I have a couple of questions about tea at the grand floridian. Does anyone know if with the combo choices you get only one cup of tea or unlimited refiles on your tea of choice? The other question goes along with the first one. If you do get unlimited tea, can you change varites of tea or do you have to get the same type every time? These questions have been just bugging me for weeks. Thank you for any replies. :wizard:

You are served a pot of tea and can have hot water added as the pot empties (the tea leaves will keep steeping in added water). If you decide to change the type of tea, I'm pretty sure there'd be an extra charge. If each person at the table orders a different kind of tea, you'll each be given your own pot and can then sample each other's tea.

It's a lot of fun and a must-do on all of our trips. Enjoy!

Yep, each person gets their own pot. The teas (at least the ones we had) were brewed from loose tea and we were provided with strainers to put on top of our cups to pour it through.

When we went in '03, the three adults each ordered a different kind of tea, and we all shared with one another. A pot probably holds a generous 4-5 teacups' worth if I had to guess. This time there will be 5 adults, and I hope we all try something different again! That was part of the fun for us -- trying some varieties we can't get at home.

I hope you enjoy your tea! It's a quiet and lovely way to spend some time away from the crowds.

Hiya

Just got back today and went to Grand Floridian for Afternoon Tea. Have to say was the best food we had in Disney during our entire stay.

Remember you kids can order proper tea as well (not just the choco milk).

Fantastic!! Pain me though it does as an Englishwoman I have to recommend the Irish tea for the best cuppa! (Tastes much more like an English cup of tea - than the English breakfast tea does!!) :rotfl2:

I'm really looking forward to going to the Afternoon Tea with my family our upcoming trip.

For those of you who have done this, what tea did you like best? The Hot Cinnamon Spice sounds good, especially right about now :)

Cinnamon tea is my absolute favorite. It takes just like those little red hearts that you can get for cake decorating--no sugar needs to be added.

We'll be there again in February!!

What type of food is served w/ tea?

I went for tea at the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan last Spring. It was very "delightful". I never considered tea at GF, but maybe I should.

P.S.-Irish tea has to be good--it is a staple of the Irish diet!

I am not a tea drinker, but I really wanted to go to tea. I found the Raspberry tea. It is considered one of the herbal teas. It is fabulous. It comes in a french press, not a traditional ceramic tea pot. I have never been able to finish the pot. I love the food there.

On a side note, a tea room opened up in my neighborhood and got rave reviews in the local paper. So I took Mom for Mother's Day. We had both loved Afternoon Tea at GF. The tea was nice, but doesn't compare to GF. They could learn a lesson or two on the food.

You will truly enjoy the setting and the food. I think I need to go back in May.

My wife and myself our doing the tea before MVMCP in a few weeks. We have wanted to do this for a while now but just never found the right time.

Hi june, when in February are you going? I'm going solo in February for a convention (wife has to stay home, unfortunately), but wanted to do a Sunday afternoon GF Tea anyways since my wife & I always try to do a Tea when we travel. The GF Tea has a "Prince Edwards" option with port that sounds incredible (and filling!); anybody here ever try it? The best (and most expensive) we've had to date is "High Tea" at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC...any comparison?

Afternoon tea at the GF is a tradition in our family! I always get the chamomile tea... very soothing and I love the hint of lemon.

We order the grand tea - it comes with tea sandwiches, scones, jam, and devonshire cream (yummy!), and a choice of english trifle or strawberries & cream. Or, I should say that's what it came with the last time we were there - it's been too long. :goodvibes

Go if you can - it really is a lovely break from the crowds in the middle of the day.

Can't make the comparison to "High Tea" at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, but I have had high tea at both the Ritz Hotel and at Fortnum and Mason in London, and DW and I felt that the GF tea service was on a par with F&M, but not quite up the the elegance of the Ritz (although I suspect few places are, given the price). At the GF, I usually have the Prince Edwards, although one time I ordered al a carte because I wanted to try a glass of champagne rather than port. Good eating and drinking either way.
