After seeing the special about Tchoup Chop on the Food Network last night I cancelled my PS for CG and 1 I had for Jiko.

Who has been and what was it like?

Haven't been yet, but atmosphere wise, it looks alot more appealing than CG.
It's getting great reviews!

I've been and the food is pretty good. I think they really dose severs on you. There were 3 when I went: one took the order, one filled the water, and one did the deserts. The water waiter was on his toes. Every time we took a sip out of the water glass, he'd come over and fill it up! At least you won't go thirsty there. :)

The atmosphere is nice, with a fountain in the middle and a nice decor about the place. There is an open view to the kitchen. They have 3 or 4 people serve you and the food is great. Its not that big though so reservations are recommended. I love this place.

I've been several times and like it. The place does have its detractors, though. Some people find the food "too salty."

I've done the special tasting menu twice and highly recommend it. It's limited to about 8 or maybe 10 people. You sit at a food bar looking into the kitchen and have your own personal chef cooking right in front of you. Lots of fun, great food and, for what you get, very reasonable I think. Last time I was there it was about $60 per person.

Kelly,

Can you give a few more specifics on how that worked out and what was included in the $60? How long ago was this (which you may freely translate as "how much can I assume it has gone up since then").

We're planning an April trip, and this sounds like a wonderful surprise for the womens. However, we men are cheap bastids and don't want to get in over our heads (or, more accurately, over our wallets!)

Mulch <---cheap

Where is Tchoup Chop exactly located?
I'm thinking it's near his other restaurant at CW.
I could be wrong.

Emeril's is at CW. Some people confuse the two.

Extremely disappointed. See our recently posted review of restaurants for details, just posted. You will not be disappointed with Jiko. If you have time, try it for yourself though.

We think that the best restaurant at USF/IOA is Delfino. If you have the time, money, and are looking for that special place, I'd go there.

Went back and looked at the original post carefully. Tchop Shop is not in the same league as the CG as far as food goes.

As far as atmosphere, it is close. We would favor the CG due to the views of the MK castle. The CG is also seems classier (although that opniinion may be skewed due to our food opinion)
