DS and his class were in their library today practicing for a Geography Bowl.
One of the questions was "What is the largest continent?"
DS wrote down Asia and showed his answer.
The teacher said that was incorrect and the correct answer was Africa. She then pointed at a globe and told the kids you could fit every other continent in the world into Africa.
So, the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders are all being told Africa is the largest continent in the world.
So, how do I say something nicely? They can't have an incorrect answer burned into their minds.
Thanks
UPDATE-
We went in this morning. I have to admit, DS and I were both a little nervous. For some reason, I thought she'd be upset or something that we were correcting her. She saw him and said "You're right" She had an old poster or something that gave incorrect info.
We all had a good laugh and my son felt a lot better. She told him to not be afraid to speak up if he knows he's right.
Problem solved.
