I would like to take my daughter to tea she will be 11 on our
trip has anyone gone with a child this age?? did they enjoy it?
I thought it would be a nice mother daughter outing
thanks

I think she'll love it. It's a wonderful mother daughter experience.:goodvibes

HI, Do not forget to make an ADR for TEA, they do book up!! My DD and I found this out when we tried to go in February as walk-ins,luckily we were able to pick another afternoon and make an ADR. Joan

Yes, I did the tea with my then 13 and 10 year old daughters and they loved it!! They didn't really like the sandwiches but they loved the tea and the desserts!! Do make an ADR for this one

I have been taking both of my kids to the GF tea for years--started probably when they were 6 & 8. Even my son (now 14) likes it, and thinks the sandwiches are pretty good. But they also know the way to the pastries are through the sandwiches, and both think the strawberries are awesome.

If it is taking too long for you and the child is not thrilled to be there, just let your server know and they'll speed things up.

We went in February. It was me, DMIL, and two dds (10 and 11).

I thought it was a great "girls day out".

We liked it so much the girls and I are doing it again in July. DH is going to take ds to EPSN. Last time DFIL and ds just went to Gasparilla's and played in the arcade while we were at teal. DH was busy doing his run.

I took my daughter last March. She was three at the time. She tried tea and didn't like it so our server brought her chocolate milk. We also went with my mother so it was really a very special time for all three of us.

we've been going also - when dd was 11 she wanted tea - but didnt like it, and was also brought out the chocolate milk - then she spent a year trying different teas! She found one she esp. liked - darjaleen - when we got there - it wasnt listed - her face fell, and the CM asked her - and I brought it up - the cm said they had it!! :goodvibes DD was also able to customize and get the sandwiches she liked (instead of the walnut, cucumber...) it was fabulous!!

We also ordered (in advance) the Slipper Dessesrt for her birthday!

Ok, how do I make an ADR for this tea? I called the DINE line and the man I talked to believed that the only teas at the GF were the Wonderland and Aurora parteas (my own pun, thank you) - I couldn't convince him otherwise. Where is the tea located? Do I need to ask for the restaurant by name? I want to do this as a birthday present for my sister when I go to visit her. Thanks so much!

I called the regular ADR # and told the CM I wanted to have tea
at the garden view lounge in the grand floridian and she made
the reservation

Ask for the Garden View Lounge, and they should be able to find it.

No it is not, they specifically mentioned that to me when I made the reservation.

Do you remember what the slipper dessert cost? I would love to do this for my little niece when we go in August:) she will be getting "coupons" for her birthday to use at Disney:)

I've read the price for the slipper dessert is now $20 - it definately has a great WOW factor - from CM's as well as other people at the tea - it is well spent!

I went to the cake thread to find numbers:

GF Bakery407-824-2474.
GF Private Dining 407-824-2578, 407-824-2474
GF 407-824-3000

I believe I called the GF Bakery number - I listed the others in case that number doesnt work - I'm not sure I may have left my Credit card number - but it wasnt charged, we paid cash when we are the tea!

We just did it last week and LOVED it! Food and service were wonderful, not a bad thing to say about it:) I took my two dd's 14 and 6 and we had a fabulous mommy daughter time. It is now a must do for us each trip!:thumbsup2

1) The event for mother-daughter is good.
2) There are even a few guys that like it (I do!).
3) I only wish the tea was better quality - it is good, just not the best. *
4) They only have Orange Pekoe and Broken Orange Pekoe teas.

* Please accept this as biased opinion/review. We do Afternoon Tea at several places, and the comparison is tough not to make.
