as well we ended up with a gc to an ice cream place hopefully she likes it.

As a teacher, all gifts are wonderful, but you can use only so many mugs! Gift cards to Walmart and Target are great, as it allows us to buy things for our classrooms. And I know Dunkin Donut's cards are always a hit (about 90% of the teachers I work with have to have their coffee in the morning!). But my favorite gift of all time was a letter a student wrote me telling me how much I changed their life by teaching them that books can be fun (I'm a librarian). It was especially great as the child was only in 2nd grade...not perfect spelling, but the message was clear.

I had my kids each write a note to their teachers, and I did, too, and then we went and bought hanging baskets full of petunias over the weekend to pair with the notes. The parents had all pitched in on one big gift card already, but we wanted to do something personal on top of it.
