I have been told that teachers and their families can get into Williamsburg for half price.

I see nothing on their site about it.

Has anyone done this? Is it only for a certain ticket or does it include the Annual Pass?

They seem to offer 3 tickets:

1 Day
1 Day Plus (that allows 2 days of access)
Annual Passes

Thank you!,

I would really be interested in this as well. We were thinking of trying to go there this summer.:)

good to know. I'm taking the family there soon. Should I take a yearbook or teaching cert. to prove this?

Thanks for the tip. Would have never thought of it. :disrocks:

We went to Williamsburg just a few weeks ago. I did see signs that said, "Teacher? Ask about our special rate for teachers."

Be sure to bring an ID showing that you are a teacher to get a 50% discount on a Colonial Williamsburg pass. The discount is for the teacher only and does not apply to other family members.

It was half price for the teacher only.

We went to Williamsburg last on our trip and we were so tired and beat (did Jamestown, drove up to DC for a couple of days, drove back, etc...) that I don't think we enjoyed it all that much, so it seemed like more $$'s worth than we got out of it.

The kids said they loved Jamestown and loved DC (which was mostly free!) more.

Maybe if we had started with Williamsburg......

Just FYI, this discount is also good for Homeschoolers-- one parent is considered the teacher and gets in for half price (at least that was the way it was about 4 years ago) You do have to have some official proof that you homeschool. In my case it was a letter from the district accepting our homeschool plan.

Yes. This is what we used. I took both as we currently homeschool but I taught for many, many years and still have all my credentials.

Just back from Williamsburg ourselves. I did see that there were discounts but don't know how they worked.
We bought "Bounce tickets" online which were a great deal if you are doing Busch Gardens & Colonial Williamsburg then you also get free Water Country USA passes.
These passes cover all parking fees also, they're good for 7 days, and if you ask for them for toddlers (free), it gets them into Busch Gardens and the water park for free. I found these on the Colonial Williamsburg site, and bought online, then turned the E ticket into a hard ticket at Bush Gardens.
I also see that many people go to Colonial Williamsburg without tickets. They only ask for them at locations that have a tour, or give a show of a sort (have someone inside explaining the workings of that location). I.E. Blacksmith shop, dress shop, silversmith, etc.
We had a great time in the area.
