We'll be on the Magic in 2 months! Is Tea with Wendy geared for little girls in princess dresses or would a teen enjoy it? My DD loves seeing all the little ones at DL having a great time but would the Tea be somewhat babyish?

It would depend on the teen..the 15 year old we took with us last cruise would have jumped overboard rather than go to that tea! It is more for little kids though IMO.

I just looked up Tea with Wendy, thinking my 6 year old would enjoy it! It says it's for 3 and 4 night cruises only.... Is this true?

We did Tea with Wendy on the Magic (7 night western) last October. My DS5 enjoyed it (he was picked to sit in for one of Wendy's brothers at the table with her) but it is a pretty simple and short "event". Basically, all the children (and parents) are seated at the tables with teapots, cups and a plate of cookies. Wendy comes out and picks 2 boys to sit with her since her brothers are "late". Then she gives some basic info on drinking tea and the proper table manners. While the children drink their tea (it is real tea but watered down and tepid - tastes awful! - and may turn them off tea for life :) ) she tells them the Peter Pan story. At the end, the children can go up and have a picture taken with her. I think it lasted about 15 minutes. DS5 enjoyed it, but it isn't on his "must do" list for this October.

We have DS 6 and DD 4 who we are hoping will spend lots of time in the kid clubs. Could we take DDers 2 to the tea if me and DH stay with them?

This event is so so SO overrated.

It lasts about 15 minutes. You get cold unsweetened tea and a raisin cookie. Wendy speaks for a few minutes on tea etiquette. You eat a cookie and leave. I rushed to get tickets for this and was really disappointed. Unless your kids luv Wendy I'd skip it. :confused3

I have to agree w/previous poster...this is the WORST event we attended on the boat...period! Tea was horrid, Wendy was boring and (the one saving grace) it was short. I would skip this one for sure!

HM....our girls enjoyed it....(6&12)...they went on their own...just the two of them. Of course the tea wasn't to good...regular non-sweetened tea..but they got the yummy big chocolate chip cookies. DH and my self came in to see the girls getting their pic with Wendy :flower:

It was okay, but not great. If you don't want to stand in line or if you do stand in line but don't get the tickets, it is nothing to worry about missing. My DD who was in 3rd grade at the time seemed to be okay with the event, but she didn't rave about it and I can't see her asking to go back.

Thanks for all the info. I'm sure my DD will skip it and not feel as if she missed anything :) !

When my Dk's went they hated it. My DD was 11 and was bored to tears. Needless to say my DS was not thrilled. For an older child I would not recommend this at all. The younger ones will love it.
