We still need a rental car for a couple of days. How do I know how much to bid? 30% below posted price for example? Is it possible to bid on a car rental for pick up at a WDW location and drop off at MCO? Or, has to be same pick up/drop off location?

I have never rented a car from PL but I do look at the site now and then- I frequently do buy hotels thru them. Last time I looked, they only did airport locations and they did not do one-ways.

Suggestions for bidding are:
1) see what people report here
2) go to an "educational" site like biddingfortravel.com or betterbidding.com and see what people have been paying in MCO- there is lots of info on this
3)go to Hotwire.com and bid somewhat less than whatever your category is going for there

Remind that your price will not include all those misc fees- and boy do they add up- nor the fee for the PL service.

Just for clarification, the price you quote per day won't include the taxes, etc. but Priceline will show you what your total amount will be and ask whether or not it's OK before they go out and query car companies on your quote.

I use Priceline for hotels and car rentals and haven't been disappointed yet. They do not do one-way rentals. I also go to biddingfortravel.com and see what rates people are quoting and getting and which car rental companies are biting.

Happy bidding!

bidding for travel will show you how to bid and what people are getting .I use priceline all the time, infact we just got a car for next week.

My first time bidding on priceline I used a rediculous low price for my car rental- I got a good look at the website how it functioned etc. Be sure your info is correct though- maybe you will get lucky- once you buy it is yours. I use hotwire to see what the going rate is and bid at least 30% less- If you have lots of time - try 40. You can rebid every 72 hours. You can also make 2 changes to your bid to get an immediate rebid- as in changing the catagory of car and amount of your bid.

I will try to use priceline for my car rentals from now on. ( never say always!)
I used priceline for my san Fran trip of 6 days- I got Avis for $113 total-fullsize car.

I have used priceline for two hotel stays as well and was happy with them as well. I try to bid at least 4 stars.

Anyone have any success at getting a rental in the Downtown Disney area? I usually can only find data for MCO, and I like to use ME to get to/from the airport to the resort.
