We are currently 84 days out, going Aug 20-27th.It will be 11 of us altogether, ADRs are made, we're basically set.

But, one day my aunt, uncle, their 3 boys, my sis, fiance, and father are planning on going to Universal. I don't think there's enough for DD to truly enjoy there, she doesn't know ET, not really into Dr. Suess, so IDK if I want to spend more $$$ on tickets to US. So I thought me, my mom, and DD would stay behind, maybe hop between MK, Epcot and the pool. DD is really into "tea parties" and its something she always asks me and my mom to play with her. AND me and my mother are big tea drinkers. I have debating going to GF Tea Room since we booked the trip, my only concern is my DD's peanut allergies. I read someone having a bad experience with their food allergies at the tea room so IDK what to do. They do serve PBnJ sandwiches, wwyd?
Thanks!

IF you want to try it I would go. We had a great time there, it was alot of fun to try it once. I would mentian the peanut allergy when you call. They dont have alot of seating and it sounds like it only might work 1 day for you so I would call and try to get the ADR now. You can always cancel if you change your mind closer to your trip.

My mother in law and I did the grand tea while Dd was at the wonderland tea party. Once Dd was done I picked her up and she joined us while we finished our tea. You could pick just scones and cream or desserts with your tea instead of the full grand tea with sandwiches.

Do it!

Love the afternoon tea at GF!

It's really fun!

Your server can recommend some really great teas based on your preferences. If you are tea lover it's a no brainer.

I would mention the allergy on the reservation.

I definitely recommend it!

When we were there in January they asked us about allergies even though we didn't have that noted our reservation (our party didn't have any allergies but it was nice that they checked). The table next to us did have a peanut allergy and the chef came out and went over the sandwich options and what could be substituted and which breads were from safe facility. I did hear him note something about the pastries were made in a facility with nuts but I'm not sure what the alternate choice was. HTH

We did the tea with my nieces who were 8, 9 and 11. When I called for the reservation, I informed them of the peanut and strawberry allergy. I got the restaurant managers name and called a few days before to confirm the request and had no problems at all that day. The girls LOVED it!!

In April my DGD was just under the age limit. So what did I do???? Bought Royal Albert Old Country Roses tea set with looots of plates, cups and saucers. Crazy yes. I didn't need another set of china but for Olivia I did it and one day they will be hers.:cloud9:

There's an age requirement for the Afternoon Tea @ the GF? :confused3

We do the tea every year on our first day.. its our tradition. My DD11 loves it! They do have the Mrs. Potts tea for kids which is either choc. milk or apple juice in thier own tea pot and w variety or tea sandwiches just for kids. Last time DD got it there was a PB and J but there was also ham and cheese, and a chicken salad. I want to say there was a fourth but I cant remember. You could substitute any of them so you could skip the peanut butter one. Now the DD is a little older she prefers to get actual tea and scones. The scones are delicious... best I have ever had. I will tell you I thought the adult sandwiches were AWFUL... so now I just get scones and pastries.
We have always had great service there also.. the CMs are wonderful and very helpful.

Let your server know about your DD's allergy when you are seated. The chef will come over to your table and discuss any menu substitutions needed. DH loves tea at the GF, and has a peanut and tree nut allergy. We have always been able to substitute menu items for him as needed.

My adult DD and I do this every time we go to WDW. We absolutely LOVE it.:goodvibes
