What have your experiences been with the Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian? My MIL is coming with us next week, and I'd like to take her as an early birthday gift. She's from England, and loves her tea :)

Are PS needed?

Are children welcome? I know, I know... it's WDW... but I didn't know how "fancy" this tea is. My DD is 2 1/2 and I'd like to take her too. I think she'd like having a "real" tea party.

TIA!!

I highly recommend it. It is expensive but I enjoy it. I have taken my DD's when they were young. It is okay, but not real intersting for them. But if you think your little one will enjoy it...then by all means do it. They will serve her chocolate milk or hot chocolate instead of the tea, if she prefers. I recommend a PS ... it depends when you are going if it will be crowded. Once in December when I went, there was a line, and I was glad I had the PS.

Enjoy!:D

I went there for my birthday in November. I would recommend a PS. I was there at a very slow time but there were still people waiting without a PS. Be sure to tell them your MIL is having a birthday. The waiter will bring her a decorated cupcake and have everyone sing happy birthday to her.
Not sure about your 2 1/2 YO. It is a very quiet place and the tea courses are served in a very relaxed manner (meaning you will be there for quite awhile). I think I was there for 1 1/2 hours and I was alone.

My husband and I did this tea while our DD's were at the Wonderland Tea Party. We both really enjoyed ourselves. I didn't care for some of the tea sandwiches, but the rest of our food was outstanding. The set up is quite fancy, but we felt comfortable wearing our theme park clothes (shorts) along with everyone else. Yes, children are welcome. They have something called Belle's Tea (or something similar) for the children. It's chocolate milk and PB&J. If you can swing it, the Wonderland Tea party is much more fun for children.
