When you order an iced tea, do you get sweetened or unsweetened tea. In the south, if you just say tea, you'll get a sweetened iced tea. You have to specify if you want it unsweetened or if you're wanting hot tea. If I go to a restaurant that doesn't serve sweetened tea, I order a water.;) Sure, I can sweeten it, but it's not the same as pre-sweetened.:teeth:

Here you would get it unsweetened, and if you wanted it sweetened, it would be up to you to put the sugar in it.

I love sweet tea though, so do my kids. We always order it in restaurants when we go south.

I'm with you. Sweetened all the way or water~

DH always orders unsweetened. I always say why bother?

I also drink hot tea with lots of sugar.

You have to specify iced tea or you will get hot tea. It comes unsweetened.

Definitely sweet tea.

I used to work with a British company and they just didn't understand why we would drink our tea cold. Of course, I didn't understand why those Brits would put milk in their tea.

Tea with sugar added is completely different from sweet tea. Sweet tea for us all the way.

Sweet tea! And if you offer me unsweetened w/ a packet of sugar, I'll say no thanks.

We rarely get offered sweet tea here which is OK with me because I use sweet 'n low. I don't even like sweet 'n low except in iced tea.

Funny, but if we ask for tea, we always get iced tea. I have to specify hot tea.

I prefer hot tea (Earl Grey) or iced unsweetened tea.

I really am a Southerner, born and bred... :teeth:

UNsweetend, definitely. When I moved south I ordered iced tea and got a very big, unpleasant shock.:crazy2:

What I love is when you get your glass refilled at a restaurant and they assume you have sweet tea, that's always a nice surprise. Where I come from originally if you ask for tea you get iced, unstweetened.

I put milk and sugar in my Lipton tea. Every other tea, including iced, else I drink black

Yum, I love milk and sugar in my tea. Reminds me of my mommy, she always gave that to me when I was feeling down in the dumps. :( Sure do miss her. I don't drink hot tea very often, but when I do I drink it exactly that way.

I prefer sweet tea, but here they give it to you unsweetened and it's up to you to put sugar in it. I don't like unsweetened tea. If a restaurant has their own homemade tea, I won't order it. I'll only drink bottled iced tea like Snapple or Arizona (or my own iced tea, which I make very sweet).

I put milk in hot tea. One of my friends thinks I'm weird since I'm not British. :p

Sweet tea, only way to go!

My Dad makes the best sweet tea in the world!!! :sunny:

I like hot tea with milk and sugar

I like iced tea with sweetened condensed milk or unsweetend if it's strong enough of a brew. If it's a weak brew then sweetened.

unsweetend and it must be brewed. I always ask first because I don't like fountain tea. I use to use sweet-n-low, but now I prefer it unsweet.
