Noted the thread on the lousy coffee at WDW, to which I add an "Amen"!

But I also find the iced tea disappointing. Just about everywhere we have been, it is the fountain iced tea (I guess part of the soft drink sponsorship deal). I absolutely HATE that tea - it has a nasty aftertaste.

Here we are in the South, and no brewed iced tea? Does anyone know where in the World they serve truly brewed iced tea?

Like those who bring their own coffee, I now carry cold brew tea bags so I can make my own decent tea.

Tea lovers, unite!!!

Brewed tea is the only way to go! Unfortunately, I can't answer your question, so I'll be watching to see if anyone else knows. I recently gave up soda so I drink a lot of tea and water.

I agree! I am a tea lover (I am a regular Stash customer), and the first thing I do for breakfast when I get home from WDW is make a good cup of tea. I am very picky about my iced tea too.

Hmm, I wonder if there isn't a deliberate plot to make me order only expensive alcoholic beverages in WDW!

Hot brewed tea is served in many eateries (Trail's End, for one) at breakfast time. (It actually is free with the meal. You have your choice of Twinnings varieties.) You could asked to brew your own hot tea and then pour it over a cup of ice. I do believe most of the nice sit down restaurants serve real brewed tea if you order iced tea as your beverage.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! The iced tea at WDW is terrible. I always call that kind of tea "powder tea" because I'm sure its made from a mix. Good tea is so cheap and easy to make that I can't believe WDW can't have fresh brewed. Thank you for putting words to my thoughts.

Amen! I have got in the habit of doing just what was suggested, order hot tea and a glass of ice!

I totally agree. My DH and I live off of sweet tea and I can't believe they make that yucky stuff at WDW. My DH about dies when we go for a week. He always stops on the way home at the first Chick-fil-a he sees to get sweet tea.

My DH reminded me that we did get brewed iced tea at the Grand Floridian - don't remember which restaurant. But you can't depend on the "nicer" restaurants. Sometimes I've ordered tea and it was the same yucky stuff. And it doesn't help to ask! I asked one time if the iced tea was brewed, was assured it was, and then of course got the junk instead!

I like the idea of brewing hot tea and pouring it over ice. That works!

Hang in there, tea lovers - maybe somebody will send pixie dust over our favorite brew ;-)

I seem to recall an earlier thread on this topic. Someone mentioned brewed iced tea in the Magic Kingdom, but I can't remember which restaurant. Tony's Town Square seems to come to mind, but I'm not sure if that's it. I too would love a list of restaurants serving the good stuff. A few months ago, I stopped drinking soda and now drink iced tea with Splenda (I carry a bag of Splenda packets in my purse at all times! LOL).

Like Lori said Liberty Tree Tavern at the Magic Kingdom has wonderful tea. We try to eat there every trip midway through just to get our tea fix.

That' it! Its not Tony's. Its Liberty Tree Tavern! :hyper:

I've never noticed a problem at any of the sit-down rest. when we order unsweetened iced tea and then add our own sweetener...in between meals we only drink water though, so I wouldn't know about the counter service iced tea...

Nicki

Most of the sit-down full-service restaurants offer brewed iced tea. Not sweet-tea mind you, but it is brewed.

Do not get tea at most of the counter service locations or you will get the Nestea syrup mix type of tea (instant.)

There are a few quick-serve restaurants that do serve brewed iced tea--when in doubt ask. (This is a subject I'm well versed on--just see my tag  )

And yes, I find it disgraceful that in the south you can't even find good sweet teat at Disney ::yes::

I plan on bringing my box of cold brew tea bags so that I can at least get one fix a day of brewed tea! ::yes::

I really cannot stand that tea that come out of a machine. YUK!

I also have been known to order hot tea and a big glass of ice .

Just returned from a week at the World, and I must update this thread to note that just about everywhere we ate, we found real brewed iced tea. Hurray! Even the Pop Century food court has brewed tea! So tea lovers, no more carrying your own bags and brewing your own tea. The real stuff is out there!

Lin

That's great news. Would you mind giving us a list of places that you ate that had brewed tea?

Hmmmm, let's see:

Pop Century Food Court (only 1 brewed tea station, on the far right hand side facing the beverage area from the cash registers)

Germany Biergarten (Epcot)

Norway Akershaus (Epcot)

Earl of Sandwich (Downtown Disney)

Pinocchio Village (Magic Kingdom)

Olivia's (Old Key West)

That's everywhere I remember! (we ate twice at Earl of Sandwich - great food and good prices, definitely recommend it. Try the Earl Grey Lemonade!)

Lin

Thanks for the list. I'll keep these in mind when planning our next visit. :D
