I called directly to RPR hotel to confirm our stay (room request) as well as to make our dinner reservations for Tchoup Chop on Dec. 11th. I get transferred to Concierge and the guy says that he sees 5:15, 6:00 and 6:15 pm for dinner. I really wanted 6:45pm for dinner so we can have time to get back to RPR and freshen up with nicer clothes. Then as we are talking, he said the 6:15pm disappeared and he only has 6:00pm or I can take 9:00pm?! Nothing in between. Well, I took the 6:00pm before it disappeared off the screen as well.

I decided to check opentable.com for Tchoup Chop and they do have open reservations for 6:00, 6:15, 6:30 and 6:45pm. So my question is can I rely on the opentable.com time slot reservations? Should I book my dinner through opentable and cancel my 6:00pm with the restaurant? I really wanted a later dinner time slot because the Macy's parade at US starts at 5:00pm so it would be a real hustle to get two small children back with us to the hotel after viewing the parade (probably won't have time to change).

Anyone with experience booking your Tchoup Chop reservation through opentable.com?

Thanks.
Cynthia

We went through Open Table for our 11/20 lunch at Tchoup Chop. Best meal of our trip by the way. No problems at all and there was only one other table being served during our entire lunch. It was very quiet.

We booked Tchoup Chop through Open Table and had no problem with our reservations. Just make sure you confirm with Tchoup Chop the day of your reservation or there is a chance they'll cancel it.
We wnjoyed our dinner meal at Tchoup Chop much more than our lunch there. Although, both were very good. Dinner service is just a lot more "special".

I have used Open Table for Tchoup Chop and restaurants in Philadelphia, New York City and suburban New Jersey. I have had no problems with them at all. I agree with gschmerl that you should confirm with Tchoup Chop the day of your reservation.

Enjoy! Tchoup Chop is great!

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I will go make the reservations at opentable right now. Any yummy favorites on the menu that you always enjoy having at the restaurant?

The crunchy shrimp appetizer was GREAT! For the main course we loved the Firecracker Fish of the day and the Ahi Tuna. For dessert we LOVED the warm pineapple upside down cake even more that the banana cream pie. The service at dinner is wonderful. A team of servers sees to your every need.

Thanks for the info. I am so looking forward to my meal at Emerils. I plan to do luch at both, my DS 8 and 4 may disrupt dinner. Is it true that you cannot book until 30 days out? The Universal how to says 6 months.

People don't get very dressed up there, from what we've seen when we've gone there. Many people walk over from Universal, so they're still in theme park attire.

I always use opentable... we are locals... it works fine for us.

opentable.com is excellent..you won't have any problems with your ressie. Enjoy..we love Tchoup Chop
